Oh my, this series continues to excite my imagination.
I love seeing the 6-year-old twins. They have a few highlighted scenes here and there. They do not dominate the book. I loved meeting Diana Bishop’s (paternal) side of the family. I love the new magical elements we see in the Proctor property and I appreciate that it is very different from the Bishop’s home property.
I have always loved that Diana was a white witch practitioner. I am uncomfortable with her new course. I am excited that this series still thriving. I hope it doesn’t take too long for the next release.

You may really enjoy Oh my, this book took me many starts and stops to finish. I pushed through with this one because Book 13 is soon to be released. You may really enjoy this one. It just felt very boring to me. Not all books in a series are amazing. I think I’m mostly entertained by the library and the crazy trouble caused by the books when they fight like children.
All the action in this story took place away from my favorite setting, thus my rating. I will try book 13. I hope it wows me....more

3.5 stars. It took me a while to settle into this story. Maybe reading 8 books in a series back-to-back wasn’t the best way to approach this journey. But I’m still here and I’m still interested in this witchy cozy.
We finally started to learn some of the things written in the mysterious journal! There is also a deadly curse, a missing Reaper, and much more. It is well worth your time to read this one....more

This book started off slowly for me. I don’t usually binge read entire series. However, it didn’t take long for the story to pick up and grab my attention.
I want to be a librarian in a magical library. Their job is never boring, especially when the books start fighting with each other!
Somehow a few “normals” have found their way into the magical town. Considering there is someone/something murdering vampires, tensions are high and the politics between the vampires and the rest of the magical folk intensifies.
There were a couple twists and turns which kept the tensions high and the plot just kept getting better. A good read!...more

I’m very happy with this story. It held my interest and made me laugh. I’m understanding Aunt Candace and Cass a little bit more. They were my least favorite characters. However, seeing them in this book makes me like them slightly more than before.
I look forward to the next book in the series....more

This was a fun romp, despite grammatical errors which have nothing to do with spelling differences between British English and American English. I am enjoying the addition of the Grim Reaper’s magic. I am happy that each book has been built on different models. It is nice to see unique story lines rather than the formulaic plots some writers use.

The last book ended with an exciting cliffhanger. I was excited to see the confrontation between the two characters. However, this book started a few weeks later and we learn that the new story claims the two characters meet for the first time in this book. Points off for that error.
Otherwise, the story was exciting and a real page turner. The plot is complicated. I had to go back and reread a couple of paragraphs to fully understand the action. If you are willing to give your attention to this story, I think you will love the plot and the action as much as I did. This magic system is getting more interesting with every story....more

The character deBook Two continues very nicely to add to Aurora’s knowledge of the library, her magic, and the spooky beings who inhabit her new town.
The character development is very well written. The world building is done in such a way that the author only has to give me a couple of sentences and my imagination builds the rest. I am in love with this little English seaside town.
Of course there is murder, broken and new romances. Kelpies escaping inside the library. And Rory learned how to supercharge her spells!
While this book ends with a satisfactory conclusion to the “who-dunnit” part of the story, the author adds an amazing teaser that makes me want to download and read book three right now!...more

This witchy story comes with a very unique form of magic. We get to discover the magic with a young woman raised as a normal. (Harry Potter would say Muggle.). When she finds her life being threatened, her magic suddenly reveals itself.
