Let go from her job, Charley is trying to start her own assessment company. When her new client, the one who could really get her name out there, ends up being the same man who tried to steal her milk, she’s got concerns. He’s a complete adrenaline junkie, lives an outrageous life and she’s extremely attracted to him. But when her best friend finagles them into going on a trip together, she’s wondering who the risk taker is now?
’He was nothing but the shiny object that would derail her from her plans. The bell to her bird. The squirrel to her dog. Her kryptonite.’
[image]
Despite being careful about everything in her life, Charley always ends up in one botched up situation or another. She’s adorkable, accident prone, and too cute for words. I enjoyed watching her try to avoid her attraction to Chris, knowing it was a losing battle. ’He was like a great big ball of golden sunshine that warmed and cheered everyone around him, no matter what their intentions. The man was contagious.’
[image]
Chris lives for the adrenaline high, living life on the edge. I loved that he challenged Charley and drew her out of her protective shell.
’The woman had uptight down to a science. And he knew just how to make her unravel.’
From the very beginning they had a spark that grew into intense heat. Their reasons for ignoring the chemistry between themselves believable.
This couple were so much fun together. The banter is sharp and quick, cute and engaging. There were some hilarious moments as Charley got herself, and him by association, into various situations. I was a bit disappointed that this character trait tended to die down as the story progressed. However, it was enough to enjoy the thought that the risk assessor was more at risk than the one being assessed.
This is a story that will immediately pull you in due to the meet cute and then the continued cute which eventually moves into emotional involvement between the hero and heroine. The conflict was a bit under thought but didn’t take long to resolve. The angst level is definitely low and the heat, once they gave in, was pretty steamy. Mostly, this is just a great feel good story with wonderful characters that make you smile.

For Vivienne, time is runnOh my gawd! I am absolutely in love with Vivienne and Jason as well as the rowdy group of characters that orbit their lives.
For Vivienne, time is running out to build the perfect family. Mr. Right is nowhere in sight and the hot cab driver she just spent the night with is definitely not him. Their age difference alone is enough to clue her in to that fact. So with a tin of muffins, a smile, and a distracting kiss goodbye, she sends him on his way. Three months later, and still no hope in sight, she finds her cab driver once again in charge of getting her home. She may have long term goals that Jason will never fit into, but she’s certainly going to enjoy him while she can.
Jason was gone on Vivienne from the first moment she crawled into his car. After a night of intense pleasure and a connection he’s never felt with another woman, he’s shocked to find himself being the dumped rather than the dumpee the following morning. However, when the opportunity arises to see her again he takes the chance and the rest is history. Well, not exactly. There’s a lot of crazy that goes in between their re-connection and their happy ever after and I loved every minute of it.
Despite the conflicts this couple faced, this was such a fun story. Jason was laid back and easy going with a bit of a jealous, possessive streak in him. He might have been younger than Vivienne but that never deterred him from wanting her.
Vivienne had some issues she had to work through but she had the help of her friends and co-workers to assist her when she got caught up in her own head. They were freaking hilarious. There’s a bit of a twist to their story that I’ve never read before and I was fully invested in finding out how things were going to work out between this couple.
This is a fast paced read with some intense steam and a wonderful connection between the hero and heroine. I would’ve liked to have seen a bit more of them together, and a little less of the friends but I enjoyed the friends so much I can’t really complain. There’s a nice little epilogue that takes us into the future a few years and made me a very happy reader!

I was so excited to get my hands on this book. I’ve loved everything about this sister and couldn’t wait to see how her story was going to play out. To be paired up with her phantom? Oh my! It was absolutely thrilling!
I appreciated Verity’s strength and independence. For a woman of her time she was more than capable of doing her part in the sister’s business as well as holding her own within society. It was so fun to watch her meeting with Rafe and her suspicions of him being her Jack in the Green. As they continue to meet, her suspicions continue to grow and I couldn’t wait to find out what her reaction was going to be.
While Rafe isn’t the most alpha of heroes in this series, he won my heart not only by his relationship with his uncle, but by his concern over Verity’s reaction when his truth would be revealed. And just because he wasn’t the most alpha does not mean he didn’t hold his own. His actions with Verity were hot and steamy as well as deeply, achingly protective. And oh my! At one point my heart just ached for him.
This was so much fun reading! It’s filled with everything I love about historical romance and it felt genuine to the time. With the perfect blend of humor, mystery, steamy goodness and angst, this was pure perfection for me. Add in the fact that at one time I found myself actually welling up and swallowing down tears, and this makes my first favorite of the year.

I absolutely love this author’s heroes, but she also does heroines that are impossible to forget and Millie is definitely going to be one of those. She is inventive and quirky and her unique abilities had me wishing she were real and in my life. I loved absolutely everything about her. Once the story line kicks in and we learn what has happened with her, it was like a fist to the gut.
Scott was perfect for Millie. He was sweet and kind, and not a pushy alpha male that would trample all over her. That’s not to say he wasn’t protective, because he is that and so much more. I loved the organic way their relationship developed and his progression into falling for her.
This story line was a bit darker than expected but not so dark as to turn me away. I actually found this to be impossible to put down. The earlier cast of the series makes an appearance and I have to say that Wolf and Cat once more stole every scene they were in. I will never get tired of him and his own quirky ways. He’s a great big, scary marshmallow. When you add that with Roscoe's crazy behaviors, the tone of the story is leveled and absolutely perfect.

Georgia was such a feisty fireball. She really had the gift of revenge although it never seemed to quite hit its mark which added a level of humor that had me grinning throughout most of the book. Dominic was her main target and I quickly fell in love with him because he found her just as amusing as I did.
This is a no to low angst read with not only a wonderful hero and heroine, but secondary characters that added to the laugh out loud moments. I’m looking forward to more from them.

I love a strong protective hero and Crash is over the top with it in the most delicious way. He's got all the big, bad, jealous characteristics. The fact that he's so clueless about relationships, and women in a relationship, is all kinds of delightful.
I found myself smiling pretty much through this whole book. The humor is perfect. Not immature and not raunchy but with a sweetness to it that pulls you into the story on its own. Add in the danger that stirs all the characters up and the ongoing discussion between Crash and Mary and I was a satisfied reader. And then I became a happy blubbering mess at its conclusion and I loved it!

I really love the town and the quirky residents that live there. Ethan surprised me this time around as the author showed me what he was really made of and what caused him to make the decisions he did. I absolutely loved Darby. She was what I wish I could be. She embraced all her desires and didn’t let others dictate her actions. Her love of all things vintage totally won me over.
While there were a lot of times this couple’s relationship was not the sole focus of the story, when they were together they set my kindle on fire. This was a fast paced story that was relatively low angst with just a bump here and there to keep me questioning how things were going to work out.

Jane and Adrian (and Leo) had me laughing out loud from their first meeting. Adrian's inner voices this author gives to her characters was hilarious! I'm going to have a hard time watching any scenes with Yoda in the future.
Despite the raucous humor that runs through this story, there were a few real issues that both Adrian and Jane had to work through in their own lives. With a nice little twist I never saw coming, I was thrilled how things worked out for each of them separately and together as a couple.
This is a fast read that I gobbled down in one afternoon. The chemistry is real, even if it did make me laugh, and the growing relationship was one I was cheering for. Everything by these authors leaves me smiling and content when I turn the last page. I highly recommend this if you like hard core romantic comedy.

Cole was freaking amazing! I loved how he was drawn to her even before they met. He was not a warm cuddly hero and that had me whooping for joy when he found himself falling heart first for her. He was the very definition of the mighty have fallen.

Shay and Cole's journey was filled with sizzling intensity, scenes so hot they just about melted my Kindle, and angst so heart wrenching I wanted to throw the book across the room. Everything in between had me laughing out loud, encouraging them on, and cranking down the air conditioner.

Aldo was such a sweet, warm-hearted hero. His longing for Gloria was never in question. Even when things went south for him, his thoughts were of her. I fell in love with his wit and charm in the first book of this series, and he grew all the sweeter, all the more charming in this one. He’s definitely a top favorite hero for me.
Gloria had a rough, rocky, nightmarish past and I loved that she found the fortitude to break free from that on her own. After all that bad, to find something so perfectly imperfect with Aldo had me feeling all the things. I found myself laughing, crying, and cheering them on.

This is exactly what I look for when settling down with a romance. This is a bit long but it never lost my attention or made me want to skim. I was glued to every word, every action, and every emotion throughout this story. And then the author made sure I would always remember these characters by giving me not one, but two epilogues filled with love, laughter and family.

I loved that an act of protection was the thing that brought this couple together. The fact that Katiana was a small child when this took place only added to the charm of their story. Once they are reunited their quick banter and witty flirtations solidified my total enjoyment in this book.
While this does deal with a bit of political drama, it does not consume the story line but adds a touch of flavor to it. There is definitely some danger and struggle from a different source that had me turning the pages as fast as possible to reach the resolution. This was my first by this author and I’m definitely planning to dig deeper into her rich and luscious backlist.

While we didn’t get Gunther’s point of view or really know for sure what he was thinking or feeling, Honey never kept us guessing. She was such a fun heroine with her constant need for a better bargain and her abhorrence at the thought of blood, much less the sight of it. I loved everything about her, including Bunny, her cat that quite possibly could be a serial killer.

Despite her painful past, Haven was a fun, quirky heroine that I loved immediately. She had so many little things about her that I connected with. My heart hurt throughout the book as the fact that she was there only temporarily was never forgotten. And oh my! I needed her to find peace, comfort, and security. Rarely do I have such strong emotions regarding a heroine but it was imperative that Haven have her happy ever after. While I knew she would, the angst of getting to that point just about killed me.
I adored Travis! He was so caught up in Haven it was practically swoon worthy. The fact that he had a three legged cat as a little buddy pretty much finished the melting of my heart. His past was just as brutal as Haven’s but in a different way and watching these two characters find healing within themselves as they fell in love made for one of the most beautiful stories I’ve read in a while.

Britt and Aiden were fire together! I had so much fun watching them fall in love. While this is full of explosive chemistry and laugh out loud moments, this couple had some real issues to overcome both separately and as a couple. The angst was relatively low up until that point but when things took a turn, my heart shattered. This book really hit me in all the feels and it’s been a long time since that’s happened.
Along with all the falling in love, there was a mystery that started out relatively light but was layered on top of other lightweight crimes. However, that soon changed and Britt and Aiden were faced with real danger. I tried to figure out who the who-done-it was but failed with each guess. And holy heck, I bit my nails completely off before I reached the conclusion.

Once more, I was unable to identify the killer prior to the reveal. I was shocked when it happened and thrilled that this author caught me off guard. There were several times when the danger level amped up and this heroine found herself in a tricky situation.

Sunny continues to amaze me with her deductive reasoning, her people skills, and most of all, her offbeat wit and sense of humor. I love the way she deals with both victims and perpetrators. Especially the band of hooligans she arrests this time around. My face hurt from grinning so much.

We get a lot of quality time with Levi in this book and even more of him with Sunny. I would love to have some of his perspective so I could connect to him on a deeper level. However, there are a lot of reveals in this book and that went a long way to helping me get to know him better.

His attitude towards her determined that she was going to stay far away, emotionally, even if she couldn’t distance herself physically.. This was so much like the little boy that dunks the girl’s hair in the inkwell. We all know what he’s really saying. Without ever having Rafe’s point of view, it was obvious what he felt. That made this all the more exciting.

The house party atmosphere was wonderful as it gave the activities a feel of another time and place without losing the contemporary attitude of the characters. His outlook on life as he hunted and took care of harpies, or other bounties, had me grinning one moment, grimacing at that harpy gunk the next, and cheering him on all along the way. This is filled with action and adventure that carries them from one world to another making it impossible for me to walk away from their story, even for a brief moment. Can’t wait to see where this author is going to take us next in this new series.
