Reread July 2022 I'd almost forgotten how much I love David and Rory.
5 stars for David and Rory. I love, love, love, love, love both of these main characters. David the outgoing, over the top, teddy bear carrying super sweet man and Rory with the biggest heart of them all. I loved following them on their journey to friendship and then romance. And I loved Rory's children. The ever so calculating Lucy and the quiet but sweet Leo.
Was this book perfect? No. The miscommunications (mostly cased by outside forces) didn't really work for me. However, sometimes I don't care when it comes to my ratings because I cannot not give David and Rory any less than 5 stars.

It's in many ways thanks to this book that I'm reading what I'm reading today and without this book I probably wouldn't have connected to a lot of my online MM friends. Or at least it would've taken me a lot longer to do it. So are my feelings towards this book biased? I think they are, but sometimes that's just the way it is.
This book is filled with new adult angst and inner monologues and homophobia. All things that I these days try to avoid in my MM reads. It's truly a product of it's time. You can tell that the MM romance climate was different when this was released. But as I said. I don't care. I love Kelly and Walter and I'll forever be grateful to them that they opened my eyes to the MM genre.

Okay so my review game has been pretty much non existent for over a year now, but I can't leave this book without a review. Because I'm pretty sure this is going to be one of my favorite books of the year... If not the favorite book of the year.
As I'm mainly a romance reader I wasn't too sure about starting this knowing after having read some reviews that the romance takes the backseat. It does. Did I wish there was more? Absolutely. Did I wish Dominic and Bucky got a HEA instead of a HFN, yes I did and Nicolas DiDomizio - if you read this, I would not be unhappy if you ever decide to give these guys another go, just saying. I'm being greedy.
What this book did though was grabbing me by the tale of friendship and what queer people have to do to fit in, in a society not made for us to do just that. With extremely well thought out characters and scenarios DiDomizio managed to make it relatable not only for me but I think many, many people out there. Not only that, it's also really funny. I laughed and I cried and then I laughed and cried a little again. I wish this book would've existed ten years ago but I'm happy it does exist now.
The Gay Best Friend is going straight to my "Can I reread this straight away" shelf, for sure.

I'm not much for writing reviews these days but I loved this book so much I had to write something. For those of you who knows me, it shouldn't be a sI'm not much for writing reviews these days but I loved this book so much I had to write something. For those of you who knows me, it shouldn't be a surprise that I loved it. I've been reading this author since she changed from her old to her new pen name and I've been loving most of her work. This however is according to me her best book to date. It's everything I love about her writing but also showing so much growth in the actual writing.
Emery and Lex got engaged but then the day after Emery disappeared. When they meet again sparks flies but Lex don't know how to bring up their past. What follows is a very sweet, very hot and at times laugh out loud story about love and forgiveness. And moving on. For being an amnesia story it's very low angst, something you know I appreciate.
I can't wait for the rest of the brothers stories. ...more
First of all, this book (and really this whole series) deserves all the stars. All of them. Every single one. I have loved following Quiad and Aslan on their journey and god do they both deserve this happy ever after. They have worked so hard for it and been through it.
I never thought I would want to read a book about planning a wedding in three months. Seriously, I could feel the stress coming just thinking about it. After having planned my own wedding in only four months, I wasn't keen on reliving it. I would and will relive it many times though because this book is beautiful and sweet and I want to read it over and over again. Preferably without having to stop reading because I'm crying too much. I started crying sometime around the rehearsal dinner and was done for after that. I think I even cried more than Quaid did.
