I had a feeling that 2017 in books was going to be epic for me. I've started the year with a lot of good stories and things are getting better and bet I had a feeling that 2017 in books was going to be epic for me. I've started the year with a lot of good stories and things are getting better and better. When I heard that Janet will release Serenity I was super excited and wanted so much to read about her new characters, but also rejoice on the idea of rekindling with the old ones (especially Ian :D, yes, I will always have a soft spot for him).
So, here it goes. Sasha and Matthew are our couple from this book, 2 people that will feel an instant connection, but due to some circumstances, they will give into their feelings after various torturing chapters..
Matthew has 2 kids and lives an unhappy marriage. He knows that his wife has been cheating on him for a couple of years, but not wanting to upset his kids, he doesn't reveal that information to them. He wants a divorce, but of course his wife won't make life easy for him. The perks of being a multimillionaire is that you have everything you need, money, business, luxury cars and expensive trips, but what Matthew didn't have was love and fidelity. Until he meets Tessa's friend, Sasha, a yoga instructor and the kindest woman on the planet.
Sasha was very different from other heroines that I've read about."Serenity" is exactly the adjective that fits her perfectly and praises to Janet for choosing this word to represent both her and our beloved couple. Matthew will become Sasha's friend, will begin to attend her massage sessions and slowly this will grow into something else.
I loved the dynamics of this couple. Matthew needed Sasha in his life badly. After all the years of infidelity and only hard work, he found someone who wanted to take care of him, love him unconditionally and make him feel appreciated. He is exactly like Sasha, he wants only to give, not take. He is selfless and her happiness was his as well. He is a loving father, that will do anything for his kids and this further on will be his weakness. His relationship with his son, Casey, really made me swoon and wanted all the kids to have a father like that :)
I loved Sasha so much. I loved her in connection with Matthew but also in connection with Tessa and Julia, that made various appearances in the book. She was like a breath of fresh air, something different but so great for the book. She was so understanding, so kind and an example of trust. I came to think of her as being unreal, because all this qualities are very hard to find in a woman. She will teach Matthew how to start all over as a new man, living and feeling completely different than before. Of course she will also have her vulnerable moments, but at the end of the day, her love for Matthew will be greater than any insecurity she may have.
The book was exactly what I needed. The perfect mixture of great story and characters, with a plot that kept me intrigued. If I am not mistaken, Janet created her most hated villain. Lindsay was bitchy, gruesome, mean, revengeful, a lousy mother and wife, who cared only about her and her appearance. Being rich meant everything to her and when Matthew finally woke up and filled up for divorce, she was so twisted and sick and did everything in her power to prevent that from happening. I hated her so much and counted the pages until she could be punished as she deserves. The ending was quite satisfying for me and I continue to believe that she deserves MUCH more.
I totally recommend this book because it had a bit of everything. Janet's penmanship is amazing and I liked the way she combined the 3rd person POV with the descriptions and the dialogues, providing every bit of information and details that the reader would want.I hope you will enjoy it as much as I did.

"Archer's Voice" is one of my favorite stories written by Mia and every time I have the opportunity of going back to the original story, my answer is YES.
This is practically the 3rd book, following Archer's Voice and Travis. "Falling for Gage" follows a character whom we only saw in the book for about 2 seconds, but apparently Mia had plans for Mr. Buchanan and here we are, reading his story.
Gage is not your average hero, he seems blocked in his world and because no one made him want anything else, he believes that the reality in which he is living is the best for him. He needs to take over his father's business and he is stuck in a pattern, in which rules and other people dictate his life. Seeing him like this was extremely sad because he had no idea that life could be different, with passion, dedication, and living up to his dreams.
His one-night stand with Rory was the trigger for that, but he somehow managed to lock it in a secure place, because that uncertainty was not ok for him. Rory entered his life on a fantastic night, but her path led it to him again, when she came into his town in search of her father. Her mother died when she was 10 and she never knew who her father was, an enigma that always hunted her. Now, Rory will do a little investigating of her own, to find her roots and her family. In a very hazardous way, she will be associated with Gage in a very peculiar way and that mystery will follow the story until the second part.
The book was very relaxing and even if the events were not extremely dynamic, the story was very emotional. Rory's road to finding her father, with the clues that her mother left her through the pages of her journal, and the way she managed to get closer to Gage in this journey was so beautiful and heartwarming. Practically, both Rory and Gage are trapped in their present lives and desperately need a purpose to feel like they are alive. Gage needs to break loose of his father and his inheritance, to find his passion and move forward and Rory needs to live her life with a purpose. Both find that spark when they meet, but it's very difficult to shift when you don't know your own path.
The puzzle made from the pages of Rory's mother was such a beautiful idea and it made me more eager to follow and see where the clues go. The mystery behind her origins and the friendship she fosters with Archer, Bree, Haven, and Travis is something very sweet to follow. I loved how vulnerable Gage was and how he managed to actually see what makes him happy. To put it in summary, both discover each other at the same time and it's very nice to follow them.

Shen with Penelope Douglas because they seem very similar in style and have that raw energy you can feel in the book. I loved the cover of this new release and considering I know the series and read it a while ago, I certainly wanted to dive straight in.
I knew what to expect because this series is Romance, but not in your traditional sugar-coated - roses are read - kind of Romance. The style that this author has is impeccable, but it's not for everyone. The heroes are flawed and they make mistakes, often impacting the reader with their choices and way of loving. So, if you are not prepared for that, you might want to choose another book. I love the style because it brings a maturity level to the series and it makes you more connected to real situations. I often prefer this one that the unnatural feeling I get from other stories because we need to face it - fiction is often coated with an extra layer, but you know that is not real... So, L.J. Shen really has her unique trademark which as you can see, I enjoy.
This time around, it's the girl who has problems and the plot is centered around her. Bailey wanted all her life to get into Juilliard and when that happened, she struggled to keep up. Her desire surpassed everything humanly possible, but after suffering from an injury, she kept herself on painkillers to be able to perform. As you can imagine, the meds didn't help her for too long and she became an addict. After an incident that could have become fatal, Bailey returned to Todos Santos and tried to settle things out. The problem is that Lev, her best friend is not taking her bullshit and he insists on her entering rehab. From this point on, Bailey will begin a confusing journey, full of addiction, and mistakes but also life lessons. Her relationship with Lev will spiral into something more, even though they have been in love with each other since kids. For those who are not familiar with the timeline and family tree, Bailey is the daughter of Melody and James from "Defy" and Lev is the son of Dean and Rosie from "Ruckus" and "Broken Knight".
I loved this book because it felt raw and heavy to read and I think this was the key element that got my attention. Bailey's addiction, her toxic relationship with Lev, his toxic relationship with his family and dreams, all that drama grabs your attention and doesn't let go. It's not an easy book, but it goes pretty well. You fall in love with Lev and understand him, and also develop that need to take care of him when Bailey does it again. It's really dynamic and powerful what some teens live, beginning with their drama and ending with their sexual encounters, but I'm used to this "maturity" and in a way, I really like it. :D
I am totally in love with Samantha's series and this spin-off has the feels and heart of the original series. Although, I can say here style was more I am totally in love with Samantha's series and this spin-off has the feels and heart of the original series. Although, I can say here style was more intense in this book and I really enjoyed it because it went above the other books and created a unique atmosphere.
Walker and Sloane were predictable because you could feel their tension and chemistry from the other books, but their story really impacted me. I expected Walker to be that way, but Sloane surprised me. It is one of Samantha's patterns to go with powerful heroines, but seeing her this way, really impressed me and made me admire her. Single mom, the powerful lady that had to let go of her past and start over - everything in life was hard for her.
The 2 of them start their relationship in a casual way, but develop so strong feelings that you can really feel them from the page of your book. Walker is letting his walls down piece by piece and Sloane is letting somebody into her life and into her daughter's life, which is a very big deal.
Vs the other books, the story was well-paced and balanced. It had tension and it had thriller events throughout all of the story, not just only at the end. I liked this approach and considered it more suitable for my style because it broke a pattern that was getting predictable in the previous books. Now you had no idea what is going on and I like it a lot!!!!!
What can I say? The idea of a spin-off after 5 books in the same universe didn't seem like a good idea at the beginning, but it appears Samantha has ideas and a lot in store for her characters. All the stories are original and well handled and besides that, we get to see all the gang together again, which you will simply adore!!!

I loved all the couples from the books, and still, love them, but Thane and Regan had something lacking, which made me a little hesitant in giving the maximum score. I love when a love story is out in the open and for everybody to see. When that love story is kept a secret, I cannot embrace 100% the idea and this gives me a “little dirty secret” vibe.
Thane Adair is Lachlan’s brother, a widower, and father of 2 – Lewis and Eilidh. When his wife dies, his whole world crumbled and his main responsibility was raising his children in a good environment. The whole family loves the kids and will do anything for them, but when Thane becomes overwhelmed by his job and father’s duties, he is desperately searching for a nanny.
Enter Regan Penhaligon, the 25-year-old beautiful girl who will take the whole family by storm. She is Robyn’s half-sister by mother and in the first book, she was portrayed as a little wild and reckless, not being there for Robyn when she needed her. Because of this, Robyn is upset with her but misses her at the same time. Things are very complicated between the 2 and when Regan will come to Scotland, a bomb will explode. With her history and what the Adair family knows about her, Regan will have to win their trust, but mainly to recover Robyn.
Because Thane is desperate to find a nanny, after a certain debate, he hires Regan for the job, entering their lives and winning their hearts. They soon because inseparable and in the meantime, she will get extremely close to Thane, developing a crush, which will be mutual. Thane and Regan will begin an affair, but unfortunately, this will be kept from the family and kids, because of the age gap and also because Regan will not stay permanently in Scotland.
However, their relationship is full of twists and turns, of extremely spicy episodes and the connection is something you can’t deny. The reason why I gave the book only 4 is that I wanted more from Thane, I wanted him to man up and admit sooner his love for Regan. I understood his motives, his fears, and his love for his kids, but I also think he was a coward and that Regan deserved more.
All things considered, I loved Regan and I loved her loyalty and her intensity and determination. I think that for her age, she was brilliant, and even if she made mistakes, she paid for them. Seeing a woman at 25 who is so devoted to 2 kids made my heart melt and I realized that Thane was so lucky, even if he was the last to realize it. I understood him, but I wanted him more aware of the situation and to take decisions more by heart than my mind.
The book also has intense moments and has the same vibe as the first one, so besides a beautiful story, the age gap, and all kinds of elements, your breath will be taken away on some occasions.

Their love story is the sl“Always You” is exactly the definition of this book – for Arrochar Adair, there has always been one person – Mac Galbraith. Their love story is the slow burn that kept on burning and burning throughout the first 2 books and now it truly exploded into something truly fantastic.
Of all 3 books, I think this one is my favorite. I will have to wait until Arran and Brodan to take my final decision, but Arro and Mac are strong on my list. Besides the age gap, which is a criterion, their story is the most dramatic, full of history and forbidden elements. 7 years of pent-up frustration, love, adoration, and mixed feeling are in this book and when you read about it, you realize the complexity of the story. When you come to think of it, it was extremely hard for both of the characters, and to be strong to admit your feelings and move on says something about your personality, but also the intensity of your love.
Arro has always been in love with Mac and even though she tried hard, he was giving her mixed signals, hot or cold. Arro is my favorite of the girls and I consider her extremely smart and kind, with so much love to give. Broken by her father’s death, Arro has tried to be strong but kept her feelings inside. This gesture hurt her more, because the more she suffered, the more her heart kept on being broken. Even if Mac was always there as a friend, it was not enough. She wanted more, wanted to tell the world about her feeling and to be loved back. This expectation broke me because it was very simple of her – she wanted to be loved by Mac and did some effort in this aspect.
Mac had his demons to take care of, including fixing his relationship with his daughter, Robyn. Aside from that, Mac was also in love with Arro but feared not being good for her. Wrong – I think that Mac is the best thing that ever happened to Arro and they truly deserve their HEA.
Why do I love this book? Besides the slow burn and the eagerness to see what happens next, I enjoyed the flashbacks, as being the first book to introduce them so frequently. They were also in the first 2, but not quite like here. Furthermore, the action and the drama had other levels here, it was more fast-paced and when you think things are over, they are not. Plus, the intimacy and the emotions because this particular love story was amazing and it melt my heart.
So, read it please and enjoy Mac and Arro as I did. Arran will arrive next weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek!!!!
This ready has been a total blast for me. It was my relaxation corner, my little place where I could escape. It was fantastic and I will recommend it This ready has been a total blast for me. It was my relaxation corner, my little place where I could escape. It was fantastic and I will recommend it to everyone. Unfortunately, I will get to read only one more book until the series will be concluded, but the ride was worth it.
“Be with me” is the fourth book in the series and it was dedicated to Arran and Eredine. This couple was very dynamic throughout the series and we could catch bits and pieces of their upcoming romance. Eredine might have also tricked us with false leads from time to time. If you ask me right now, I think they deserved more action in this book, but the low-paced action and the intimacy of the delivered story were very good.
Eredine is hiding something and only Lachlan and Mac know about it. She is a very private woman, with a passion for dancing and her loyalty toward the Adair’s is fierce. Her love life is practically non-existent, but she is at peace and plans to stay that way. Arran took her by storm and their story will be very intense to read. It will be a slow burn that will BURN once it will reach the maximum intensity.
Eredine and Arran have been friends for a while and the trust kept on building. Due to this, she will trust Arran also with her body and will confide in him her most intimate desire – a one-night stand with him. “One” becomes “more” nights and from that day on, they will be ruined for other people.
The story between them is very intimate and full of secrets but also disclosures. Everybody knows that Eredine is hiding something, but it took her time to trust and be able to talk about it. Arran managed to win her and learn about her past. For the reader, it was very emotional and heart wreaking, because both stories were deep and full of surprises. You get very attached to the characters and hope they will find their HEA.
Samantha managed to make this the saddest and most intimate story, with a lot of information to digest but apart from that that, she walked us through the evolution of a relationship, from friendship to something larger than life. I know that Brodan is the only one left, but up to this point, I can say that Arran was my favorite. I hope Brodan won’t take me by storm, especially with everybody comparing him physically to Chris Evans. ...more

I had a feeling Tristan will be my favorite Miles and I've said that when reading book 1. He just has something out of this world, too good to be true and I simply love him. His story, his intensity, his heart and the way he commits are amazing and I couldn't love him more after finishing his story.
When I think about it, Jameson's story was very simple when facing the struggles and decisions Tristan had to face. He had to make life changing decisions and he made them without even blinking, which says so much about his heart and character. I don't want to get into details, because they are not in the blurb, but few man can make the kind of dive he made. It was admirable, amazing, lovable and did I mention I am soo in love with this brother?
READ THIS BOOK and prepare to be amazed by the best Miles brother out there. ...more

When I was very little, I used to watch a lot of soup operas and love them. Growing up, I began to feel very aware of what I am seeing, but because of the addiction of having love-drama-HEA in the same package, I continued watching. It might have been be the biggest mistake of my life, because now, when I read something like this, I turn to mush.
I've been in a bad RS for some weeks now and I saw a series recommendation from a very nice bookstagrammer - Aida (@Unicornulciteste)- and her enthusiasm for the stories sold it to me right away. I got the whole series and decided to give it a try! I hate RS and it annoys me dearly to stay away from books when I don't want that.
"The Stopover" is the story of Emily and Jameson, 2 completely different people who experience an intense one night stand while having a stopover because of a winter blizzard. They meet each other during the flight at first class and they instantly hit it off. Jameson doesn't use his real name and Emily has no idea who he is (BIG surprise here). After their passionate night, Jameson doesn't ask for Emily's phone number and they part ways.
After 1 year, Emily finds out who Jameson really is and realizes that she is actually working for his company. He is the CEO of one of the biggest media company in the world and LOL - Emily had the most intense night of her life with a billionaire.
When all the fog is cleared, Emily and Jameson begin a very unusual and intense relationship, which will test readers patience, intelligence and most of all, allegiance. The 2 of them come from very distinct worlds and because of that sparks will fly in every aspect of their lives.
Emily is dearly independent, but extremely passionate and has a temper. Those tantrums and fights with Jameson proved to be very funny, not in dialogues but in context. The author placed the characters in such funny conditions that I couldn't believe what I was reading about, but enjoyed it at maximum. She is very loyal, devoted and stubborn, trades which will be very useful for the plot. I considered her a strong heroine, having to put up with a lot from Jameson, and not all the time she received only good things.
I gave the story 4 stars because of Jameson. Even if I love an alpha/caveman/possessive type of character, I cannot be ok with the way he treated Emily when problems occurred. I understood his history, his upbringing, but this lack of empathy and respect for her was not OK for me. Even if yes, he has a very sensitive, noble and altruistic side (which btw was brought to light also by Emily), no - this attitude was a NO for me.
Anyways... besides that, I can say that he was ok-ish, but having all the time that in mind, it was difficult to fall in love with him completely. I think I liked his brothers more, mainly Tristan and I am looking forward to the second book to read his story. Elliot for now is a spoiled brat, but I know things will progress with him also. Even if it's not rated yet, I expect a book about Chris as well.
So, as a conclusion, I recommend this book if you want an addictive story to pull you up from misery and RS. It is catchy, spicy, with a lot of good love scenes. It has SOOOOO much drama ( remember soap opera above), but it makes you keep on reading and keeps you connected to the story. The characters and far from perfect, they can be quite infuriating, but the funny side of the plot is delicious and it made me giggle a lot of times like a school girl.

I started these books by thinking I will receive simply a thrilling experience, with police-like cases and detective vibes, but I received so much more. The characters were amazing, both good and bad, their development was visible and I got so attached that the ending really hurt. Audrey and Thomas will ever remain a power couple for me, one that I love dearly and will continue to find iconic for this genre.
In “Capturing the Devil“, the last book in the series was both personal and professional, if you want to put it that way, because it focuses a lot on Audrey and Thomas and their relationship. They put their feelings on second place for so long, that I think they really deserved a break from criminals and just enjoy their love. Their relationship was a twister of emotions, amazing scenes, funny dialogues and WOW moments, which will leave your heart melting for them. In terms of emotions and twists, this is the book to read when you want to feel an evolution in their relationship and see how much they grew up. It’s amazing to see them fully committed and in love.
40 Stalking Jack the Ripper ideas | stalking, audrey rose, stalking jack the ripper On the professional side, there is no room for the wicked and evil will be on their tail. It was more dark than any other book, because the “dark side” will hunt Audrey wherever she goes, affecting her stability and emotions. I can’t spoil much of the plot, but just consider the first book and don’t think we know the truth. Only know things will become full circle and Audrey and Thomas will begin to realize that all loose ends they left in England will come to follow them, searching to finish what the real criminal started. It was creepy, with a lot of explicit scenes, but at the end of the day, this series is not Romance, it’s Thriller.
Audrey was the main focus here. She evolved in such a fine lady, fierce and strong. Her eagerness to be independent will make her follow her heart but also her mind, and she will leave society rules aside in order to gain it. She needs to be seen and to show her capabilities, but also, she needs to be loved, rules be damned. The difference between Audrey Rose from Jack The Ripper and this Audrey Rose is visible and it can be admire in all of her splendor, because she is truly a remarkable character to watch. I was blown away by her courage and strength and amazed by her new perspective.
Thomas was a whole new character in this book, more vulnerable but in the same time more ahead and outspoken, ready to face anything in order to have Audrey. This Thomas was bolder, more passionate and managed to surprise me with this attitude and suggestions, which implied that even at the age of 18, when you want something, you don’t sit and wait, you go and get it for yourself. I liked this discovery and Thomas was really surprising.
Concluding, read the series and focus on this book, a wonderful conclusion to what Audrey and Thomas have been fighting for. Their courage and love will eventually be rewarded, but the journey will take some time. Be patient, the outcome will be satisfying. ...more
I think I already state my case regarding this series. I love it!!!!! I love the characters, the scenario, the plot and all the murders and vibe this I think I already state my case regarding this series. I love it!!!!! I love the characters, the scenario, the plot and all the murders and vibe this books are giving me. I fell in love with the mystery around Jack the Ripper and afterwards I couldn’t stop reading the series because the action was SO good and all the villains were popular and intriguing.
Audrey Rose, her uncle Jonathan and Thomas are traveling to New York in the luxurious RMS Etruria and they believe their journey will be a pleasant one. Apparently, wherever they go trouble follows and when the Moonlight Carnival holds its famous show every night, tragedy strikes. All the murders are copies of the tarot cards, each one a replica hiding clues and more mystery. Audrey and Thomas team up again and will do anything to catch the killer until they arrive at their destination, not willing to risk bringing a murderer on American lands.
This book is more mature than the others, more elaborated and more focused on morbid details. The crimes and descriptions were marvelously done by Kerri, who has an outstanding imagination in this area. Amazing by her side was the way she connected facts with history and made her personal blend, adding characters who caused trouble and confusion in the heart of our main characters. Houdini, Mephistopheles and many others were perfectly drafted and inserted with precision in the plot. I loved the riot, the tension and all the chapters which ended dramatically, only making the reader to be more invested in the story.
thomas cresswell loves you (@cressweIIthomas) | Twitter Audrey Rose was very challenged in this book, having many decisions to make from a professional but also a personal perspective. Again, she wants to make the good thing and protect the people she loves, being ready to do everything in her hands to achieve it. She will be confused, but also free in the heart of the Moonlight Carnival team and this will cost her. No good thing will come when mixing business with pleasure and her heart will suffer when doing this.
Her relationship with Thomas will be tested and what impressed me the most was Thomas willingness to let her go or to let her decide in case she is not interested in him anymore. He has given her the freedom to be herself and to act as she desired. He put her happiness first and he won many points in that matter. Not that he needed extra credits to win my heart over.
This book was second best after Jack The Ripper because it brought extra darkness and more drama into the scene. Also the plot was more intense, more well built and the attention to details was impressive, being very faithful to reality, the circus life and magical world of illusions. Many autopsies were held and I was very happy about it. Great book and more mature, a very fun and entertaining read....more

I was shocked by some news which happened in book 1 but after putting all the pieces together with Poppy, I understood the reasons behind all his plan and even if the betrayal hurt me as well, in war everything is possible and when you do it to protect somebody you love, things are more clear after the first blow was delivered.
After learning everything about the Ascended and about her true role in this story, Poppy will be left confused and lost in a world she doesn’t (yet) find her place. Casteel will be that person, but he will need like 600 pages to show Poppy the truth and to unravel all the information she wants to know in order to gain her trust. Believe me, she has a lot of questions!!! She will learn to cope with her abilities and it will be very interesting to see how Poppy accepts this part and will manage to control it.
I won’t make this review long, because even if the book was kind of long, the plot was not that complicated and it lingered more on Poppy and Casteel development than showing us a complex story. The character development went well, because from seeing Casteel as an enemy, you go back to basics and see him like Hawke again, in love with him with all of your heart. Actually, loving a semi bad person is quite fun, because you discover that you actually like his behavior, his determination, fighting spirit and his dirty innuendos. But, leaving all aside, Casteel will do anything in his power to protect Poppy, not because he needs her in his plan, but because he needs her in his life. ...more

It was an excitement like no other and in less than 5 days I finished the story, reading like crazy with every chance I’ve got. When I began the first chapters it really hit me how much I’ve missed all this universe, the characters (Rhys!!!!!!!!!!!), the plot and everything revolving around it. I’ve read “A Court of Frost and Starlight” as the last installment, but let’s be serious, it was just an appetizer, something to keep you breathing until the real deal comes out.
I was never a fan of Nesta, although I like Cassian very much and he intrigued me a lot, wanting to see how his story develops and to get to know him more, at a personal level. My attention was solely on Rhys in the first trilogy, but now, having these 2 as main characters, your focus changes and you pay more attention to them and to all the details. After reading the book, I really think I was right about Nesta, that her exterior was exactly what she managed to sent through, but after certain events and lots of love, people can change if they have the right incentive.
I consider that Nesta was never something different from what she portrait to be, she was straight forward, sometimes cruel, but that was her upbringing and considering everything that happened, she couldn’t turn up in other way. Her association to the Fae world and the change within her was the starting point, but it was a vicious ride, full of false appearances and glimpses of the real her. When Feyre is more than tired about her sister behavior and irrational spending on account of the Night Court, she sends Nesta to train with Cassian at the House of Wind. Of course Nesta was not OK with the decision and made Cassian’s life a living hell, because she was not a warrior, she didn’t fully embrace the Fae life and that was not her focus. She was still traumatized by the war, by her fathers dead and their transformation, so the path she embraced was to just be numb and not feel anything. She fully took upon herself to make everybody hate her, including Cassian and her sisters, as punishment for what she believes she did. This will be the starting point of the story, a story which finds Nesta on full display, showing us how she managed her emotions, her relationship with Feyre and Elain, her love life with Cassian, but most of all, the powers she took from the Cauldron which was burning inside her and more than gladly wanted to rise and destroy. This will be the trigger to the story which finds Nesta in full bloom, using her powers to stop another war from happening.
Nesta and Cassian were very different from Feyre and Rhys. The first pair is mostly driven at the beginning by an atomic chemistry and sexual tension, while the second had chemistry, but not that explosive. There were more lured in by an invisible connection, which bonded them and never let go. Both of them are super, mega, awesome, but I remain faithful to my fist love. ...more

I love the characters, the story behind them and if by chance, have a love story, I am 100% dedicated to reading it. It was the same with “A Discovery of Witches“, a book that took me over in no time and I am looking forward to reading the second book FAST.
Diana Bishop is a witch, but she tries her best not to remember that. She doesn’t use her powers and everything she has accomplished was by her own. Even if she doesn’t want to be part of this world, a particular event will put her in center of attention for all supernatural beings. Her force will unlock a magical power and from this point on, she will need all the help she can get. Enter Matthew Clairmont, a charming vampire who will be by Diana’s side no matter what, even with the cost of starting a war of the supernatural.
In this book you will find all the creatures you heard and read about: witches, vampires and demons. They are linked in interesting ways and have secret agendas, all to be revealed at the right moment. At the center of them all stands Diana and Matthew, who develop a very strong connection, even if they are not allowed to. Eventually, love wins, but there are many consequences to face.
A Discovery of Witches review – a bubbling cauldron of fantasy cliches | Fantasy TV | The Guardian I loved Diana as a leading lady and admired her strength and courage. Extremely intelligent, she doesn’t run from her problems, she faces them in a brilliant way, sometimes annoying me with her bravery. She will learn to discover her powers and see how far she can go with her potential. Her evolution can be seen withing the plot and you could easily compare her “before Matthew” and “after Matthew” and see the difference. She will begin to embrace her origins, surprising the readers with everything she can do, intentionally or not. ...more

I am used to OK guys, not perfect because perfection is good in books but not in real life and this aspect makes you a little disorientated in your real choices. So, I liked them to be from this world, not out of it. But L.J. Shen likes to make a change and deliver broken heroes, anti heroes that you hate, but in the same time love. It’s very complicated to explain, because the characters are so flawed and so wrong for you, but you can’t stop reading. It’s intriguing and addictive and I think I am going to be reading some more of her work, because I love it and love the twist.
“Scandalous” was exactly as the title suggests – scandalous. ...more

It was nice and sad in the same time, feeling their angst and pain, seeing their path and how much they had to suffer to get here.
I found “Defy Me” to fill a lot of gaps, to provide insights about our characters past and to put them into different situations which I didn’t see them before. They were apart some time, but now I could see them back together and hope their relationship will stay solid for what is about to go on in the last installment. (March please come quickly!!!)
I felt like roles were changed, Juliette was the strong one, who had to endure a lot and become stronger, while Warner I think was broken into pieces and brought back together in a better version, who could feel and see things clearer. I like the way Tahereh was “playing” with them, showing us different sides of their personalities and putting them into break point situations in order to make them stronger. Warner was a roller-coaster, full of surprises and interior feelings that were out in the open now, because he was OK with letting them go, showing vulnerability or weakness. When that was gone and out of his system, he could focus on this journey ahead.
I think this book was about revelations, about finding what needed to be found and it is certainly a new start which will set up the last book. Our characters are not in the dark anymore, they are strong and willing to do whatever it takes to end this war and the ones behind it. I know it will be a challenge, but I so have faith in them, because all the books were tests given to them in order to become stronger and to have the courage necessary to end this. I just hope that the last book will bring them all together and most of all, alive, because I know by now that they will sacrifice themselves to make things right and it will hurt too much to see their story end this way.:(

I am very familiar with her style, with her stories and I always loved the message she manages to pass on. Family is the most important element she uses and throughout her books she inspires us to do the same and love each and every member of our family. Friendship is also valuable for her and this warm feeling is growing deep inside every reader, because the message is loud and clear, you can’t miss it. ...more
