Prasideda pasakojimas pagrindiniam veikėjui Almeidai „nubudus“ pomirtinio gyvenimo prieangyje.

Beje, autorius rašo ir pjeses teatrams, tame tarpe ir Vilniaus Mažajam teatrui (The Pickwick Papers, 2001, a free adaptation of the novel by Charles Dickens for the Small State Theatre of Lithuania, 2005.) Galiausiai, po teismo autorius pareiškė savo FB puslapyje, kad “Perumal Murugan, the writer is dead.” Tačiau jis toliau kūrė poeziją, kuri, anot rašytojo, ir padėjo jam išgyventi šį sunkų persekiojimo periodą. Ir štai po penkerių metų pasirodė naujas romanas-pasaka "The Story of a Goat'' ("Poonachi").

Taras Prokhasko (Тарас Прохасько, 1968- ) vadinamas Ukrainos Gabriel Garcia Marquezu.
[image] Hieronymus Bosch Triptych of the Temptation of Saint Anthony, 1506
Štai šis Boscho paveikslas minimas pasakojime, man, labai tinka ir šiam romanui. Daug čia visko, labai daug. Ir suvesti galus, iššifruoti viską man nepavyko. Tad, tikiuosi surasiu laiko skaityti jį dar kartą. Versti į lietuvių kalbą tai labai reikėtų. Prisegu nuorodą, kur galima paskaityti angliška šios knygos pirmos dalies variantą. http://sites.utoronto.ca/elul/Ukr_Lit...
[image] Man atrodo, labai vykęs mano ebook varianto viršelis (negaliu nepasidalinti). Paimta sena hutsulų moters fotografija ir padengta nėriniais. Man vat taip ir jautėsi, lyg pasakojimas būtų neriamas kiauraraščiu pro kurį prasišviečia ta autoriaus aprašoma sunkiai įžiūrima kita/ kitokia realybė... [image]
Be šio filosofinio romano į knygą įeina ir autobiografiniai apsakymai/esė. Labai rekomenduoju....more

"There are a lot of good things about dying. You are suddenly light and free and no longer afraid of death, sickness, judgement or religion; you don't have to grow up fated to replicate the lives of others. You are no longer forced to study nor tested on the principles of religion or what invalidates prayer. But for the most important advantage of death is knowing something when I want to know it. Kon fayakon* (Be! And it is. What God says of creation in the Quran 2:117) Piece of cake. If I want to be somewhere, I am, just like that. I realized all this the day I died, February 9, 1978."[...] 57 psl. Azar kalba apie nepaprastą vaizduotes jėgą prieš brutalumą ir nebepakeliamybę, kai nebėra jokios vilties... "It's life's failure and its deficiencies that make someone a daydreamer. I don't understand why prophets and philosophers didn't see the significance in that. I think imagination is at the heart of reality, or at least, is the immediate definition and interpretation of reality, or at least, is the immediate meaning and interpretation of life. [...] I mean, when life is so deficient and mundane, why shouldn't imagination supplement reality to liven it up?”
Dvasios, džinai, undinės, žmonės ir kiti (ne)gyviai liečiasi, veikia vieni kitus...Ir net Ch. Bukowski citata "Find what you love and let it kill you" - taip netikėtai atranda čia savo vietą...Nesinori pasakoti kas ir kaip čia vyksta....nes ne tokia ši knyga...svarbiau - ką tu jauti, galvoji ją skaitydama(-as)... "So, the thing on which I lived is called Planet Earth, and it's round, and according to you, all of those countries and tribal lands exist, and seven billion people live on this ball, and I don't even know how many that is. I just know it means very many. [...] Well, if there are all these people alive, think of all the dead people and wandering ghosts who also live on this ball. If every one of these wandering ghosts wanted to avenge themselves on another ghost or person, the world would become hell". 54-55 psl. Ir pabaigai: "Their lives can be summed up in two sentences: they fell in love with each other and wanted to build a beautiful future, but instead of a happy life for themselves and their children, they saw death, confusion, and suffering, and then died". Tai šiuolaikiška Cervantes'o Don Quixote versija, žėrinti rašdišku magiškuoju realizmu. Gaila, nesu skaičiusi Cervantes'o , tad, be abejo, būsiu nepagavusi visų aliuzijų į šią ispaniškąją klasikinę satyrą.
O kas gali būti geriau?...more

Mano galva.
Be abejo, kaip visada, gera knyga yra daugiasluoksnė. Tačiau man norisi išskirti tai, kas istorijose kabina mane. Jus kabins gal visai kiti dalykai. Stipri knyga ir tikrai verta dėmesio. Be abejo, labai jau japoniška. Ne murakamiška, greičiau - kobeabiška.
