But this book has made me realize a couple things:
1. Writing, indeed, is therapeutic. 2. Poetry, indeed, is an extension of one's frustrations, if not, an avenue for one's screaming thoughts.
And 3. Reading, indeed, will always be the best backup plan if all other forms of media around you is overstimulating you.
More than a review, I feel like this one's a rant. But I think Sylvia Plath will always have my back. Really enjoyed the Juvenilia portion.
P.S. It has been a while since I last wrote a review on GoodReads. But I think I'm going to fill this account with reviews from unread books from my shelf this year....more

I hate to say this but I feel like I’ve outgrown Atticus.
It’s been years since I’d last read his poetry. I just came back this year since I saw he hasI hate to say this but I feel like I’ve outgrown Atticus.
It’s been years since I’d last read his poetry. I just came back this year since I saw he has more books after Love Her Wild. And I loved that book. I never reread it. There are books you only need to read once because they sorta stick to you.
However, there’s a reason why people feel like it’s almost as if the books that succeeded Love Her Wild were just repetitions of the former and I would have to agree with them.
These bits and pieces of poetry could have been one book. They feel like the continuation of Love Her Wild.

I have to admit I do not end up liking every book I read.
I struggle with some of them. And if, by any chance, you would ask me if I could give an examI have to admit I do not end up liking every book I read.
I struggle with some of them. And if, by any chance, you would ask me if I could give an example, I would probably say this. I struggled going through this.
But still there are parts that I liked. Like this one:
“How I wish it could always be this way—that on mornings he cannot come himself, the sun might send me you.” (Once)
I felt, maybe, a little bit uncomfortable while I was reading this. I will never fully understand what the likes of Alice Walker had gone through in the past but perhaps, I can only empathize.
I do quite appreciate Walker sharing a detailed biography at the end of the book. To be completely honest, that part might be my favorite. Alice Walker and Maya Angelou have been women writers that I always see in my recommended reads but haven’t had the opportunity to read.
But hopefully, one day, when I understand a little bit better and I’m a little bit more mature, I would dive into their literature....more

Like the author had suggested in her intro, I took this book little by little. Coincidentally, I finished reading it a month after it was sent to me.
It was simply delightful. And it is a privilege to be reading this collection of raw, honest poetry. I hope more people will be able to happen upon this read and immense themselves in its beauty.

I’ve always wanted to have this book because I had always been curious from the quotes of this book after happening upon them here on Goodreads. So I I’ve always wanted to have this book because I had always been curious from the quotes of this book after happening upon them here on Goodreads. So I sought for this title on Amazon and I was able to get one from the UK. Long story short, it got to me late because of the pandemic.
So for some time I have fallen in love with the first poem from this collection of poetry and I guess, now that I have this book in my hands (and having read the entire thing), it made me realize how words can affect us as human beings.
When I read that poem, years(?) back, I was in a different place and I felt it to my bone but now that those feelings have dissipated, I feel nothing after reading it. But still, it’s amazing. Regardless if my thoughts about it have changed.
Thank you Reuseaworld for this free book. Thank you Amazon. Lmao....more
Such a beautiful and well-crafted collected of poetry. Something that I never thought I would need right now. I’ve always been in love with Inspiring.
Such a beautiful and well-crafted collected of poetry. Something that I never thought I would need right now. I’ve always been in love with poetry but I just love the angst written all over this one.
I think women and men will like this book very much. For all those who have loved, been loved in return, or even those who have been in love but weren’t loved back. This one is for you.
It isn’t actually a heartbreaking collection of poetry.
The division of the collection was quite thrilling. The whole book is narrated by an observer. Someone who is in love with a particular “SHE.”
But it could be anyone really.
If a person or if people, who are part of your present and/or your future enable you to write something down on a sheet of paper, let them continue doing so. Most people serve as inspiration and depression could lead you to create the most magnificent things out there.
If you are feeling down, I urge you to channel your emotions through writing. I know I do. It’s probably not something you would do for the sake of art right now but it would be a nice reference in the future.
I found a writer in me as I battle depression and I go through it like a cycle. I weep and I write. It doesn’t make the sadness go away but I somehow feel lighter after I transferred the words into another medium. Words fill up my head like a deadly virus spreading throughout my body.
Anyway, this lovely collection is beautiful. I am most of the time in love with poetry when it has the pronouns “she” and “her” in them.
In the generality of things, I see myself specifically. ...more

And well, it's only been a year and a month since I was a teenager, so when I saw this book at a book sale last Friday, I just had to buy it. It was in pretty good condition and was on hardcover. I just had to own it. And three more other books I will write a review soon about.
This book brought back tons of memories way back high school and during my teenage years. From 2005-2012. It didn't affect me as much as the first book did, maybe because during the times I was reading the first book I was going through all the emotions and feels of a teenager but today, it just doesn't feel the same anymore(?). Maybe because I've grown a little more mature if not mature enough. I've changed--okay, somehow. Haha.
But I just had to share how awesome books like this are. These books do help teens out there, they inspire people to become better ones, and they teach teens on how to get through life in a way that wouldn't hurt as much--like learning from those who've been through the same thing.
It's a wonderful collection of stories but like I said, I liked the first book better--and I've explained why above. :)...more

God has no gender because society dictates gender and apparently God doesn't care about whether you're male nor female. Or whether you're part of the LGBTQQII. God loves you and will love you anyway. ;)
I love how profound each story in this short read is. It will open your eyes to the possibilities of Afterlife--different afterlives. Because c'mon let's face it, humans haven't figured everything out yet and that's because of one reason WE ARE NOT GOD.
What hit me most is the first one that acknowledged God as 'Her' for the rest of the short story. I mean, c'mon we could guess right? Because nothing's for certain when it comes to sexuality. God could be none of the above for all we know and we've just been acknowedging Him as He because our ancestors predisposed us to that kind of thinking. Haha.
Okay. Read it for yourself. I think you'll like it as much as I did. Or if not--if you're that close minded and you feel like it's ruining your Bible's idea of organized religion--whatever that's your opinion. :))))
DISCLAIMER: These short stories are pure FICTION and will probably make you wonder about a lot of things but if you remain grounded after reading it--like me, because I know and stand by my beliefs--I applaud you for that....more
