Very heartfelt and sad at times as some characters are leaving us in this story. Nevertheless it serves its plot and I can see why the author chose for Xingyin the right person to be with her rather than what other people expect of her. Liwei was always meant to be an Emperor and he takes his duties seriously - so the choices for each character is well done. I’m glad for Chang’e to have her hearts desire to be restored and that makes me more happy as it’s that mythology what this story is interwoven to…...more

It's balance, harmony, everybody and everythings working together. We're all part of it, and yous just need to have faith that what yous put in, yous get out." says Basil (a sprite).
I love this book and reading it was so much fun! It is fast-paced and got so much going for it: summer adventures, great characters, a mystical fantasy woodland and mythical creatures. It's go humour, sad moments and full of information and knowledge on nature and how we are all connected to the Rhythm!
Both of these books will be nostalgic books for me. Perfect summer reads!...more

I'm so preocupied with all the bigger problems. I don't really think about the small things. I guess it could use a good beating." Viv swallowed and shook her head. "No. It could use a good burning."
Haha that line and others made me chuckle throughout the book. I loved Legends and Lattes so I brought Bookshops & Bonedust and couldn't wait to read this book. It didn't disappoint. I really enjoyed being in Viv's world. I like the contrast from fighting in battle to Viv sitting in the bookshop reading a book.
I did notice that this book wasn't as cosy as Legends & Lattes, which I super enjoyed with the basis of being in a Cafe and having a slower pace. But I don't mind as I enjoyed the characters in this book more than I did in the previous one. I enjoyed all of the characters. I love Fern the rattkin who owns the bookshop with Potroast. We also meet Gallina who is being introduced in this book and we see her again in Legends & Lattes.
<>Bookshops & Bonedust on the otherhand wasn't as slow and there was most of the time a dark under theme going on with Varine the Pale and wights shadowing the storyline of Viv and the other characters.
This book is 4.5*stars for me,

I really enjoyed this first book in a new series by Jamie Littler. I think I liked Arkspire a bit more than the first book of Frostheart.

I really enjoyed this first book in a new series by Jamie Littler. I think I liked Arkspire a bit more than the first book of Frostheart.
I like Cinders character the best as he is from the Otherworld (spirit world?) and makes the story more interesting.
I don’t want to give spoilers but you can see from Littler’s writing that he knows what he is writing about especially in a political sense and how the poor people are being still taking advantage of by the rich people. The power structure is pretty obvious and makes me feel for the people characters living in “the dregs”. ...more

I listened to Daughter of the Moon Goddess as an audiobook by Everand. It was great and good fun. I liked the main character Xingyin. She is brave, determined and fierce. More loyal to her mum than anyone else I would say.
I really enjoyed this story except I would of loved more mentioning of the fantasy world, their magic and the inhabitants living in there....more
