MSo adorable, sweet, and powerfully loving, with great early literacy content as well. Beautifully formatted-- like, this is a really appealing book! My only quibble is with the "Boy" and "Girl" separate poems/sections. It truly didn't add anything to the book to have these two as separate sections--both poems would have been more powerful if they had been written for any child sans the artificial division of "boy" and "girl."

This means that there are cumulatively more White babies depicted in this book than all of the babies of color combined. The text of this book is totally fine and cute, with nice rhymes and onomatopoeias, but this kind of overrepresentation of Whiteness (and making all of the Black babies very light-skinned), is not acceptable....more

Text is predominately in English, with some Cree words interspersed, as well as a glossary at the end with the names of all the animals pictured in the book in Cree.
