The humor and the sweet romance are off the charts amazing!
Esther Hatch has a fan for life in me! Seriously, her books are fantastic! This one and A Proper Scoundrel are tied for my absolute favorites of her books. I could easily reread them and not get bored.
Mix-ups, misunderstandings, a harmless prank gone awry, searching and longing, friendship and love, books, books and more books, family fiascos, a cart and donkey that you will love and appreciate, rainstorm, a determined young lady, a reticent gentleman, sparks and chemistry, and sooo much more! Be Still My Beating Heart!
I hope if you pick up a copy of this book, that you'll fall in love with Matthew and Lucy as much as I have. Even with all of the humor and witty dialogue, there are some serious moments that were just as wonderful. I love these two characters. Trust me when I say that you should drop everything and just read it.
Content: Clean. Some sweet kisses and nothing further.

I love that the author put all three books into a boxset so readers can enjoy all the books back to back. I was completely drawn in by these characters and their story. The feud between clans, leaders hoping to find peace, the characters hoping to find love and protection. So much goodness and a fabulous ending with the third book. You'll be cheering and shaking your head and smiling through all the adventures of these characters.
If you want to read my reviews for the individual books I'll put links for them below. But this is definitely one of my favorite trilogies and one I have the paperbacks for on my bookshelves. And I'm constantly telling others to pick them up and enjoy them!
Content: All three books are clean. There is some kissing but nothing further or explicit. Clean language. The books do deal with a feud and war so there are some moments of peril and fighting and violence but it is not overly graphic.

I laughed and had moments that I cringed for what poor Ava had to go through. I couldn't imagine having a friend make a post for me about seeking a fake boyfriend. Could you imagine that?
I thought Ava handled it pretty well for the most part. Of course she is a teenager and so she doesn't quite see the whole picture and how some of her choices and actions are affecting others. But overall she is a very sweet character who is trying to help her family, be a good student, help other students, stay connected with her best friend, enjoy Christmas and maybe find a fake boyfriend in the midst of it all.
I loved watching her throughout the book and seeing her start to understand more what the consequences of her choices can be for others. She had a great character arc throughout the book and I was very pleased with how it ended. Super cute!
Content: Clean but probably a PG-13 rating. The book does talk about teenage drinking and some references to sex. But the author wrote it really well and wasn't promoting those choices/actions. I'm very conservative and would let my teenagers read this.

This brought back some of those memories. So happy to say that's long over for me, but I feel for those who are struggling with it and similar situations that Dakota finds herself in. I'm sure she wishes that she didn't have to deal with any of this and that people could just be kind.
Dakota and her new friend, at her new high school in a new state, decide to hatch a plan to get revenge on the boys who have not been kind at all to them or to other students. For some reason they just have it out for Dakota. Hurt and frustrated by it all, Dakota goes along with the plan.
Part of me was like, "yeah girl, teach them a lesson." But the other part of me was like, "oh girl this is not going to end well for you at all!" Repaying hurt for hurt never helped anyone or fixed the situation. Dakota has some tough decisions to make throughout this story. Not only is she navigating high school but she's also watching her mom date after her father passed away several years previously and then her mom getting married and combining families and having step-siblings and, and, and. All the stuff that happens just in normal teenage life.
Can I just say I laughed out loud so much at Dakota's antics with the guys her mom was dating. If she were my own child, I'd probably be mortified but then again, it was pretty funny.
I love her family and the way they support each other. They're great and loving and supportive.
Even with the revenge plot looming in Dakota's future, I really enjoyed seeing the lessons that she learns along her journey. I loved the outcome and was proud of this fictional character! I'll even admit that there might have been a few tears shed along the way of reading this book...just a few...
I'm excited for my own teenagers to read and enjoy this book.
Content: Clean. Talk of teasing, bullying and unkindness between teenagers but the author did a great job of teaching lessons in regards to this throughout the book.

Matchmaking Regency style! Have you ever thought about matchmakers during this time period? Or other time periods? Did the song from Fiddler on the Roof enter your mind? "Matchmaker, matchmaker, make me a match, find me a find, catch me a catch!" Or the one from Mulan, "Scarier than the undertaker, we are meeting our matchmaker." ;-) Matchmakers have been around for a very long time. But it was fun to read this book and see this author's fun spin on matchmakers. Yes, plural for there are two in this book. Lord Featherstone and Lady Loveluck.
These two matchmakers are very discreet in their services. They work by word of mouth and only with clients who have good intentions. But when they happen upon each other and decide to start a friendly wager, the stakes become much higher! Not to mention that their own hearts might be on the line.
Fun, witty banter, put together main characters who help others then start to forget what they teach. Hope for love and a happy future and security brings all kinds of characters together. I loved the nod to the widows of Somerset, a Timeless Romance Collection that this author has a novella she wrote for it.
The house party, the quiet moments, the collection of other characters, and much more all combined together made this is delightful read. The perfume comment...sigh. Yeah, these two are perfect for each other.
I'm looking forward to more books in this series. Especially watching to see what Lord Featherstone's brothers come up with after his ultimatum. ;-)

Eva has been hurt in the past and to protect herself now she has started dressing outlandishly and ignoring men in general. Except that's not so easy when Oscar keeps surprising her at every turn. I loved their ballroom scene at the beginning. She made me giggle and I cheered Oscar on! Now the other people in attendance I just kind of ignored cause they weren't the nicest to Eva. I've got your back Eva girl!!!
A house party throws some different twists and turns into Eva's plans but she hopes that Oscar can help her out there. What ensues is a sweet friendship turned to something more. I loved watching these two together and seeing that friendship develop. Even when they say they aren't looking for anything. Love has a way of working out many situations even when people don't think they need it!
Grab a comfy blanket, a cup of hot cocoa, sit by the fire and dive into this charming and delightful story!!!

Rachel and Nick don't know what's coming for them this Christmas but they're going to discover it's going to be wonderful and magical!
I loved these two so much. Especially Rachel and her close friends who are trying to help her. It's "Yes" season and Rachel is supposed to say yes to most everything. Of course she can say no and not have it backfire in the bet her friends made with her. "Yes" within reason. And I loved how it not only opened Rachel up to more opportunities and experiences than she could have imagined, but it taught her to let life come and experience it instead of holding on tightly to that carefully planned out and organized life.
There are a couple of cute little kids in this one. Rachel's son and Nick's daughter. Neither of which have had the easiest go at life. They've been loved and well cared for, but they're missing pieces of their hearts. Having them team up and get their parents working together was pure genius. What they discover is magic and healing and love in their lives.
Super sweet and delightful read. I highly recommend it!

~Straight on Till Dusk by Adam Berg~ 4*~ Fun twist on Peter Pan. Very creative. The world has come to an end because of the creation of a drink that allows you to never age or die. Peter is alone in the world except for a couple lost boy friends and his bot Tink. And that pesky Captain Hook and his ship of cyborgs. When he stumbles upon Wendy and her bottle of Eternia drink he knows he has to guard her from Hook at all costs. This is set during a futuristic time period.
Content: Clean. Some mild moments of peril.
~Little Red Rising Hood by Clarissa Kae~ 4*~ Clever story combining Little Red Riding Hood and Robin Hood. Not everything is as it seems. But a village of women have figured out a way to try to protect themselves and help each other. But of course their antics make the king question if there's a rebellion going on. When he sends a kingsman and a wolf to out what's going on, this quaint Welsh village knows they're in trouble. But the wolf just might be what saves them. The wolf is of course a human with the nickname wolf. ;-) This one is set during a historical time period.
Content: Clean. Some mild moments of peril/fighting.
~The Stepsister by Jennifer Moore~ 5*~ I loved this fun magical take on Cinderella. And that it features the stepsisters. I was cheering for Hilde and her sister Olga to experience some of the joy of the ball. They experienced it for sure but not necessarily in the way they thought they would. Lol! Sweet love story that left me smiling. This is set in a historical time period.

~The Magic of Falling by Jo Perry~ 4*~ A beautiful opera singer is stuck in the same routine over and over again. Never gaining freedom to explore and enjoy life while her aunt makes sure she is resting her voice and doing her vocal exercises and such. All of that will change when the younger brother of a duke happens to see her and fall for her. He'll stop at nothing to spend time with her and see if they are a good fit. But no matter her feelings he's determined to help her have control of her life. These two were just adorable together.

~Blow Your House Down by Josi Kilpack~5* Such a fun retelling of The Three Little Pigs! Peg and Mike were fun characters! They are brought together to help save the house Peg has inherited from her grandma. All kinds of weird things keep happening that block Peg in every step she takes to try to renovate the home she loves, filled with great memories. The chemistry between these two was great. Mike is a widower with two young daughters and they play such a cute part in the story as well. I loved the dynamics of his little family. There are definitely some heartaches and struggles from his past. But as he and Peg come to work together, they can figure out anything. A few little twists that maybe you'll guess, or maybe you'll be surprised about in the end. Charming! And a great story to thwart that Big Bad Wolf!!!

~Wooing the Golden Duke by Rebecca Connolly~5*~ Let's just say that I loved it and was grinning and swooning while reading this one! Lydia is the youngest of three sisters being presented at court. She's not too thrilled and is most often ignored by her mom and sisters. Which of course gives her a little freedom to have an adventure. A fun conversation with an unknown man breaks up the boredom and sets her on a path she didn't expect. A house party, and many shenanigans on behalf of the mother and sisters, Lydia and a Duke meeting over and over again. And a delicious ball. Oh and don't forget the birds! ;-)

This book starts off with an AMBER Alert and it's full speed ahead. There are so many twists and turns! I loved every minute while reading and didn't want to set it down at all.
I would highly recommend reading Secrets Never Die first as this books follows that one. The author gave enough backstory that you would be fine reading this one as a stand alone. But I enjoyed that book just as much and it sets up info that you need about Tallie's mother, Julia, for this book. Again, the author did a great job of filling in those gaps. I'm just a very sequential reader so I like knowing it all.
All of the events that happen are interrelated and important. Keep your eyes open and watch everything! If you don't catch it all, don't worry, you'll figure it out as the book goes on. I loved watching Tallie use her skills and seeing more of her story with her mother, Julia. There are still so many secrets to discover and Tallie is bound and determined to move forward, figuring them all out.
I loved the patriotism shown in the novel. If you read this one, read the author's note at the beginning of the book. So good and helps keep a great perspective while reading certain parts of this book. No spoilers from me!
It's seriously such a great ride! If you're a fan of suspense and fast-paced novels, full of great characters, then this is the book you should read! I only put it down when necessary and then had it in my hands every moment that I could.
Content: This book is a clean read. It does deal with military, some death (non-graphic), and a few skirmishes but all is written in a way that I feel comfortable letting my teenagers read it as well. There are no explicit scenes.

Honoria's family and Phillip's family have been on the outs for many years. Well more so just their fathers. Honoria and Phillip's mothers planned from when they were little that they would wed. Or rather hoped. But those hopes were dashed slightly by the feud between their husbands. And no worries truly because Honoria isn't interested in Phillip. He's just the neighbor and friend she grew up with. She hasn't taken to heart her mother's scheming.
I loved the group of friends within this story. They've mostly all been away for years and are finally returning home and able to spend time together. There's definitely some matchmaking going on and changes of who is attached to who. Some feud moments. Some silly moments. Moments of mild peril and several moments of a sweet love story.
I enjoyed the story as a whole and can't wait to see who's story will be next in this Daughters of the Gentry series.

This was a fun, humorous and sweet Christmas book playing off of the 12 days of Christmas theme. Except Lizzie has 12 blind dates from her speed dating adventure that her friend dragged her into. Each of those dates try to kiss her in some way. What she doesn't expect is falling for the moderator whom she checks in with after each date.
Will was wonderful. Poor guy having to listen to all of Lizzie's failed dates and her good dates as well (the little green jealousy monster might have tried to emerge for those ones)! But he definitely had the upperhand to all of those speed dating guys by being able to talk with Lizzie and really learn who the real her is.
I laughed at many of Lizzie's dates. I thought the author did a great job of creating different personalities for each of those dates. It was great. Some of them I really liked and others I was like, "send them packing now Lizzie!!!" Will thought the same thing as me! ;-) Unfortunately they both signed a contract to not have any connection with the moderator/moderatee (ok, not really a word but I'm going with it in this instance) while participating in the dating. So Will is gonna bide his time, bake a lot, and try to win her over in the little ways he can!
It was really a charming and fun read! Sure to have you smiling and laughing and kicking a few men to the curb (the speed dating men that is)!

She wrote a third book!!!!!! All of us readers who have been reading the Waters of Time series were super excited to hear that a third book was comingShe wrote a third book!!!!!! All of us readers who have been reading the Waters of Time series were super excited to hear that a third book was coming. And let me tell you, it was totally worth the wait and excitement!!!
Sybil is the investigator from the first two books and now she gets her own book. Woohoo!!!
She is such a goodhearted character who has worked hard to strengthen herself. Her mom disappeared years ago and has been declared dead. Leaving Sybil and her brother to care for each other. He's struggling from blindness after serving in Afghanistan. She's trying all she can to help him but he's not ready for help. There's so much more to their story but I'm not going to expound. you can read to figure it all out.
This series is a time slip series and there's water that is the catalyst for the characters to end up in different times. Again, you'll have to read the books to understand. Sybil understands what is happening as she's worked with some of the characters from previous books. She eventually finds herself in 1382, the same time and location as the previous books. So as readers, we're transported back to where we've been following the characters living in that earlier time. And yes, Nicholas is back!!! Woot woot!
Oh my heavens! These two and the way they meet and connect and become friends. But the sparks flying between them are noticeable by not just the reader but the people around them. Watch out Sybil, you're going to have a big decision to stay or go back to your time.
There is political intrigue happening in 1382 and Nicholas is right in the center of it. So trying to figure out what he's working on for the king, and trying to keep this woman safe, he's found himself in a situation he never thought he'd be in. Falling in love and a forced marriage of convenience.
Sybil and Nicholas end up married as a way for him to protect her. And let me just tell you that the chemistry between these two is sizzling. They'll try to protect each other and their hearts but time is not on their side.
If you enjoy time slip novels you really should read this series! And there's going to be a fourth book! So much goodness in this one and lots of great reveals at the end.
Content: Clean. This is a Christian Fiction novel where the characters think about God and His hand in their lives. The marriage of convenience does have some kisses that get a little steamy but just kisses and snuggles.

TI love this cozy town and the great community of Nestled Hollow. I've listened to most of the books in this series and have really enjoyed them all. The characters are wonderful, the town is very cozy and full of community members who care about each other and come together for all kinds of great causes.
Alete has lived there her whole life and loves the people there fiercely and wants to serve and help them. But when Zane shows up trying to implement some safety plans as the town's new fire chief and it means pulling funding from some of these celebrations that are important to the town and especially Alete, sparks fly.
There's chemistry budding between these two from their first meeting and I loved each scene they were in together, wondering what banter or swoony-ness was going to happen next. They both have reasons behind why they are so passionate about their causes but they fail to move past the frustrations enough to talk it out rationally. When forced to work together, they finally start seeing and understanding.
I just love the characters that Meg Easton creates in all of her books. I'm a fan who is definitely hooked on her writing. If you want a cozy and sweet read that will give you all the happy feels, this book and series will definitely be reads you'll want to enjoy. Like laugh out loud humor or make me snort and giggle humor. Author Kasey Stockton delivered all of that and more in her newest contemporary novel. It was delightful and full of all the feels.
The beginning opens showing Luna trying to navigate the emotions of her ex-boyfriend (almost fiance) being engaged and about to marry her best friend. Yikes!!! Talk about lots of emotions and heartache. And what do they want from her? Her to go to the wedding. What does any sensible person do? I'm not quite sure cause I've never been in that situation, but Luna does something I'd probably do...she runs away! Totally tells them she's going to England and she goes! You go girl!
She arrives and finds herself at a charming pub with a room she's renting on the first floor (hee hee-you'll have to read to understand my giggle), a fun group of villagers, a charming village and snow! Oh, I can't forget there's also a really "Hot British Guy" who looks and dresses like a lumberjack, who just happens to be her landlord.
Y'all, I just giggled over so many of their interactions. So stinking hilarious!!! And talk about some sweet talking and honest conversations and interactions. I just loved Luna and Rhys together so much. They both have some struggles and hurts from the past. But they are just full of goodness. All of the looks across the way, the chemistry, the silly moments, the oops text *snort*, the food and yoga and sneaking moments, and so much more, just made me love this book!!!
Grab yourself a copy, a yoga mat, set yourself up next to a cozy fire with some hot cocoa and a comfy blanket and enjoy this charming swoony story!!!

Quinn might not quite be one of those people. But she sure tries, bless her heart. And she's just absolutely adorable with her quirks and "messiness." And after having some personal struggles with relationships and support, she just needs to get away from it all for a time. She's got a plan and is going to stick to it. Except that saying, "you know what they say about the best laid plans?" Yup. Best laid plans always go awry and Quinn is going to experience that. Starting with a meet-cute. Note to self, don't listen to true-crime podcast in a place you've never been to, at night, and get yourself all spooked out, especially when a stranger comes in the house.
Hahaha! You'll have to read the book to understand the context of all of that. It had me giggling though.
Landon was such a great character. He's a divorcee and understands Quinn's need to get away and have some space and figure out who she is without any pressure from anyone else. I loved their friendship. It was quirky and silly but sweet. Sometimes I love a book with angst between the characters but other times, I love when the relationship is just straightforward and what-you-see-is-what-you-get!
Chaos ensues in some parts of the book. Some due to Quinn and some not due to her. But I loved it all. The gingerbread houses sounded amazing. And had me craving gingerbread. Hee Hee!!!
This was a fun Christmas Escape book. I'm reading others in the group of books in this series and loving them. You can read them all as stand alones. And each book is written by a different author, so you'll be able to hopefully read a favorite author's book or find a new favorite author to enjoy.
