And to make amends for an incident that happened years ago when he stopped Kit Danby's wedding. Beckett knows that there's a pretty good chance he'll be arrested once the police know he's back in town considering that he stole a car and then wrecked it prior to leaving town. Kit Danby's supposed to be in London. But she's back in Maple Valley and trying to make sense of her life. Her family's apple orchard is in danger of closing, and Kit begs her father to allow her to make a go of it for the season. When trouble strikes, Kit turns to her best friend from childhood, Beckett, for assistance. Beckett's got to do a lot of community service and Kit's orchard is the place to do it. But can he keep from falling for his best friend - again?
Melissa's books always make me smile. Over the past few books, I've gotten to know the Walker family, and I love them. I love the way that the siblings pull together when they need to. I also love the way that they tease each other.
Beckett and Kit were a cute couple. I thought that they did well together. Of course it's fun to see the other siblings as well. I am looking forward to Raegan's story.

She wants a man with a title. She has planned her debut down to the last detail, and is determined to be the belle of the season. Colin McCrae has money and business connections, but no title. Due to his powerful connections, he is invited everywhere. The few encounters that he has had with Lady Georgina, he finds her shallow and selfish. But Lady Georgina has a secret. One that Colin is too close to discovering. Yet despite their mutual dislike of each other, there is an attraction that neither one is ready to admit. Will love be sacrificed to make dreams come true?
When I read the first book in this series last fall, I absolutely adored it. I loved the relationships between the Hawthorne siblings. So I was thrilled to be able to read this book. It's been on my radar since I finished the first one.
This book starts before the end of the first one, but several of the scenes are from a different perspective. I loved Colin. I thought he was classy and had a sense of humor. I didn't like Georgina, though she did grow on me. I found Georgina to be spoiled, selfish, and shallow. I'll admit that by the end of the book, I had come to not only feel bad for her, but to like her as well.
I loved the Hawthorne siblings. I can't wait to see them again.

It's been a while since I read one of Sarah Ladd's books. I've forgotten how much I enjoyed them.
While this is book 2 in the series, it stands alone, and one does not need to have read book 1 in order to enjoy this one. I was quickly drawn into the story, and I found myself intrigued by Isabel.
As for the two men who vie for her attention and affection, there was one I liked more than the other. I was rooting for him the entire time.
I also enjoyed the fact that this book had a touch of mystery in it that added to the richness of the story.

I'd seen him as a minor character in the first three books, so I wanted to see how he'd develop when finally given his own story. I saw a lot of changes in him from book one to this one. And I liked what I saw him become. First he grew up. His life choices hadn't always been the best and he was rather selfish. In this book, he became a man his family could be proud of. I loved how he championed Violet. I loved how Violet realized that he was better than what he thought of himself.
Overall, I'd have to say that this series was very good. The books build on each other, and they do need to be read in order.

Now, Avery's Five years ago, Avery Truitt met Prince Colin of Brighton Kingdom. Five years ago, she fell in love. Five years ago, he broke her heart. Now, Avery's trying to find a coaching job as a volleyball coach. When she and her mother travel to Brighton to spend the Christmas season with her sister Susanna and brother-in-law, King Nathaniel. Susanna's pregnancy is helping to ease the sadness Avery has felt since her father's passing six months ago. Avery knows that she will have to see Prince Colin again. But she's not sure if her heart can take it. Prince Colin finds himself in the center of a centuries old tradition involving Cathedral City's Christmas Season, the Pembroke Chapel Bell, and the speculation regarding that he rang the bell to announce his engagement. Yet Colin's never really stopped loving Avery. Can he convince her that he's sorry for breaking her heart and to give him a second chance by marrying him on Christmas morning as the tradition dictates?
Ever since I read Once Upon a Prince, I have wanted Avery and Colin's story. I kept hoping that they'd end up together. Like the others in this series, I found this book to be utterly delightful.
I loved seeing how Avery has grown up from the teen she was in the first book to the beautiful, confident woman we see in this one. I also love how Colin readily admitted that he still loved her. While there were obstacles to overcome, I loved seeing how they both chose to follow their hearts.
This is by far a perfect conclusion to the Royal Wedding Series.

Now Cody's getting married and will soon be a father as well. Evie begins to feel an entirely different form of loneliness. Always organized and sticking to a schedule, Evie has no idea how much her life is about to change dramatically. Jack Vale has been hired to fill in as the church's handyman. He's a man who lives his life moment to moment. His appearance raises more than a few eyebrows around the community. But as Evie gets drawn into Jack's life and world, she learns that sometimes spur of the moment is better than a safe, secure plan. But can Evie learn to let go of herself enough to fall in love again?
Last year when I read the first book in this series, Dandelion Field, I loved the book, but didn't like Evie too much. At first. But when I saw that there was going to be a second book about Barrister Falls, I was excited. Because I wanted to know more about the characters, and I wanted to see if Evie continued to grow on me as she did towards the end of the first book.
While I didn't love love love this book like I did the first, I still enjoyed it very much so. I loved seeing Evie be drawn out more and more. I ADORED Jack. I thought he was wonderful in the way that he related to Evie, tried to take care of his brother, and was there for all of the tenants in his building. But he was pretty deep too. He knew that he wasn't perfect, but he tried to show how Christ had changed him.
I loved how Jack actually saw Evie. And what I mean by that is that he actually saw through her facade and deep into her soul. He recognized (and encouraged) her to be herself. To have fun. To let go. I also loved catching up with Cody, Raine, Dan, and Gin.
This book does stand alone, but the story is much richer if you read Dandelion Field first. If this is the last one about this town, that's fine. But I could easily see stories for Nicki, Maggie, and some of the others.

With the isolation of the lighthouse that Tom's been appointed as the assistant keeper, Victoria must learn to live without the luxuries she's grown up with. But is she really safe? And even more importantly, is her heart safe from Tom?
I've loved each book in the Beacons of Hope Series. I love how Jody is able to take characters that need to have hope in their lives and turn them into something beautiful.
Let me be honest. I didn't like Victoria when I first met her. I thought that she was spoiled, and a bit of a brat. But as the story went on, I did come to like her.
I loved Tom though. I loved how he struggled to keep Victoria safe from himself. And I ADORED Tom's parents. They were awesome!
One of the things I've loved about this series is that there is a small wooden cross that has passed from person to person. It went from Isabella to Emma to Ryan to Tessa to Victoria and finally to Nathaniel. I love how when it comes to each person, that there is a moment when they need hope. I also love how this series could just keep going. If this is the conclusion, then that's great. If it's not, then I'm looking forward to Nathaniel's story.

I remember first meeting Betsy when she was a child in one of the author's other books. I couldn't wait to see her grow up and fall in love.
Betsy is spunky. She's determined. She's a bit unconventional. But she's got a good heart. And I loved how she interacted with Joel. Even to the point that she was beginning to confuse real life with her fictional hero. I loved how she tried to make things right when she realized what she'd done to Joel. Joel is perfect for Betsy. He has a way about really seeing her that I loved.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book. It was fun, full of witty banter, and just very uplifting. I didn't have to think as I read this book.

With a determination to keep his young daughter from danger, and Lady Ella, Cayton has to risk his heart. Can he open himself up to love?
This is the conclusion of the Ladies of the Manor series. It really is best to read them in order to follow the Fire Eyes on their journey.
I liked Lady Ella from the time that I first met her. I thought that she was very bubbly and a sweet. I wasn't wrong. But in this, her story, I learned that she's so much more than what she had first seemed. She's got a depth to her that I didn't expect. I loved how she and Cayton kept insisting that they didn't like each other, but you could tell that they did.
I loved watching how Cayton changed from the first book to this one. He redeemed himself from his actions in the first book in this one. I loved how he finally recognized what he was supposed to do and did it.
I really enjoyed this entire series. Book 2 was my favorite though.

After renting the second book from the library and finishing it, I dived into this one. This one picked right up where the second one left off. I liked Selah from the beginning of the series. One of the best things was watching her grow and develop in this one. She's learned to control her powers. I also loved how she learned to trust others. I have to admit that this one was hard for me to get into. I'm not saying that I didn't enjoy it, just that I had a hard time getting into the book. Still as the book went along, I was swept away into the beauty of both the story and the setting of Prince Edward Island.
I enjoyed getting to know both Caden and Adam. I loved seeing what came out of Caden's kitchen and watching Adam fall in love with her.

It's the final one in the series, and I've enjoyed seeing Finn as a minor character in the first two books. To actually be able to read his story and see him have his happily ever after was quite fun.
I read this book pretty quickly. The plot drew me in in the first few pages and kept me turning pages until the very end. I really think that I like the author's romantic suspense books better than her contemporary romance ones.
As for the characters, I wanted to see how Finn was going to overcome the injury he'd suffered earlier in the series. I loved reconnecting with Mac and Lance. I loved how protective of Dana that Finn was. I also enjoyed seeing their banter back and forth as they fell in love.

I also loved how determined he was to truly show he had changed. I loved how Dani was able to find where she actually belonged.

It's been on my list for a long time as the author is one of my favorites. So I started reading it. Over the course of a weekend, I was in engrossed in John and Polly's story.
I never realized how exciting of a time that these two lived in. I also never knew exactly what sort of obstacles that God put in Newton's path to get his attention.

He's running the family cattle ranch and trying to track down some rustlers. He's never forgotten the girl next door though. When he learns that the one woman who stole his heart years ago has moved in next door, he can't help but see this as a second chance. Despite the fact that she wants nothing to do with him or love. But as their lives collide, will Cassidy recognize the fact that not all men are like her ex-husband, and will she give the cowboy she still loves a second chance?
Whenever I read one of Debra Clopton's books, I know a couple of things. First, there will be cowboys. Second, it's usually hilarious. This book is true on both accounts. It's the third in the series, but does stand alone.
I loved Jarrod's pursuit of Cassidy. I loved that he realized when he was rushing her and took a step back. But I also loved how he was the wonderful good neighbor and was there to help her out when she needed it. I thought that Cassidy was a little too determined to hang onto her plans.
The secondary characters, as usual, are delightful. I love the town of Wishing Springs and the people who live there. In this one, I really liked Doc's pig Clover.
It's a quick read. I also found it to be very light-hearted.
