I liked her hard work, organization, and thinking outside of the box. Jaqueline was the exact opposite. Spoiled, lazy, and selfish. She only seemed to care about herself and appearances. I loved watching Ginny as she seemingly and easily began to make friendships and small changes at the River Lodge. This is an easy read and a fun one for anyone looking for a quick summer read! Could Miss Sunshine ungrump the ultimate Mr. Grumpy? Would we ever figure out what Fischer’s background really is? From the main characters to the side characters (crossing my fingers that Kale gets his own story!) LeCheminant creates characters that are real and relatable. I loved Micah’s big family and her protective siblings. Everyone needs a Grizz in their life! First off, it takes place on a cruise and I love cruises! The setting was on point. The enemies to lovers trope is one of my absolute favorites and Jack and Lauren were quite the pair! And their history! Seriously, you cannot make that stuff up and then being stuck on a cruise together made it even more interesting!
I love how he calls her Spreadsheets, it made me smile every time. Lauren was so uptight and felt like she had to have everything planned out and just right. She seemed so severe, she didn’t really know how to relax. Jack was the opposite, he was full of fun and smiles. She was grumpy and he was sunshine. I loved watching them grow together and the interactions they had with their friends and family. The small town aspect gave me all of the Hallmark movies feels and was the cherry on top! This was an easy read and I loved every single second of it! If you like romcoms then you definitely need to read Love on Deck!...more

FromI love historical fiction novels and this one set right at the end of WWII did not disappoint. Rupper easily engages the reader into Davis’ life. From his train ride home from the war to his homecoming with his family and friends, I could really feel his trepidation and his unsurety of his place now that the war was over. Faith, Davis’ neighbor, was a complete firecracker. No one was going to push her around or tell her what to do. As a reader, I wondered if she would ever forgive and move past her hurt and anger. Rupper does an amazing job bringing the emotions and heartrending experiences of life post war straight into the reader’s heart. The weave of faith into the story was just the right touch as you watch the characters learn to lean on the Lord and their faith. A fantastic historical Christian fiction novel, The Sergeant and the Girl Next Door is a must read for fans of the genre! I loved both of the main characters, Russell and Selina. Both of them felt like they didn't fit into society for different reasons. Selina and her friends were my kind of people. True to themselves and fiercely loyal to each other. The scene at the ball was epic! Russell was unique in that he didn't inherit his title and he loved science probably more than anything. I enjoyed the historical details the author included which enlightened me to things I didn't know about before reading this book. The scenes with the unknown people kept me guessing for a while, I was definitely confused for a bit until I figured it out. I love Selina's father, he was a great character and he stood out enough that I needed to mention him here. If you are a regency fan, you will enjoy reading The Reluctant Baronet! I was immediately entranced by the riverboats, Irena and her young daughter Jacci, and why they were hiding. The mystery woven throughout the story kept me hooked and I was page turning as quickly as I could read. I loved the show boats, the productions they put on, and the family they made with each other. Each character felt real to me by the end of the book. Jacci, Duke, Gabe, Marelda, Captain Dan, the list goes on and on. Gabhart transports the reader into the showboat family and makes them feel a part of everything that is happening. The theme of faith is woven throughout the story and it was just the right touch to this historical Christian fiction novel. The unique setting of a showboat on a river was unlike anything I have read before and made for a great historical read. I highly recommend In the Shadow of the River to any fan of historical Christian fiction! I received a copy of this book for free; all thoughts and opinions are my own....more

I literally devoured it like a starving person after a two day fast! I loved everything about Everly! She was quirky, fun, and completely authentic. Her personality just leapt off the pages. Austin was sweet, kind, and the kind of guy I think most girls dream of. I loved how their relationship grew and how they both grew and overcame their issues. The duaI love the Georgian Gentlemen series and this newest book did not disappoint! Bessey plunges the reader straight into Emily and Henry’s world. The dual perspective helped round out the story so I could see into both main characters’ minds. The unusual circumstance of Henry being color blind made for an intriguing story during the Georgian Era when almost all people knew nothing about it. Bessey took a common place thing for today and helped open the reader’s eyes to what it would be like back then. I loved the British Museum where Henry was a curator and Bessey does such a spectacular job with the details that I want to go and see it for myself! And I cannot forget about Aunt Millward! Everyone needs an Aunt Millward in their lives! She loves fiercely, she is loyal, and looks out for those she loves. She goes to battle for you and watch out because she makes things happen. She made me smile and she is a stand out character! Hopefully she will get her own story one day. Once again Bessey beautifully shares a historical novel where the reader gets to learn so much while falling in love with the characters! The story is a clean romance with just the right amount of faith woven in. The characters were likable and I was in Mallory's cheering section throughout the book. Although at times I wished she would have made a move or been a little bit more brave when it came to her romantic relationship. I fell in love with the town of Seaport and all of the friends and community members there. It felt like a real place that I would want to go and visit. Grayson was the perfect male lead, I think all the females would be swooning over such a kindhearted and handsome guy. Second Time Around is an easy read. It is one of those stories you don't have to work to get into, you just fall into it and don't come out until you are done reading it. I would definitely recommend this to fans of contemporary Christian fiction and clean romance! I received a copy of this book for free; all thoughts and opinions are my own....more

Moore takes the reader inside a warzone and inside the mind and heart of someone trying to heal wounds from both sides of the conflict. I loved Hazel's compassionate heart and indomitable spirit. Eden is an emotional story of the little Duke and his nursemaid Robbie’s determination to see him loved and protected. This story brought so many emotions with it, I could have read 100 more pages. Hiding Christmas by Esther Hatch was a story of a Scottish girl named Kirstine who was bound and determined to celebrate Christmas with her grandma without anyone Scottish finding out. Trying to hide the yule bread turned into a complete mess and Kirstine found herself in a completely unusual situation. I loved this one. A Twist of Christmas by Dana LeCheminant was by far my favorite of the four! I loved how the brothers and then Beth and Jennie decided to switch places for a house party! Oh my goodness this story had me laughing and at points internally yelling at the characters to just tell the other one who they really were! This story kept me on my toes until the very end. A Season to Love by Anneka R. Walker kept me on my toes! I loved Alice! From her fiery hair to her unpredictable personality, she kept me smiling from ear to ear. She was genuine and so completely unsure of herself, I just wanted her to see how amazing she was. Would she get her happily ever after? Four amazing authors, four fantastic novellas! I love the strangers/friends/lovers trope and how Nicholas and Fanny met was so memorable. Franny's friends were true "ride or die" friends and it was wonderful how they loved her for who she was without trying to change her. The family drama for Franny made my heart literally ache. How can family be so cruel? Nelson flawlessly writes about so many different emotions and scenarios in one single story. I was pulled right into Franny's world and I didn't want to leave. The reader becomes her biggest cheerleader, wanting her to succeed. Nicholas is probably one of the sweetest characters I have read in a long time. His loving attention to Fanny's needs, his desire to truly be her friend, all of it made my heart melt. Every time he told her, "I have you" I swooned a little. Who doesn't want a man who has you? Who will take care of you and help you? If you love regency, then Pursuit of Perfection needs to be your next book purchase! ISea Glass Cottage is a story about forgiveness, healing, and turning to the Lord. There was not just one couple who needed a second chance, but two. It was a very intricate story line with two couples hoping for a reconciliation. Every time I thought I may have things figured out, Hannon would throw a curve ball. Which is what life is like in reality, full of curve balls. Hannon does a great job at bringing the reader to Hope Harbor and making them feel like they are a part of the town. I loved the small town atmosphere and the supporting characters. Hannon made them every bit as memorable as the main characters. Especially Charley, I feel like there is a story there, and maybe I am missing it because this is the first book I have read by this author. This romcom has depth and healing in it that rounded out the story beautifully. I could laugh at moments and then almost cry at others. He was so thoughtful yet he was such a flirt. What a deadly combination! And April was so sweet and a just a little klutzy, but she was so kind and good. Their fake relationship was one rollercoaster ride that I didn’t want to end. It was so good!
Thornell kept the momentum going throughout the book. From one day to the next on their Hawaiian vacation, I was never sure what would happen. And her father insisted she marry a man with a title. Could he be more demanding? The entire book I was caught up in the game of tag between Olivia, Emerson, and their friends. I enjoyed the undercurrent of feelings that Emerson had for Olivia while she was oblivious to what was happening. The depth of emotion in the story surprised me but also made the story complete.
