Greyson was certainly the alpha male we all expect him to be as an ex-Navy Seal. I love the fact that he fell in love with Maple and quickly took on the role of father to her. My favorite part was when Greyson, Finley, and Maple were at the cemetery. It was such a beautiful moment where promises were made and permission was given.
Fans of KendallRyan, grab this book now! If you're looking for a new romance author, here she is! Her books are never a disappointment. Recommended!

I am obsessed with this book! When I first started reading it, I kept trying to compare it to other young adult stories like Harry Potter and The HungI am obsessed with this book! When I first started reading it, I kept trying to compare it to other young adult stories like Harry Potter and The Hunger Games, but it didn't take me long to realize this is one very unique tale!
The characters blend so well together. I absolutely love the team that was crafted. Finn may have been chosen instead of having the freewill to be there but it all works out for the better for everyone involved.
The historic aspect of this is amazing! I'm a history buff and and when you add adventure, friendship, and love in the mix? I am definitely there for it! Please tell me there will be a sequel! You have to read this book...don't delay!...more

I can almost guarantee that you will enjoy this story if you love those 80's and 90's teen romcom movies like I do. It plays out just like one! For this to be the author's first attempt at writing a young adult novel with American high school football, she did a phenomenal job! I could even compare this book to Abbi Glines' Until Friday Night, and we all know how much I love Abbi!
Tori Lomax has a plan. Phase one: Get Colt Burgess to agree to teach her how to fit in so she can try and snag the guy she's been in love with since she was twelve. Which is, of course, Colt. He thinks she likes a different guy on his football team and because he thinks he knows how Tori will be treated by him, he tells her no. However, he feels bad for hurting her feelings and wants to help build her confidence up so he eventually agrees.
They spend some evenings together. He teaches her about the game of football so that she will have something to talk about with Mack (the guy Colt thinks she likes). He also tells her to change the way she dresses so Mack will notice her more. The problem is that Mack does take notice but he's not the only one. When Colt starts to feel something for Tori, he tries his best to fight it but once you've been bitten by that love bug, there's no turning back!
This book catapulted me right back to high school. I could very easily remember sitting in the bleachers just as Tori did and cheering on my team. I liked the atmosphere and the camaraderie between the characters very much, especially the football team and the way they all took up for one another. Finn and Amy were amazing friends and great secondary characters. Maybe those two should get together? Best friends dating best friends? It happens.
I am so excited to continue on with this series! Mack's book will be the next to be released and I have a feeling it's going to be just as good as this one! Fans of YA with high school romances, football, and close friends...here's your next read!...more
Let me start this by saying that this book is by Lauren Creed, also known as Celia Kyle, and I have liked the other books I've read by Ms. Kyle, but ILet me start this by saying that this book is by Lauren Creed, also known as Celia Kyle, and I have liked the other books I've read by Ms. Kyle, but I was sixty-seven percent into to this one before I started to enjoy it more. I am not sure if that is due to the fact that I finally got used to everything that is thrown at the reader from the beginning or what, but it became easier for me to read at that point.
From the very beginning, I was getting a little annoyed. I didn't really care for the nicknames given to the supernaturals and there was so much to be learned about Caith in the first few chapters that it had my head spinning. She is part demon, part werewolf, (we could've stopped there and it would have been OK with me), part unicorn, part pixie, part crusader, and I don't even know how to explain the last part of her, but one of her five dads is Father Earth. She's also Lucifer's neice. See what I mean?
It certainly takes some getting used to, but I stuck with it and the story did get better for me to the point where I am interested in reading the second installment to find out what happens with her and Sam. One thing I can say for sure about this book is that Caith is one bad chick! No wonder she has everyone in Orlando scared of her.
Maybe you're interested in the six different sides of Caith and would like to check this book out? Or maybe you will have to stick with it a little longer and let it all sink in but either way I'd say Urban Fantasy fans will enjoy this one.

Because proceeds of the anthology go to RAINN, it's easy to guess that these novellas are going have difficult subject matters. The tables are turned a little in this story since Gabe is the victim. He is trying to overcome the demons from his past. Little did he know that help would come in the form of a woman he requested from an escort service.
Molly O'Keefe is a phenomenal writer. How she can pack so much heart into such a short story, I'll never understand because I don't have that talent, but I am sure glad she does because I have enjoyed every book I've read by her.
This has to be the most intense novella I have ever held in my hands. It gives us a sense of hope. It lets us know that you can overcome things easier when someone believes in you. It also leaves us wanting more.
I do recommend that you read this story if you are a fan of M. O'Keefe or contemporary romance. It doesn't take long and I think you'll be just as amazed as I was about all the emotion dumped in this compact story.

Kelly didn't expect to be sitting at Torrence Records, completing a job interview. Her friend, Isla, was the one who sent in the application under Kelly's account. When she gets the job, she decides to go along with it. Besides, it will get her out of the house where she has been moping over her ex-boyfriend, Fletcher, for months.
Kelly almost changes her mind when she discovers her boss is the Marcus Chapman from high school. She knows that he will ask her out and when he does, she blows him off and tells him she doesn't want to date anyone at work. However, when Bryce, another manager, asks her out she automatically accepts, much to Marcus' disappointment. He knows Bryce's reputation and he makes a bet with Kelly: If Bryce sleeps with her and then dumps her, which he is known for, then she owes him one date. After that, if she doesn't want another date, he will leave her alone.
It did take me a while to get into this book. I think it was because I was wishing I had read the other books first. That does not mean it can't be read as a standalone because it certainly can. It would just be better for me had I read the previous books.
Looking through Marcus' eyes, it was kind of sad to see him pining after a girl who was out of his league and who had rejected him for so long. His character was sweet and funny, definitely my favorite. I loved the way he burrowed under Kelly's skin, making her take a closer look at her life and they types of guys she goes for.
Everything was so laid back with Marcus. One of my favorite scenes was the first date. He was all about seeing the real Kelly and not the designer store heiress she has to be around everyone else.
Troublemaker was a fun read and you will find quite a few good songs throughout the book. I recommend this to fans of New Adult and anyone who likes an underdog story.

This story is more short n' spicy than it is short n' sweet, but a little of both, I suppose. It seemed like sort of a mash-up between The Gentleman Mentor, Sinfully Mine, and Screwed with aspects from each one. And I'm not complaining. Although I would have liked to read a full scene pertaining to the talk Hudson and Hayden had about Gracie. Actually, I would have liked a full-length novel, but I'll take what I can get. I only have one question, where did Hudson go at the ice cream shop if he didn't see Hayden walk in?
Monster Prick is a quick, steamy read that will leave you wanting more of Gracie and Hudson. I do recommend reading it. If you've never ready anything by Kendall Ryan before, I would suggest grabbing this one, and if you're already a fan, you will enjoy it as well. ...more
Kendall Ryan knows how to deliver the heat and it starts on the very first page! Just so you know, you'll have to read this book to understand the storyline but Nolan is not a cheater. I mean c'mon! He's a Navy Seal, you know he's honorable! He found out that he needed these two women for very different reasons. Daniella and Nolan both were sort of using each other as a shield to protect themselves from acquiring a broken heart. Then he meets Lacey. He can't bring himself to treat her like all of his other side dishes. Waiting on their romance to play out was one of the best things about Bait & Switch.

I was honestly surprised to find out who Lacey was. I kind of thought the "special assignment" had something to do with her, but I never thought that was the reason why Nolan's boss was so concerned about it. It's really hard not to give away any spoilers, by the way, but I'm trying. I did find it a little odd that Nolan didn't pressure Lacey to find out more when she told him she was running from something. He is an ex-Navy Seal after all, it seems like he would want to know what he's getting into, but to be fair, he was already protective of her and maybe in too deep. Of course, everything is explained near the end and it all comes together in a good way. You do get an HEA.
Kendall Ryan shares a personal story with her readers in the author's note. It was a situation that gave her a deeper connection to this story. I think it was brave of her to include it and it's great that she trusts her readers so much that she knows she can share things like that.
Greyson's book is next and it sounds great! I can't wait to read it! This book releases on 2.9.16 and you should definitely grab a copy!

The Rissa sails again in the latest installment of the Romancing the Pirate series. Dead Man's Kiss is the fifth book, but can be read as a standalone (as long as you don't mind a couple of small spoilers from the previous books).
This is the second book I've read in the series and I'm amazed at how much I get caught up in this adventurous world. Jennifer Bray-Weber's descriptive writing drew me in so far that when I had to put down my Kindle (and get back to work) I experienced a twinge of disappointment because it felt as if I were leaving the Caribbean.
There wasn't a dull moment to be found with Captain Barone fighting for his ship, his crew, and the woman he needs to keep safe in order to prevent his band of swashbuckling pirates, and himself, from a hanging death. He tries to thwart Catalina's advances, because the lives of his crew are on the line, but Catalina is strong-willed and always gets what she wants.
Henri is probably my favorite secondary character. He is a loyal friend who is not afraid to knock the captain down a couple of notches when he selfishly get himself into situations that could cause him to place the men he leads in danger. I enjoyed the tension between Henri and Nalda as well. They seem to be cut from the same cloth.
If you're in the mood for a historical romance with an audacious, yet suave, pirate and a Spanish fire cracker of a woman (with brains), then grab this one. I'm sure you won't be disappointed....more

Yet another enjoyable romance from Kendall Ryan. Ms. Ryan is quickly making her way up the list of my favorite authors. Her writing flows along smoothly and her characters could easily be someone you pass on the street. (In L.A., where the story takes place anyway.)
Just so you don't make the same mistake I did, let me tell you that this book is not part of the Dom series. I was probably halfway through it when I realized that.
Oliver is being warned by his best friend and business partner, Hudson, to stay away from the tenants in the buildings they own. His playboy ways has caused women to threaten them with lawsuits. He agrees to stay away, while watching the new tenant with interest as she shows the movers where to place her things. He tells himself, and Hudson, that he will just become friends with her. Which he does, but that's not where their relationship will stop.
Emery was already informed about Hayden (Oliver) by Roxy, but when he suggests showing her around town and maybe doing something as friends, she says why not? That's how Hayden ended up in a yoga class with her. She relishes the time spent with him and after meeting his family, it doesn't take her long to realize there may be more than friendship at play.
Describing this book as a romantic comedy is right! There were a couple of situations that had me cracking up, but there was also a serious issue added in which explains why Hayden feels the way he does about women.
I almost wish Hayden would have really put Emery's boss in his place. I know...sometimes all it takes is seeing a well-muscled boyfriend to put some fear in someone, but the boss really deserved to get some teeth knocked out!
Screwed would be a good addition to any Contemporary/Rom Com fan's bookshelf....more

This novel started out wonderfully. There were a couple of surprises in the first few chapters, which I thought was interesting because most of the time those come later on in the book. The story slowed down a little bit in the middle, but it did not bore me. Far from it, actually, and it picked right back up in the last few chapters.
Teagan struggles with a few different problems, mostly stemming from the fact that her mother practically dumped her on her grandparents door the day she was born. In Truth and Temptation, we watch Teagan try to overcome the feeling of being worthless, because that's what she has been told her whole life. She doesn't feel like she deserves to be loved. She lies to the people closest to her. When Alec walks into her life, we witness a significant change in her.
I would've liked to have seen more about Teagan's father in this story, at least know who he was or his reaction to Teagan. I believe there is a novella concerning him though.
Also, this story can be read as a standalone, however, I was a tad bit disappointed when I found out things from the other books which I have not read yet. Which is why I need to read them in order, and that was my fault. Still, there wasn't any major spoilers, but if you feel the way that I do about reading a series, you might want to grab books one and two before reading this one.

This story is only made up of six chapters, but man, they are worth the read for sure. Normally, short stories are not my cup of tea, so I was pleasantly surprised with Wanting a Mate.
Holt is a cougar shifter and his cat has been wanting a mate. Which means that Holt has been irritable. When his brother talks him into going to the first annual Meet & Mate, he gives it a shot. That's where Chloe trips and end up against his chest. He knows instantly that she belongs to him.
This book is definitely worth the short amount of time it takes to read it. Recommended!...more

Kendall Ryan is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. Sinfully Mine didn't disappoint in its deliverance of Reece's story. You don't have to read The Gentleman Mentor first, but I would advise you to do so. Just for the simple fact that I absolutely loved Hale.
I couldn't wait to start reading about Reece and Hale's little sister Macey. Unlike Brie, Macey doesn't hold back, and lets Reece know up front what she's looking for. Neither one of them expected those old feelings to surface. In fact, Reece tries his best to fight it, because Macey is the reason he turned to BDSM in the first place.
I liked that Macey really challenged Reece and all of his 'domness'. I can forgive him for his lack of affection concerning Macey after their lessons because he more than makes up for it in the end. This is the series that will bring you out of that romance-book funk, because they have a little bit of that something different.
I will be waiting patiently for Oliver's story because I know it will be worth it. Greatly Recommended!...more

This anthology was not exactly what I was expecting, but that's not a bad thing. These short stories are interesting and clever. A few of them made me laugh. My favorite one, I believe, was The Punkin King. I love short stories that have to do with Halloween. If you enjoy stories that are a bit odd with a paranormal theme, you'll probably like this book!...more

A wolf and a tiger. Doesn't seem like much of a match, huh? But when Raphael (the tiger) saves Skye (the wolf) from a group of hooligans, they form a friendship based on the fact that they are both morphers. Skye starts to develop feelings for the handsome Raphael, even though she tries to resist it.
This story takes place in London, two centuries in the future. Thugs are running rampant, or so the story says, but it seems to me that it was just one certain group.
I felt that this book was for a younger audience, but the characters are old enough to drink, have jobs, and go to college. Something I didn't understand was the fact that Skye transformed and bit a thug that was beating up an innocent boy, but Raphael said no one connected her with the wolf that attacked the guy, even though she changed right in front of the crowded restaurant where she was having lunch with her friend, Daphne. Morphers that attack regular humans are condemned to death automatically.
The story got more interesting at about 50% and I wouldn't mind reading the second book. Pretty good read for YA fans....more

The director tells her Mr. Usher has been dead for many years. Bella is shocked, two ghosts in the same day, but only one had any effect on her, the ghost of Jacques LeFerve.
Bella has a beautiful voice, but stage fright keeps her from showcasing her talent. Therefore, she always gets the part of a chorus girl. As she was entering the stage for a scene one night, the motion of the kaleidoscope makes her dizzy and all of the sudden, she's standing on the same stage, a hundred years in the past, staring at an audience of people in Victorian clothing! Just when she catches a glimpse of Jacques LeFerve in the flesh, she is transported back to her own time.
Bella tells her ailing grandma about her experience the night before. to her surprise, Gran believes her and tells her to follow her destiny. The following night, while Bella was heading to the stage dressed in a Valkyrie costume, she is struck by the dizziness again. When she opens her eyes, she is standing on the other stage, in 1896. Jacques LeFerve is performing, but when he sees Bella, he stops singing for a moment, mesmerized by her appearance. This time, Bella doesn't know when she'll return to the present. She deals with the sadness of missing Gran, but at the same time, she seems to be falling for Jacques. As she tries to solve the mystery of who killed Jacques on August 4, 1896, she realizes she needs to save his life, not just for him, but for also for herself.
I liked the fact that this story took place in New Orleans. The setting is in the city in the year 1996 and, also, 1896. The author did a wonderful job of describing the differences in the two time periods, including the furniture that would have been antiques in 1996 and even more so now.
One thing that irked me, though, was the fact that practically everyone from 1996 spoke as if they were from the century before. It would have been better if Bella was the only one to do that, then maybe we could assume that she really did belong in a different time.
Of course, Jacques LeFerve could be a bit chauvinistic, at times, but considering how things were back then, it's nothing unusual. Although, Bella does put him in his place a couple of times. Recommended for fans of historical fiction.
