One thing that I appreciate about Stacy Williams is Thank you to the author for the ARC of It’s Always Us by Stacy Williams. All opinions are my own.
One thing that I appreciate about Stacy Williams is that she only gives you a tiny glimpse of what her books will be about from the synopsis, so you are mostly going into the book without knowing much of the plot. This worked so well for It’s Always Us, and I enjoyed all of the surprises throughout the story.
It’s Always Us is book three in the Abandoned Brothers series. It can be read as a standalone if you don’t mind minor spoilers from the previous two books. This book is a second chance romance between a professional football player and a small-town mechanic that haven’t seen each other in eight years.
I enjoyed how different the main characters were from each other. Mark had big emotions and loved his people so much. He was confident, sweet, and protective. Lex didn’t say a lot, but she fiercely protected the people that she loved. She also had to overcome some huge obstacles in her life.
One of the things that I appreciated in this book (and the other two books) is the bond that Mark had with his brothers (not related by blood). They were there for each other even though they didn’t live near one another. Their families were welcoming and had a lot of fun.
I enjoyed the slow burn of this romance and how Mark and Lex had to try really hard to learn to trust each other again after being apart for so long and dealing with past experiences.
Overall, I would recommend this book! It’s emotional, uplifting, and just an overall beautiful story. ...more

Runaway Bride and Prejudice is book five in the Appies Hockey series. While it can be read as a standalone, it is best read in order.
I absolutely loved this book! Besides all the fun tropes I knew about going into the story, there were some surprise tropes and hilarious moments of drama.
Van was such a lovable and flirty MMC. I loved how he interacted with his teammates and with Amelia. He was so thoughtful, funny, and protective towards Amelia.
I loved that Amelia learned to stand up to her dad and that Van seemed to bring out the best of Amelia.
The group chat with the hockey players was so fun, and I loved getting to know more about each guy through that chat.
There were so many moments that made me gasp or shriek because they were unexpected or just made me so happy.
Here is a quote that I loved from Van: "I don't come close to being good enough for Amelia. But if she were mine? I would never let her go. I would spend every waking day and every single breath just hoping I could show her the love she deserves."
Overall, this book was an absolute delight and I’m sad that I finished it so quickly. ...more

While I currently have other books by this author that I want to read, this is my first book by Michelle Griep. I was completely blown away!
I wanted to read this book mainly because it involved Egyptian artifacts, and I’ve loved learning about ancient Egypt since I was a kid. What I did not expect, on top of all the great Egyptian content, was the beautiful romance and story of faith.
This story follows Ami Dalton, an Egyptologist that is struggling to be seen for her expertise in a man’s world. When she is offered the opportunity to value wealthy businessman, Edmund Price’s collection of Egyptian artifacts, she never expected to fall in love along the way.
I enjoyed these main characters so much! Both Ami and Edmund were likable people, and I really appreciated their Christian faith journeys in this story. They weren’t perfect people, but they learned from their mistakes and learned to trust God’s plans for their lives instead of their own.
The romance was so sweet and had so many moments that made me giggle. They were just so adorable, and I really appreciated their friendship and vulnerability with each other.
Besides these two main characters, the story is told from an additional surprise point of view that I felt was interesting and added to the danger in the story.
I loved getting to learn a little more about ancient Egyptian history, and I appreciated Ami’s opinions about the artifacts and how they should be treated.
Overall, I just adored this story and am sad that it’s over. I will definitely be reading the second book in this duology because I really liked this author’s writing. ...more

This was my first tThank you to Bethany House Publishers for the ARC and finished copy of A Token of Love by Carrie Turansky. All opinions are my own.
This was my first time reading a book by this author, but I definitely want to read all of her books now. A Token of Love was truly an amazing book and is without a doubt one of my favorite books I’ve read this year.
This story was beautiful and did such an excellent job discussing the issue of human trafficking in a way that wasn’t just informational but also moving and heartbreaking. While this story was fictional, the topics discussed were not, and I thought the author handled the subject matter delicately, and she offered resources to educate readers further.
The connection between the dual timelines in this book was interesting, and I appreciated how the characters used information that they learned from the past to further improve the future. While some stories with dual timelines fail to keep my interest in both time periods, this was not the case in this book. I loved the time spent both in the present day and in the late 1800s.
The characters in this story were so lovely, and the relationships they formed (both romantic and otherwise) were beautiful. I loved seeing the characters grow into themselves and in relationships with others in ways they never imagined. The kindness and bravery of the characters was inspiring, and I appreciated that they were imperfect.
As this was my first book by this author, I didn’t know what to expect as far as faith elements. I was, however, pleasantly surprised to see how the author wove themes of spiritual growth and prayer into these characters’ lives in a natural way without being pushy.
Overall, I would recommend this book to anyone! It was beautiful, and I didn’t want to put the book down. ...more

After reading the first three books in the But Thank you to the author for the ARC of But He’s My Roommate by Annah Conwell. All opinions are my own.
After reading the first three books in the But He’s a Carter Brother series, I was very excited to read this final book.
This story follows Maverick Carter, and his best friend’s sister, Evie. After the end to a terrible relationship, Evie finds herself alone in New York City with a new baby and no way to support herself. That’s when Maverick steps in to offer her the opportunity to come live with him in his Georgia home.
Even though Evie didn’t want anyone to help her, I’m glad that she let Maverick little by little take care of her in ways that her previous partner didn’t. Maverick was so patient with Evie and so caring towards her and her baby. I loved seeing Maverick’s protective side, especially considering all of the things that Evie had been through.
Like the other books in this series, I loved getting to read more about the Carter family as a whole because they were such a close family that teased each other but stuck up for each other as well.
Overall, I would recommend this book! I’m so sad that the series is over, but I can’t recommend this series enough!...more

This is book three in the Oakley Island Rom Com series, and it follows the middle Markham sister as she returns to Oakley Island to escape the dangers she’s found herself in from her job. Benedict King owns Oakley Island and has had feelings for Sadie ever since he met her. The problem is that Sadie just sees him as a rich and flirty player. After getting stuck together on Ben’s yacht, Sadie has to decide if Ben is more than what he appears.
While I enjoyed the first two books in this series, I absolutely loved this third book! It was so cute, and I loved all the romantic moments and swoony kisses.
Benedict was adorable and took such good care of Sadie. I loved how patient he was with her and how well he communicated his feelings towards her.
Sadie grew a lot in this story, and I really appreciated how she learned to let people in like Benedict and her sisters. I also liked how the authors portrayed migraines in this book because I really identified with Sadie’s experiences.
I listened to the audiobook for this, and it was so well done. I loved having dual narrators, and they fit their characters really well. I’d highly recommend it!
Overall, I think you should give this book a chance if you love closed-door romances with sweet characters and a little danger. ...more

Before reading this book, I read both These Thank you to Harper Teen for the ARC of Beneath These Cursed Stars by Lexi Ryan. All opinions are my own.
Before reading this book, I read both These Hollow Vows and These Twisted Bonds and loved both of them. I was so excited to read this first book in this spin-off series, and it did not disappoint!
If you haven’t read the These Hollow Vows duology, I would recommend reading them first because a lot of the world building takes place in those books, and this book takes place after those two books.
Unlike the other books in this world, Beneath These Cursed Stars mainly follows two points of view and an additional POV at the end of the book. I really liked reading from all the different perspectives, and I enjoyed the romances of each main character.
The first POV in the story is Jasalyn, Brie’s sister. She is living as a scared princess by day and a maiden of death by night. When the opportunity arises to team up with Kendrick, a man she met when imprisoned by Mordeus, she decides to take it. In order to be able to leave without Brie knowing, she agrees to allow Felicity, a shapeshifter, to take her place. Thinking she’s Jasalyn, Brie sends Felicity to go stay with King Misha in his court, where she gets to know him while trying prevent the fated prophecy about herself from coming true.
I loved both Jasalyn and Felicity as main characters, and I enjoyed the romances between them and their respective love interests. There were a lot of cute moments that made me smile.
The plot of this book was so fun, and the story ended in a way that makes me want the next book immediately. I hope that I don’t have to wait too long for it!
I listened to the audiobook for this book and really enjoyed the narrators. I thought they did such a great job, and I liked how both main characters had different narrators.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this book! ...more

I have very little reading experience with cozy fantasies, but after reading this book, I’m going to have to read a lot more because I loved this book so much!
The Spellshop is such a sweet story with found family, a cute romance, and a sentient spider plant!
Unlike a lot of fantasy books, this story is a standalone and is very low stakes. It’s a relaxing read and has such lovable characters.
The found family aspect was so sweet because the town welcomes the main character into their community so quickly. They were protective and so helpful to her.
While the romance wasn’t the focus of the story, I still found it really cute and wholesome. The love interest was so sweet and was constantly doing things for the main character.
One of my favorite parts was Caz, the sentient spider plant. He was so funny and sarcastic. This was such a great addition to this story.
Overall, I’d recommend this book to anyone looking for a cute cozy fantasy. ...more
