They are quick and they usually keep me entertained. This one was no exception. Isabella and Kai's story was spread out over time which I find I do like in a romance. Don't give me this "it's all wrapped up in 2 weeks" deal because that's not how life works (Yes, I know we're talking about fictional romance here but still..). I do also like how Huang has made this a series a bit of a crossover of her Twisted series. I get a real kick when authors do that. Quick and enterataining for me....more
I had marked this as To Read because the premise sounded excellent and plus it took place on an island so satisfied a prompt for me. But in the end, II had marked this as To Read because the premise sounded excellent and plus it took place on an island so satisfied a prompt for me. But in the end, I just didn't love it and found it just okay. I understood the gist of where the story was going and why and how it affected the characters but admittedly, I found them all a bit annoying. I also didn't love the going back and forth between first and last names that the author was doing....more
I thought this book started off well and really supported the trilogy and ended it off with a bang. I'd round this up to 3.5 stars.

While the hype for this series is high and I enjoyed the first 2 books of the trilogy, it fell just a tad short for me, not sure why. This one was the best of the 3 and that means I will continue to read other books set in this world....more

Having said that, both books while they have been slow paced, they really pick up towards the end and lots of stuff happens in a short amount of time and you're left with unanswered questions and eager to read the next one which I will but I don't know if I'll read all the other books associated with this world. That is still up for debate....more

This read very much like a novel, the short stories were basically following the same timeline, and I'm surprised at how much I did actually enjoy it. You get a good idea of Celaena's background and why she is the way she is. I'm really looking forward to continuing with this series as I've heard that it really gets good as the series continues on....more

A few people have told me how they have trouble getting into this series and I can totally see that, however, I quite enjoyed this. It was slow at certain times but the story built up and I really like how some of these relationships developed and questions were answered and there was progression in the story. I'm going to attempt to not wait to long to read the next one as I'm interested to see where this story goes....more

I stayed up way too late last night because I thought I only had 30 or so pages left but 30 turned into over 50 and I had to sleep but I couldn't stop reading as I needed to know what was happening.
Some shocking twists that were well played, Ms Taylor, well played indeed! I didn't see it, even when it was happening and I almost lost my mind. Saying anything more might give something away so I won't. I will say that everyone should go pick this series up right now
Also, it's Lucy. I have proof. IYKYK. Also, close to a 5 star read for me and I'm very stingy with my stars....more

It was recommended to me as a quick fun read and it was, though admittedly, it took me a bit to wrap my mind around the different characters in the story. This series is total smut and fluff and that's not a bad thing. I enjoyed it but I will admit to the overuse of the female MC's name a tad annoying. I wouldn't say this is a 4 star, more like a 3.5 and I did like the introduction of some of the other characters and how book 3 is set up quite nicely.
I also very early on thought I knew how things were going to end a certain way and while it still ended up that way, the way it took us there was different than I thought....more

I enjoyed book 5 much better, though not as good as the first two. Eloise is an entertaining character so I enjoyed reading her antics. I read someone else's review who said that they thought Phillip was a bit dull but I didn't find that, I thought he was just trying to find his way out of his shell.
