This was a really interesting short story from this author. I will be honest, I found it a bit meh and am probably a bit too generous in my rating. I don't mind novellas, but I just didn't feel this connection or this relationship or even the characters much. It just didn't really work for me that much. It wasn't horrible and I liked the connection to the de Wolfe books, however, this story was bland and boring. And of course the heroine had to be some kickass heroine, can she never write a soft FMC? LOL
The romance between these two absolutely did nothing for me though. I didn't feel the connection at all and it felt so passive and unmoving. Not something I am used to with this author, normally she writes really good relationships even if they are novellas, but this was I think felt like there wasn't any oomph in it to make any type of difference at all. I did love the history and myths behind this story though.
Overall not one I would recommend from this author. ...more

Claim Me Forever is the third book in the series and it just might be one of my favorites from this author. I just didn't want to put this one down, IClaim Me Forever is the third book in the series and it just might be one of my favorites from this author. I just didn't want to put this one down, I was so easily consumed into this one. I really was endeared by this story. Its a story that features some unique dynamics of a grumpy hero. This setup is where our heroine has been drawn to the small town hunting her sister who has gone missing. The hero is a widow when his wife was murdered and taking care of his three children. The hero rescues Savannah in what he believes is a homeless situation. As Savannah and Ezra learn to trust each other, they both have secrets from each other. Seeing these two that have both suffered differing types of pain, learn to trust one another. We also have some adorable children moments within this story that utterly charmed me. I will admit the NARRATION is what made this book a five-star. It just elevates the writing style. But I will say that the writing style may not work for everyone.
The romance was sexy and fun and packed with deep emotion. There is something about this series that just works for me in every way. I also had a blast with the suspense plot. And how it connects Ezra's late wife to Savannah's sister was perfection. I am loving seeing suspense becoming more mainstream. We also see how well these two get along together. They are very in sync with each other. And love how the conflict between their relationship wasn't dragged out. Very superb! ...more

The Starlight Rite is a sci fi erotic romance from Cherise Sincliar. This is also my first Sinclair and it was intriguing. I didn't know this was a erotic romance though or I might have picked something else but the set up of the story really pulled me into it pretty quickly. I really love the setups of the heroine being caught doing something and having to do some sort of indentured servitude. Now granted she was in a bad situation and on the run and I understood her motives...at first. Now I was under the impression that this one was just a regular sci fi romance and not a erotic romance. But the steam in this book isn't even the reason why it was such a low rating. I wanted to love this one but the way these two acted around each other in the third act was just ridiculous. So much drama and I just couldn't get behind the reasoning the heroine had to not telling the hero the truth. I get that she was afraid, but what does she have to lose? She felt so wish washy to me. and while I wish my first try of this author had gone better (but this doesn't mean I won't try her again) it does make me apprehensive to try her again. So while it had some cool factors to the story, there were just some aspects to the story that were just annoying and I wasn't a fan of....more

Control is the finale in the "Everyday Heroes" and it was a solid book. Not my favorite and I think maybe a part of it was because it was a novella. BControl is the finale in the "Everyday Heroes" and it was a solid book. Not my favorite and I think maybe a part of it was because it was a novella. But there was a disconnect in this story that I wasn't able to enjoy as much as I wanted to. It was a solid story but not a perfect one and while I liked some aspects, it could have been done better on this one. Excited to explore more of this author's backlist though....more
