My heart hurts for her because she's had abusive relationships and feels like she deserved being punished. No sis, you deserve way a lot better than these toxic men like Machine Gun Kelly. It's not your job to heal him, he should be working on HIMSELF.
If there's anything, I wish Megan would heal from all of the traumas she endured. I hope one day you'll have a wake-up call and say "This is enough. I've had enough. I'll focus on my well-being."

That was pretty intense for a Cowboy romance. It's about the town's sheriff, Danny Oldman who saved his crush Skylar Long for being abused. They've known each other for a long time since she is Danny's high school crush but she left town. Apparently Skylar's boyfriend is abusive and she tries to escape him by going back to her hometown.
Danny will do everything to protect her and he's willing to risk his life for his love one. You know what's good in cowboy and small town romances? FOUND FAMILY. Damn everyone has a great teamwork and they got each other's back. I really enjoyed this one even if the story is quite dark....more

Trigger warning: kidnapping babies, death
The book truly lived up to the romantic suspense vibe. The heroine -- Marlee is a private investigator whose job is to track down the deaths of pregnant women and getting their babies sent to adoption. It's part of her mission to solve this case as her twin sister is one of the victims by this cruelty. Her search led on to Cooper's hometown to track the culprits.
The story dragged on and I was waiting for the action packed parts which is on the last 20% of the book. It's still good. ...more

The second novel of Heart of Texas series focuses on Brice Harper, Abby Harper's brother. He is mesmerized by the woman behind the camera, Naomi Pierce, who just returned the town to support her best friend Whitney, a Rodeo Queen.
Things got intense when Naomi's best friend got into trouble. Brice and Naomi worked together in order to protect Whitney. The story is really engaging and I am on the edge of my seat with all of the things happened here. The romance between the protagonists is good and not over the top. ...more

I love it so much! I swift thru the audiobook while I am studying and it's nice getting to know Tom Felton before, during and after the Harry Potter films. He's such a genuine guy telling his personal journey, acting career and his struggle for alcoholism.
Aside from these, it brings back all the memories from the cast of Harry Potter films and how he found a second family. He'll always cherish the memories with them especially those who passed away. The best part is the one he shared the keen friendship and love between him and Emma Watson (Hermione Granger). My heart cannot even contain these two are actually soul mates but never ended up together. He's really fond of her.
Enough of this raving, I recommend you listen to this as an audiobook. ...more

It has been years since I've read a John Green book and I must say Turtles All the Way Down is a great mental health representation of OCD and anxiety. Aza experiencing these is an everyday struggle for her and tried her best not to get paranoid or overthink too much. I love her conversations with her therapist. I find it therapeutic and I love her therapist acknowledging her feelings. They are valid and lets Aza express what she feels.
As someone who has anxiety, I could totally relate to it. The inner monologues and overthinking. It was easy for me to step into her shoes and I understand what she's going through. This is the kind of book should be read as an awareness that mental health matters. I loved it.
Aside from that, I love Aza and Daisy's friendship. I love the genuineness and how supportive they are for each other. I am excited to watch the movie adaptation. ...more

You cannot just mixed two subgenres. Imagine being brutal then you are angelic afterwards. I can’t take them seriously. Sloane and Rowan truly lacked the chemistry for me. As a nNurses are well known professionals for providing holistic care to their patients until recovery. In this case, Charlie Cullen is an exception. As a nurse myself, I am dumbfounded by his actions. His way of killing patients under his care terrified me by giving medications of Insulin and Digoxin leading them to toxicity or overdosage. Medico-legal cases of malpractice like this is tough because he acted like nothing happened and he murdered those patients without any remorse. He almost leaves no trace but the number of the patients coded during his shift is alarming.

OMG. This is STINKING CUTE. Best Frenemies is definitely included on my favorite books of 2023. It's an enemies to lovers, forced proximity, friends to lovers and office romance. I'm glad that my second attempt listening to this is worthwhile. I'm enjoying every second of banters, sexual tension and sizzling chemistry. I had a good laugh on certain parts. Mack and Katy's rivalry certainly makes you want to get a popcorn and witness them throwing fireworks at each other. Two teachers with different teaching styles working together on a project for their students? SIGN ME UP. The fling these two have? SPICY.
I love the narration of this book. CJ Bloom and Alexander Cendese delivered it with ease. There is one part that I didn't like (view spoiler)[accidental pregnancy. What a way to ruin but I'll just get by. (hide spoiler)] Anyways, the ending is really sweet. If you need a feel-good romance, I recommend Best Frenemies. The story is about Emma Carpenter who is house-sitting in a remote area. Her only connection is her neighbor and the house owner. When her neighbor, Deck recommends a novel by H.G. Kane, she despised it and writes a one star review. An online altercation triggers the author to stalk Emma and everything went into chaos.

The story has one of my favorite tropes - student/teacher romance and I liked it. It was lighthearted and fun novel but ordinary. The plot was weak and has a minimal conflict. It's quite unexciting and I'd give mad props to the narrators Andi Arndt and Sebastian York for keeping it lively.
The protagonists - Poppy Ellis and Zach Austin are nice but they lacked character development. The romance between them was insta-love and have little angst. They met on a bar and Poppy asked Zach to pretend as her boyfriend and shared a kiss. Then she found out at school that the hot stranger was her adviser / mentor. Despite forbidden, Zach couldn't help developing feelings for her. Both of them are aspiring writers and they shared the love for poetry. Their poems are good, not the best one I've encountered but they're honest.
It was a nice ending for these two. I'm a bit underwhelmed because it ended easily. What made up for my disappointment was the humor. Zach's mom was funny as hell! ...more
