I'm definitely These characters got my attention right away and I enjoyed all of them, the main couple and the side characters. Well maybe minus one. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing what's going to come next from the Ranger family!
The story was intriguing and I did enjoy it but I can't say I loved it. It was just missing something to keep me truly captivated, especially near the end when things seemed to move way too fast. It felt like important information was missing and was skimmed over just to get to the HEA. ...more

I was not prepared for this book! My emotions are raw after finishing this one and I needed the rest of the night just to gather all of my thoughts and feelings. The story took a complete turn from where I thought it would lead but I loved it and it had me falling for these characters so hard. I just wanted to give West a hug and make everything better for him but seeing Adrik take that roll was even better.
I absolutely loved Adrik and how he was with West. Their attraction was so strong and I really liked that even though they both tried to fight it at first, they just couldn't. It was a very real and adorable relationship that had me captivated. And when things got even more complicated between them it only had me loving their characters even more.
Overall, this was a surprisingly deep and emotional story but it was also a very cute one. I was dying for this story from the moment I read the ending of the previous book and I can now say that it was well worth the wait.

Neat was an intriguing story and I really liked the opposites-attract premise that it had. Logan and Mallory were so fun to read about and one of the big reasons I liked them so much was because they suited each other so well. Where Logan was organized and living life in black and white, Mallory was carefree and colorful. Seeing how well they came together had me devouring the book, especially when I was dying for them to give in to their chemistry.
And the story was also very intriguing itself. There was an underlying story going on surrounding Logan's family, especially his deceased father, that I was very interested in. And even though that story wasn't exactly resolved, I'm super excited to continue that in the next Becker brother's book.

I have so much that I want to say about Bad Saint but so much that I can't say because I don't want to accidentally give anything away. Which means I've pretty much been doing nothing but staring at my laptop for the past twenty minutes trying to think of the words to describe this book and so far all I've come up with is - more please!
This is the type of book that while I'm reading I'm constantly telling myself to stop lusting over the psycho. Saint was such a large energy in this story and from the beginning I found myself captivated and sucked into that energy. He is not a character that you will swoon over at sweet or loving moments. No, Saint is the hero that acts completely savage and ruins your panties. Aka one of the best heroes anti-heroes out there. He was unpredictable and constantly surprising me. When I thought he was going be rough and mean, he added some softness, and when I thought he was going to finally see Willow as more than his captive, he was doing something to break her. I couldn't keep up with his back and forth moods buy holy hell was it brilliant. He kept me on my toes the whole book and I loved that experience.
As for Willow, she was kickass. I really liked seeing how she didn't back down from the fight and even though Saint tried, he couldn't break her spirit. It's also what had me dying to see her and Saint together as more than kidnapper/kidnappee since they both had such strong personalities. I just know that they're going to explode together so it's going to be a very impatient wait for more of their story.
Bottom line, this story took me on one crazy ride and it's one I think anyone that likes dark romance should give a try. There's clearly so much more to come from these characters so I'm really excited to get the next installment of their story.

This was shockingly a pretty sweet book which was surprising since the King series typically has some very dark undertones to it. Don't get me wrong, this book still had a lot of things that most people would consider dark, yet the characters somehow kept a lightness about them. Mostly because Kevin, aka Nine, was adorable when it came to Lenny and his interactions with her. I really liked the cuteness of the characters and how it mixed with the craziness surrounding them.
T.M Frazier always brings the crazy into her books and manages to keep me in suspense through every page, and this one was no different. We got to see some of the past characters pop up, which was amazing since it was just small little things that showed how they were doing. There was a lot going on but the fast pace of the story kept me intrigued and it never felt like too much happening at one time.
I do have to say that I'm still feeling a little iffy on the character development. I just feel like there was room for so much more fleshing out of these characters and I would have loved to see that. Nine's past, for me, could have used just a little more detail, especially for the time between where he met Lenny and how he then got to where he was for the present. As for Lenny, my biggest issue was her anxiety. I don't mean this in any mean way and I know anxiety is different for every person, but it made it hard for me to connect to her when I felt like we were told she suffered from anxiety more than we were shown what that meant for her life. It was like the book started off with a lot more details of how she dealt with her anxiety and then by the middle it died down to only being mentioned that she did get anxious over certain things. But again, never shown.
Overall, I'm so sad to see this series end but it was a really good ending. I definitely felt like we got the closure we needed for all of the King characters, though I'm sure it's not the last we'll see of them. For some this book could probably be read as a standalone with no issue, but I would recommend reading the series together to avoid spoilers or confusing scenes.

The O’Rourke brothers have been nothing but great this entire series and Liam was no exception. I really enjoyed his loyalty to his family and how fast he was to bring Velvet into his life and feel so strongly for her so quick. Velvet was just as amazing as Liam and I loved how strong she was. Even when she was at her lowest point she never gave up fighting and I really liked that about her. They had an amazing chemistry that made the fast pace totally believable and had me intrigued to find out what exactly would happen when the secrets between them were revealed.
Overall, this was a brilliant read and a great addition to this series. I'm already dying to get my hands on the next one and I can't wait to see what the next O’Rourke brother has in store for us....more

I've had this book on my Kindle for awhile from a One-Click binge I went on when I was attempting to clean up my TBR shelf. I'm pretty much just kicking myself for letting it wait so long now since I really enjoyed this story. Mela was a great character to read about and I liked that we got to see the difference in her strength from the beginning of the book to the end. The story didn't focus a lot on her building that strength but it was still very evident that she had become a lot stronger in her years in hiding. She and Jackson worked well together which was fun to see. They had some amazing chemistry between them that was heating up the book and had me intrigued.
Overall, if you haven't read this story I highly recommend doing so. I'm also super curious about Mela's sister Ari and if she and Rock will ever get a story....more

A tattoo artist heroine will always pique my interest because I just don't see enough of them in the romance world, and I love books that focus on the world of tattooing. That's what had me instantly ready with grabby hands to accept this ARC and I'm extremely happy that I got to read this book. Samantha is one of the craziest heroine I've read about which made her perfect. She definitely kept me interested in this story and I have to say she was my favorite character from it.
What was even better was seeing her with Scott, aka Galahad, and just how crazy he could make her. The two had this push-pull type of relationship that I found very fun to read about. I never knew if they would be fighting or if they would be ripping each other's clothes off. Their past was also brought into the story a lot, which is usually a very iffy thing for me, but in this case I actually enjoyed getting to see them as their younger selves and all the pranks they would pull on each other.
Overall, I definitely recommend reading this book. It was sexy and intriguing, and even funny at times. I am a little on the fence about the sisters' stories to come but Nicole and Tabby do have me intrigued so I know I'll be reading them....more

After the way the previous book ended I was ready to pounce on Chance Encounters as soon as I got it since I've been waiting to see what was going to happen. And I can certainly say that this story did not disappoint and was well worth the wait. Winona and Nick were great together. They threw off some Jess and Eleanor vibes from the first book with how complicated their relationship was, but it was never anything too much that made me feel like it was too similar. Instead I got to enjoy a different kind of friendship-first-then-romance.
This is my second book from Scarlett Hopper and I can already tell she likes to throw in those angsty moments where you're not sure if you want push the characters together or slap both of them. I love it though! I feel like it's a really good mix of drama and romance so those high-angst moments only add to how intriguing the story is instead of becoming frustrating. I'm a big fan of that mixture and I think this author does a wonderful job keeping these books interesting without going overboard.
As for Nick and Winona, I enjoyed both of them. We had seen a little of Nick in the previous book but in his own story it solidified the fact that I thought he was a great hero. I actually felt a lot for these characters and I liked those emotions they were able to bring out in me. Winona is the one that spoke to me the most though. She had a really hard inner struggle, which I had guessed early on what it was, but watching her go through that basically alone for so long was heartbreaking. I was so happy when she finally got to open up to Nick and it made their relationship so much stronger in my opinion.
Bottom line, this is definitely a book I would recommend. It doesn't really have any spoilers about the first book so you could certainly read it as a standalone. Jess and Eleanor are featured though so if you're anything like me they will have you insanely curious about their own story.

Wicked Design was my first novel from Tina Donahue and really caught my attention with the blurb. I started out excited to read about a tattoo [image]
Wicked Design was my first novel from Tina Donahue and really caught my attention with the blurb. I started out excited to read about a tattoo artist and the woman that was going to make him notice her, but unfortunately that excitement didn't last too long.
A big problem that I had was that the writing style wasn't something I could connect with. One of the main things was the dialogue between characters, which just didn't flow in my opinion. Honestly the way these characters spoke was a little, for lack of a better word, odd.
"The 'in' crowd boogying wildly."
or
"What he was saying killed Clover, and she'd had to interrupt. 'They were turds, okay?'"
If I wasn't told that these characters were in their mid-twenties I would have thought they were in high school, if not even younger. Other than for the way they spoke, with the use of "boogying" and other terms that I associate with older people trying to sound, what they think is, youthful, they never acted older than kids.
So much of this book was focused on the hero whining like a baby about how the "cool" people never liked him and made fun of me. I had to roll my eyes so hard at the shit he would say and worry about. It was something that made me hate his character, mostly because it annoyed me, but also because every time he would bring that up it was like he was saying the heroine wasn't good enough and that he still needed the validity of who he deemed "cool."
"Cool people have never paid attention to me like they have to you, except the make fun and tell me what a troll I am.
And then if you strip away the whiny parts from the hero all you were left with were mostly sex scenes where the heroine seemed to be trying to discover a, maybe, hidden part of her where she wanted some lite-BDSM. I didn't fully understand what was going on with that aspect of the story, it was like the author wanted it to be a sexy/kinky type of thing but then never fully committed so it ended up seeming out place the times that it was mentioned.
So with only a bunch of complaining and then sex scenes I never actually felt a connection between the characters. I think we probably only saw, in detail, about two or three dates they had and the rest were skimmed over. Not that there were too many that I remember being mentioned. So then when you get the random declaration of love I didn't believe it, especially since the reasoning didn't speak of love to me.
"I knew for sure I loved you when you got me the pimp shirt." She laughed and sobered quickly. "Dudes your age wear stuff like that all the time."

Bottom line, this was clearly not the book for me. I think the storyline started out interesting and overall there were some good ideas in this book, but they didn't all actually work out in a way I could appreciate....more

Turn takes readers back to the Gentry family with Cassie Gentry. Feeling a little lost in her life she takes a job at her dad's tattoo shop for the summer. Which puts her right in the path of Curtis Mulligan, her dad's new hire and her new fantasy.
Cassie and Curtis had a fun story and I liked that they both kind of underestimated the other. Curtis thinking Cassie was nothing more than her father's spoiler princess, and she thinking Curtis was a rude wanna-be bad boy. It made for an interesting read and kept me captivated the entire time.
They both had a lot going on in their personal life, which I liked getting to learn since it added some extra intrigue to the story. It took the focus off of them as a couple just a little though and I did wish that we got a little more of them together, but I was still happy with their relationship. ...more
