Like most graphic novels I just feel like I need a little more to be able to love it but I found this surprisingly good. It's cute and feelgood and the artwork is above average. ...more

...more

It's set over 100 years before the game of thrones series and tells the story of Aegon V,s childhood, being a squire to a hedge-knight called Duncan the tall.
I really enjoyed the the two earlier stories but I think this one is my favorite. It had more focus on the plot and I felt like there was a clear red thread through it. I also really like the art style. My only complaint is that there wasn't enough Egg!
If you're a fan of the game of thrones tv show but haven't read the books I'd still really recommend this. Especially now that the next season is so far away, this will help sate your GoT appetite! ...more

I really like how this series has developed the characters and stayed true too them, it makes them seem more real, and makes the story more impactful.
The art style still isn't my favorite but it has grown on me and I think it fits the story. I'll definitely check out more of Jeff Lemire's works....more

And graphic novels are the same way, so a short story graphic novel bind-up was pretty much doomed from the beginning from me. They weren't bad, they just weren't enough fleshed out for me.

It was a supercute and funny quick read, but it leaves you thinking and really puts some nice twists on some classic tropes.
The only downside is I wish there was more, in the end it felt kinda half finished. ...more
