TThis is a lovely book with a feel of Bramley hedge or watership down and quite different to the (many) other Holly Webb books we have read together. The full page grey scale illustrations are beautiful (though they do rather it interrupt the story when you are reading aloud and have to stop so everyone can look at the picture), and it has the clear and easy writing style that you expect from Holly Webb. We loved learning about otters and beavers, and enjoyed singing silken’s songs together.
A great book which we would thoroughly recommend....more

The stores are interesting and as I read each story I'm picking up more bits of vocab and kanji, the book structure makes sense and I love the addition of the simple questions after each story too!...more

There are a lot of pictures, and well written descriptions. I think any NASCAR fan or racing fan would enjoy this book. If you are a fan, you're sure to find your favourite drivers and cars, and many of your favourite moments through the years. It really is a beautiful, well done book. I highly recommend it. This one definitely reminded me of being younger and staying up late to read those books. This would be perfect for any young girls who love ponies and dream of having their own one day! I loved how all of the technical vocab was explained in an easy to understand way that didn’t interrupt the story, as well as having a great storyline and some seriously cute kittens!
Summer has always loved horses but she never thought she'd be able to learn how to ride them - not with money being so tight at home. Then she discovers the Starlight Stables where she meets a new gang of friends and learns how to ride in return for helping-out with the horses. It's a dream come true!
Summer falls in love with life at the stables and especially with Luna, a beautiful dapple-grey pony. But one day, Summer arrives at the stables to find that Luna has been stolen in the night. It's up to the Starlight Stables Gang to follow the clues and rescue Luna before it's too late. (Thanks to Net Galley for this Book)....more

The magic tricks are so clever and I love how Flick and Charlie work together to solve the clues. The talking lift is very funny - I wish I had one in my house! The book is also really clever because there are lots of mysteries to solve all at the same time and the ending was amazing!! It’s also really good that Flick has a disability but this doesn’t stop her from being determined and a great role model. I’m going to recommend this book to all my friends because I think it’s fun, exciting and of course magical!! (Thanks to Net Galley for this Book)....more

However, I am so glad I persevered as this book is amazing.
After reading a few chapters I ended up really enjoying the words' layout and the story.
The story is about a girl who is really shy and finds schoolwork hard. When she meets a dolphin called sunny it gives her courage and she doesn't give up. It is a beautiful friendship story between a girl and a dolphin. (Thanks to Net Galley for this Heart-Warming Book)....more
I confess that this broke my expectations, I expected animation frames (sketches) with texts about curiosities about the production of the anime, but I confess that this broke my expectations, I expected animation frames (sketches) with texts about curiosities about the production of the anime, but only what was promised came. The book is filled with high-quality images of the anime, as well as separate images of the characters, all in high quality, and some art, but that's all, didn't add much to my collection, plus something cool to have....more

Everybody seemed to be talking about this book online, so I had very high expectations for this one.
The cover is very eye-catching and the first half Everybody seemed to be talking about this book online, so I had very high expectations for this one.
The cover is very eye-catching and the first half of the first chapter is also very gripping. I was really intrigued at first but then everything just slowed down a lot. A shop selling stolen bits also does not sit too well with my conscience. I sometimes think that it is my dislike of anything about multiverse that has tainted my opinion.
The writing is really good though. I would definitely love to read future books by the same author because of that. (Thanks to Net Galley for this Wonderful Novel!)...more
