Great audiobook! Informative. Good real world examples. Good explanation. Good recommendations for schools, institutions, and home life. A good wakeup call for anyone who use tablets for free babysitting services.
My son's private school brought this book to my attention recently. I'm glad the school is taking active action due to this book. The school's principal and middle school director read it and will be hosting a meeting for parents next week to educate us about how important this book is for us all. I couldn't help myself but listen to an audiobook and I wholeheartedly approve of the school's action to change, keeping a screen-free school to encourage kids' social presence.
This book, informed me that I should keep my children away from smartphones and social media. It's been researched that smartphones kept kids away from real life activities and instead pulled their attention to the activities in the metaverse and in turn causing an increase in mental health illness. Increase in screen time for boys and girls are harmful. Girls not feeling happy with themselves when looking at other girls on social media and starting self harm. Boys having free unlimited access to X rated videos and multiplayer games alone in their room causing violence tendencies externally. Generation Z for anyone born after 1995 grew up with smartphones, social media, instant access to friends and strangers' happenings is keeping kids from living their life in the present. The pressure to keep up, to have what others have, etc. Kids are more miserable and depressed than before, more suicidal than before.
It's a full time job keeping up with social media and the lives of others in the metaverse. Kids are having sleep deprivation and social deprivation. Addiction to smartphones and tablets is keeping them from playing in-person activities and trying new things. Me too as an adult. I spend a lot of time on instagram. Some on Facebook, Tiktok, X, YouTube, and Goodreads. The time spent here are free but cost me money because I could be able to get a second job and earn money with that time. Kids shouldn't juggle screen time with school time giving them no time to play in the playgrounds or running around the blocks....more

This book teaches kids about clouds in space called Nebulae. The Nebulae takes shape in the form of a little boy. Readers learn about telescopes that give people the opportunity to see space from earth. Clouds in space look like some shapes just like clouds in the sky. To reach Nebulae in space, readers will need to take a ride in the rocket ship and need 700 years to get there. The illustrations in this story are amazing and beautiful! I enjoyed the facts about Nebulae at the end of the book!

In this book, we learned about this little bird called Swift! This bird is amazing! It can fly from Africa all the way to Northern Europe and can stay on the air for 4 years.. It sleeps while it fly with half of a brain being active and then switch over to the other half of the brain later. It eats and groom itself while flying. It can withstand the heat of the Sahara Desert and fly through it without resting at the oasis. Love learning about this bird reading this book! Also, readers will learn about different topics like what is the Congo, what is it when the Swifts has a gathering and how they live especially how high they can fly as well as the different types of Swift. The shapes are fun especially in the shapes of a donut, presents, hearts, a mouse, xylophone, and more. She also learned the names of shapes like hexagon which she didn't know before and a review of circles, triangles, squares and other shapes she already knew. The lines were presented in different forms that were fun to draw like zigzags in the mouth of an alligator. Diagonal lines to make a spider web. This activity book is excellent for kids! My toddler loved it. This is the second workbook from the author that my toddler worked on and loved. I highly recommend this workbook for all kids before attending kindergarten!

My toddler enjoyed it so much! I love the variety of activities. Makes learning so much fun. She did a few pages a day. Since she can't read yet, I sit with her to read out the directions. It's easy to follow. There is an answer key at the end of the workbook but we didn't have to use it. She's excited to start another workbook soon! I highly recommend this workbook for all toddlers getting ready for kindergarten!

Useful and thought provoking quotes to apply for yourself. This book also accompany the author's questions about you and how you will apply the quotes for yourself. Example: "If you have good thoughts, they will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely." Roald Dahl accompanied by "what are three thoughts that made you smile today?" And "I Am Not Afraid, I Was Born to Do This" Joan of Arc accompanied with "What is your greatest motivation in life?" This book is great! It gives you the opportunity to think about yourself and improve yourself and understand yourself better. This book is organized in different fonts and colors so it looks nice. Some loopy fonts are a bit harder to read than others for me anyhow but I like the different shapes and sizes.

It's good to know more about the end of Twitter. This book talks about Elon Musk's willingness and unwillingness exchanges before, during, and after takeover and the Twitter employees fighting for their jobs. It also talks about the owners before Elon and the ex-CEO. It talks about employees working at all hours to keep Twitter afloat and the demanding of Elon's projects. This book mentioned the mass layoffs, sell off of Twitter furniture and decorations, and the tweets. Elon's tweets. Everyone's tweets. A strong focus on Esther, the employee who slept at work during the transition period to keep up with the demand of the new Twitter owner. Her pessimistic attitude was a bit annoying at times. It's interesting that she would want to tell Elon what to do. He paid so much money for Twitter, he should do as he pleases. There's the harassment on the employee who quit. I googled that he was the one who banned Trump.
I was familiar with the heated battle surrounding Twitter but didn't follow closely. This book gives a good glimpse into what went on at work for Elon and employees. Employees getting locked out of their work laptop as a way to know that they have been fired was interesting. I now know what is needed to build Twitter aka X... Engineers! I enjoyed the audiobook and I have since started posting more books on X.

We have read this book a few times and loved it every time. My toddler and I had fun looking through the illustrations and finding hidden creatures hiding through camouflage in their habitat. This book, we learned of many animals such as flower mantis, buff-tipped moth, African Gaboon viper, frilled lizard, and more. They camouflaged themselves to the surrounding so well that it's hard to spot them. There are examples of harmless animals that looked similar to deadly animals that the harmless ones took advantage to stay safe. An example is the scarlet king snake vs the coral snake.

A few times, I thought it would have been amazing to have Britney's music playing in the background but I guess it's not possible. I can't imagine what Britney went through being talented and popular as she was then. I loved her music growing up. I listened to her songs all the time. I still kept her CD even until today. It's definitely sad that her family treated her that way. I have never read her mom's book or her sister's book. Thank goodness for that. I'm so glad she finally tell her side of the story. I get teary eyed to know what she went through. And I dislike how people take advantage of a woman through her kids. It's hard to believe that family is the ones who are supposed to love you but chose to hurt you instead. I'm glad she has her freedom now.

I love reading nonfiction picture books for my toddler. True story with illustrations. The best of both worlds. In this story, readers learned about Idaho in the 1870s and how people search for gold and silver. The land that had silver was owned by Minnie Moore who found some silver by accident before it was sold and the new owner who found some more. The new owner got married and later had a son. Somehow he died early and his wife was tricked so she lost her savings. She had to make a living so she decided to raised pigs but where she was living was not an ideal place to raised pigs so she moved.. not just moving herself and her son but also her home. The idea of moving her mom is one I haven't thought of before!
Definitely an interesting story I haven't heard of before. I enjoyed the illustrations. The dogs and pigs had fun expressions on their faces. My toddler asked why the lady had a net on her head. An interesting customs of the 1870s funeral maybe! Excellent book!
