This was a quick and fun read! I enjoyed the characters, and the world building. This book really provided a bit of everything - fae/human relationships, changelings, magic, a trial, and of course a love triangle. I will say the love triangle aspect was a bit weird for me… as there isn’t really a favored person. Maybe more will come of these relationships in the next book. The situation with Kellan made me a bit sad, as I did enjoy his character. Looking forward to continuing with the series!

That can be said for the whole book really. I didn’t really connect with any of the characters and walking away from it, I’m not even sure I know what I think - which is probably the point.
Overall, it was a decent read to start off spooky season with! ...more

Bad things happen in threes… or do they? Is it really bad luck, a superstition/myth/curse or is someone orchestrating everything? Three young women work to figure it out before it is too late; each shares their experience through their own journal.
The story follows Amy, Ila and Eve. They have nothing in common except they lived through tragedies that left them as the sole survivor of their family, and that they are trying to get to the bottom of the rule of three before they die too.
It was a slow burn and it was sometimes hard to get through. I wasn’t a huge fan of Ila’s POV as it seemed to move the slowest. Everything did come together at the end, and the twist was one I did not see coming....more
