I would have like it more if she stayed with just Penn and Carter, no Ollie, he was unredemable after was he did with the mask, I don't know how she was able to move past that, but it ruined that character for me.
The reveal of L was very predictable, and her reaction to it was annoying, did she actually wanted a fourth guy? Wasn't she satisfied enough with the three she already had? Made no sense to me!
It was still okay, and some parts were interesting, but this book was basically just smut, the plot is very all over the place, and lost in between all the sex scenes....more

The characters kept thinking all these things they were going to do and say, but when the reality came they didn't do any of those things, and remained the same as in the first book. Maybel was a weak character, she kept thinking she hated Drew, and would not fall back into him, and he just look at her and she was ready to forget everything and pull down her panties.
I'm all about spice and dark themes, but I also need a little romance to make the couple and the book work, and here there wasn't any of that. The side characters were very interesting and they basically carried the whole book, the main couple did nothing. Honestly Seb, the evil father, and the mother were the reason why I finished this book, but I don't think I will continue with the series. ...more

Michelle Heard does this writing where you fall in love with a side character and then that character gets killed and I hate that!

I love a good student/professor forbidden romance and this one had all that I like, the chemistry and intensity between Sadie & Luke was great, I loved how they both help each other in different ways and their banter was very fun to read.
The conflict that they had was actually very well done, and I completely understand it, even though Luke kind of annoyed me when he denied Sadie and declared the baby wasn't his to other people, when he had said to Sadie the night before that she and the baby were both his, I know it's was a complicated and tricky situation, but that was really a dick move and I didn't like it, but in the end he definitely made up for it.
I loved their happy ending and their family, it was a very beautiful book and it can be read completely as a stand alone. ...more

I get the appeal with this type of books, and the spicy scenes were great if you like dark romance, which I do, but I was missing the romance part, Drew was always dark and mean, and he basically treated Bel as a toy, to just use and discard, he was never sweet, or soft with her, they didn't even had a real, honest conversation throughout this book, Bel doesn't know anything about him, so I don't understand why she is so hung up on him, so far he hasn't showed her anything good or redeemable.
The last act was brutal, and I get why he did what he did, but I don't understand how Bel will be able to look past that, I just don't get why she wants him, we are in his POV, so we know everything he is going through, but she doesn't, so the fact that she is in love with him, doesn't make sense to me, other that him being her first, there's nothing that will actually make a connection believable.
I hope in the next book they actually have deep conversations and that Bel actually gets to know Drew and fall for him for real, not just for his d...

It kind of bothered me that after meeting each other, Sebastian went a dated other people while Arianna stayed behind on his beach house with a bodyguard, and then they do not see each other for two years, I understand he was uncomfortable because of their age gap, but still this was a slow burn and they do not get together until we are 70% in.
There were some very sweet and romantic moments, but because this is the first part of the duet, there has to be a break up/cliffhanger at the end, which I didn't like, in some ways I get why Sebastian did what he did, especially after hearing the conversation between Arianna and Ella, but I still hate it when they break up because they think they know better and are trying to "help and save" the other person.
I do hope there's a lot of groveling in the second part....more

Also, I get this is a dark romance, but some of Enzo's activities were way too descriptive and uncomfortable to read, other thing that made me uncomfortable was the amount of blasphemy on this book, Mafia Dark Romance books not always has to be filled with blasphemy and questioning God's existence, and it get to the point in this book that it was so much and so repeated that I had to take a break.
After that break it was very hard for me to connect back with the story, mostly because of real life situations, the story was good and interesting, and the characters had great chemistry, I just read it at a bad time, I know that if I decide to reread this book, I would definitely enjoy it more....more

The book is told between past and present, and after reading the two first books of the series we know that Fallon and Valentino had a bad past, that ended with both hating each other, so I really had no interest in reading so much about the past. The previous book left these two in an interesting present, but it took way too long to get back to that timeline.
And once we were in present time, they spent a lot of pages thinking about the past, so this book felt very long. And in the present Valentino was awful to Fallon, he tortured her physically, mentally and emotionally, and she forgave all way too easily.
This girl has gone through hell and back, and she deserved someone who worship her and grovel for her forgiveness, which Valentino did not do, she was the one pushing the relationship forward. Valentino was weak and whiney, and Fallon deserved so much better than that tragic, toxic relationship.
The only reason this has this rating its because I loved getting to know more about the side characters, and seeing how Lucan and Andrea are doing, also really liked the introduction to the second generation, which I know is being written right now. The writing style was good and I'm interested in the next couple, hopefully they are better than this one.
Side note: trauma bonding does not equal twin flames, and a angsty, hurtful "love story" does not make it epic.
Lucan turn out to be very sweet, and obsessed with his girl, I really enjoyed it.

The side characters were great, and even though this couple's story is complete, there's still some mysteries left, and I'm really looking forward to uncover them and finding out more about each character.
The time apart at the end didn't made that much sense to me, and I didn't like that Andrea waited so long to reunite with Lucan, but it's a sweet story and I'm very invested in this world, so I'm off to read Fallon's story and the rest ...more

It is supposed to be the last book of the series, but it seems incomplete, I was left wanting more from this couple, and some side characters were very interesting and I thought that they would have their story too, but now as the author has said this is the last one, and she is more involved in sports/hockey romance, I don't know if she will come back to this world, and that is a little disappointing.

Without the bonus, what was that ending? I was so invested in this couple and their journey, and for the book to end like that, I was very disappointed.
I'm very glad the author decided to add something, otherwise I would have been mad. Tobias and Sloane had insane chemistry, and they made each other so much better and free, I understand why Tobias needed the time apart to deal with his trauma, but their reunion seemed very rushed, I wish we could have seen more of them reconnecting and being a couple freely.
