En este caso estamos en una colonia en otro planeta, Terra II, un planeta más hídrico que terrestre, donde nuestra protagonista vive entre un grupo de habitantes del mar que se rigen por unas costumbres de lo más arcaicas, aunque estemos ante algo tan avanzado como es una colonia en el espacio. Hay que tener en cuenta que esta colonia perdió toda comunicación con la tierra generaciones atrás. Así que ese regreso a los “orígenes” está bien justificado.
Por otro lado, Jiwa es un comandante de una raza de otro planeta, los Sirein, que llegan a Terra II en un intento desesperado por echar raíces en otro planeta tras la destrucción del suyo. Cuando Jiwa ve a Nerida sabe que ella es su pareja, y que es ella o ninguna así que se dispone a ganarse sus favores, en el tiempo límite de que dispone y enfrentándose a la desaprobación de sus superiores.
Debo reconocer que sí eché algo en falta más profundidad de las gentes de Sirein. Me hubiera gustado más interacciones con ellos y saber aún más de ellos. Pero aún así, es una lectura que me gustó, me atrapó y me entretuvo bastante después de una gran sequía lectora....more

No obstante, aunque con limitaciones es un personaje que decide luchar antes que rendirse.
Por otro lado, Katherine es una mujer decidida que en un momento de desesperación toma el rumbo de su vida en sus manos y no sólo eso, sabe que sus decisiones tienen consecuencias y nunca trata de no cumplir con ellas. Por el contrario, las tiene muy presentes.
Otra cosa que me gusto mucho, a parte del romance a fuego lento aunque con evidente atracción incluso desde el principio, es que no hay milagros. Ambos son conscientes de que hay limitaciones pero en lugar de recrearse en ellas aprovechan lo mejor que tienen y las cosas buenas de las que pueden disfrutar.
En definitiva, una lectura muy recomendada....more

Ha sido una historia dulce principalmente porque Knight es un amor. Ha estado enamorado de ella desde que era apenas un crío y a pesar de no haber tenido una vida fácil siempre la ha tenido en mente.

El final se sintió muy apresurado y la autora falla en calcular bien el tiempo transcurrido ya que hace que el invierno dure como 6 meses mínimo.
Por otro lado, la personalidad del antagonista principal no está bien construida y ciertos hechos se sienten que suceden sin más simplemente respondiendo a un plan de la autora que quería llegar a determinado lado y necesita que ciertas cosas sucedan y ya está. Incluso si no son lógicas. Tampoco es que los personajes principales sean coherentes del todo porque para todo el bagaje que cargan cambian de opinión y pasan por alto cosas importantes muy rápidamente. Nuevamente, me parece que la autora falla al saber construir a sus personajes.
Además, tiene varios fallos tipográficos y gramaticales que se agravan hacía el final, aunque no lo suficientemente graves como para que me hicieran dejar de leer. Probablemente porque al leer en un idioma que no es el mío nativo me es más fácil pasar esos fallos por alto. En español a lo mejor me sangraban los ojos.

Hasta el momento me había resistido a ellas no del todo convencida, por lo que no resulta raro que para aventurarme haya decidido optar por una historia de Flora Ferrari porque suele significar apostar sobre seguro ya que sé exactamente lo que me voy a encontrar.
No descarto que haya buenas historias con esta situación de trasfondo pero definitivamente no voy a volver a leer ninguna de ellas. No ahora al menos puesto que no consigue servirme de evasión.
No podía evitar pensar en como un amigo enfermero se pasó semanas con protección casi inexistente, con guantes dos tallas más pequeñas o como acababa con las manos casi en carne viva de tanto lavárselas. Ni como otro amigo médico iba sorteando pacientes tendidos en el suelo de pasillos atestados o como yo misma iba abriendo puertas con los codos, hablando con los compañeros a distancia y echando gel desinfectante en el teclado y el teléfono en esos primeros días en los que todavía no nos habían aprobado el teletrabajo con más miedo de que a través de mí lo pudiera pillar mi madre, que es factor de riesgo, antes de lo que me pudiera suponer a mí misma. Ni me olvido de esas personas a las que se les están amontonando facturas sin recursos para pagarlas, y que cuando se alivie la situación sanitaria empezaran con la económica.
Tampoco habría estado mal que la autora hubiera puesto un poco más de cuidado o se hubiera informado un poco más. Me encantaría ver cómo alguien es capaz de hacerse con un ramo de rosas ahora mismo o como entra uno a un hotel donde hay gente confinada si es entrar al supermercado y tienes hasta un guardia de seguridad por si se te “olvida” desinfectarte las manos o coger guantes. Pero lo peor es la visita de ella al hospital cuando nadie puede ir a ver a sus seres queridos. Ni siquiera darles un adiós adecuado a aquellos que no lo lograron y a los que a veces se llevan a funerarias lejanas porque no dan abasto. Me parece que ha frivolizado la situación demasiado, que no descarto que fuera su intención para quitarle hierro al asunto pero a mi modo de ver se ha pasado un pelín. Además, y si no lo digo reviento… El Espacio Schengen no tiene nada que ver con Estados Unidos.
Tampoco es una mala lectura, es entretenida sólo que antes que esta hubiera escogido cualquier otra....more

Sin embargo, Isaac se acaba ganando el corazón de Millie y en el camino el mío.
Y es que Isaac con todo lo que ha tenido que enfrentar tras su paso por la guerra y lo que supone además su regreso sin un brazo y con esa forma de ser caballerosa y fuerte con cierta vulnerabilidad se hace difícil de resistir.

No obstante, ninguno de los dos es claro con sus sentimientos por el miedo a no ser correspondidos, por los 15 años que los separan y por el que dirán que tanto asusta cuando se enfrenta una relación que se sale de lo que todo el mundo considera normal.
