Okay so about the book; it's fantastic. I genuinely enjoyed it and it's quite apparent in the fact that I read it in almost one sitting and I've got finals in less than a week.
This is the second retelling of Anastasia I've read this year and boy oh boy I'm in love with them.
I think the best part about this book was Ramson. The guy is witty and smart and I love him.
The book is written beautifully, I loved the whole setting, the characters, and the worldbuilding. Can't wait for the second book!...more
I do not understand why none of y'all are reading this book at this very moment. Honestly just drop whatever you're reading because I assure you it's I do not understand why none of y'all are reading this book at this very moment. Honestly just drop whatever you're reading because I assure you it's not half as good as this book. I'm sure most of you are familiar with the *children* version of Anastasia. I don't really care for it because I find the true story much better. (Please look it up if you don't know) Anyway, this is a retelling of Anastasia (as if it wasn't clear) It involves spells and stuff and feels like a better nicer version of the actual story. Sure the dark parts are still there but not half as bad as what actually happened.
Okay so I just realized that if you don't know the actual story then this sounds like gibberish but if I do write the story, I'd be giving some major spoilers so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The book is beautifully written and undoubtedly one of the most underrated books of the year....more

I could've easily finished it yesterday but I forced myself to put it down because I did not want it to end.
I think this and book 2 were the best out of all the four books. The character development (especially in case of Cress) is obvious, it's much more humorous, much more sadder, much more overwhelming. I ADORED Winter. I normally don't enjoy characters like her but she managed to not be annoying for me. And Jacin and Winter are perfect for eachother! I'm genuinely sad this series has ended. This is one those series that has managed to remain addicting and thrilling from book one to four. Honestly if you haven't read this series, please do. It's really good. Really good....more
I'm going to say it...this was not as good as the first two. I mean I gave it 4 stars so obviously it's not bad but ugh..Cress...ugh. I know she's the majority's favourite but dear God she was annoying. I mean I get she hadn't had human interaction in years but still, I did not enjoy her parts and she took up the majority of the book (well there's a reason it's called Cress and not Cinder or Scarlet but ya know?) She was a bit too childish for my taste and very very irritating. [image]
Overall the story was great. It was thrilling and really enjoyable. I really missed Scarlet in this one though. She didn't get enough parts in the book :/ Not only is she my favourite character but she's also one of the most badass loveable character I've ever read. And this series has started giving off some major Six Of Crows vibes....more

At first, I couldn't be bothered with Scarlet's story and had a mini heart attack when her story started because I thought Cinder's finished (idk man, I'm dumb) Anyhoo, this book was way better than the first one. Sure I liked the first book but this had a lot more action, a lot more loveable characters *cough*Thorne*cough* and Scarlet was a straight up badass. I mean the girl carries a gun. Nuff said. Oh and of course, Wolf was amazing. This book is very fast paced. You don't even realize you've reached the end until you reach the About The Author page....more

With that said, I probably don't have anything different to say from the rest of the people but my GOD it was good. Sure a bit predictable but it was fun reading it. Science fiction is not my thing (except for TMR series) so I was not expecting to like it this much. So good....more
