The Nurse's Mistake is a fast paced read that has you routing for Darcy as she and her family are on the run from the law. Darcy has indeed killed a few people. Some were self defense, some to protect others and some she will just take the blame for in order to protect her family. Pippa along with her family and parents are also in hiding. Did they ever pick the wrong place to hide. Daniel Hurst once again knows exactly when to turn up the tension, throw a twist into the story and still have you routing for Darcy and Pippa. I am a fairly new fan of Daniel Hurst and I have loved all his books to date and cant wait to see what he has in store next. Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for a pulse pounding, hold your breath read.

You Can't Hurt Me slowly draws you in then quickly picks up pace to the story of two women and how their lives intersect. Eva has a rare medical condition and can not feel pain. Her husband Nate is a well renowned neuroscientist who spends his days in the Pain Clinic. After Eva's mysterious death Anna a journalist becomes obsessed with what really happened to Eva. Can Anna trust Nate and can Nate trust Anna. Twists and turns had me reading long into the night as I just had to know the truth. Emma Cook has presented fascinating and very real characters that you care about and has the reader racing to the end. I am a fan! I did not want to put the book down. 4. 5 stars which I will gladly round up to a resounding 5 star read. Out in the Cold is fast paced, full of non stop action that sees the return of Special Agent Alex Martel. The book opens with a bang and the action builds quickly and is non stop. Russia is on the verge of war with Finland and Alex is battling enemies on all fronts. Who can she trust. Steve Urszenyi is a master of building suspense that has you holding your breath and turning the pages quickly while crossing your fingers . Out in the Cold can be read as a stand alone but I highly recommend you read Perfect Shot first. I will be first in line for Book 3 ( no pressure). Thanks to NetGalley and St Martin's Press/Minotaur Books for another outstanding book in the Special Agent Alexandra Martel series.

A Deadly Flame is another phenomenal book in the DS Malkie McCulloch series though it could be read as a stand alone. Once you read this one you will quickly go back and start with the first book Blood Runs Deep . I love Malkie and Steph. They are so much more than detectives: they care, they want justice but not at any price, they both break and yet follow the rules. When the local distillery is burnt to the ground and the result is two dead, the team quickly goes into action . They are suspicious of the fire . Malkie is dealing with his own demons as is Steph and this makes them fallible and real. Doug Sinclair cleverly builds the suspense with every book and A Deadly Flame is no exception. This series is quickly becoming one of my all time favourites and I cant wait for the next case that faces Malkie. Thanks to NetGalley and Storm Publishing for the privilege of reading and reviewing A Deadly Flame.

4.5 stars that I will gladly round up to 5 The Letter from Pearl Harbor is a gripping story that will take you one an emotional journey that you soon won't forget. The story is a dual time line . Robyn and Ashleigh are on a treasure hunt that their Grandmother Ginny left for them that tells the story of her life. The story starts in Pearl Harbor just before the bombing. What a wonderful idea. I wish I had paid closer attention to my grandparents story thus I loved the concept . It was quite the journey for the sisters and for Ginny. I love the point of view of the war in the Pacific. The pages turned quickly as you follow the sisters as they get to know themselves and their Grandmother. This is my first Anna Stuart book but not my last: I am a fan. What the Nanny Saw is fast paced, twisted thriller that has Cecelia back in our midst. Her life has moved on and she is has a new daughter, a new partner in Evan and a beautiful home. Trouble always finds Cecelia . Her health is suffering from that horrific fall/push, the baby wont settle and Evan is nowhere around when she needs him. Enter Lizzie the Nanny. She sees everything. Secrets, revenge, lies and so much more. Kaira Rouda has mastered the twist the reader wont see coming and that's all I am willing to give away. What the Nanny Saw is a great addition to Family Secrets and I can't wait to see what happens next. Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for the privilege of reading and reviewing What the Nanny Saw.

An Insignificant Case is a fast paced court room/thriller that will keep you guessing to the end. We are introduced to Charlie, a third-string lawyer who is just really getting established in his field. Until he meets and represents Guido Sabatini for breaking into a restaurant and stealing his painting back. Guido however took more than that and people will kill to get it back. Before he knows it Guido is up on a murder charge and Charlie is ordered to defend him by the judge. Twists and turns, red herrings, dead bodies piling up faster than you count and some very corrupt people in high places.. Phillip Margolin always masterfully portrays that courtroom scene and An Insignificant Case is no exception. I grew to love Charlie and I certainly hope he returns very soon in another book. Thanks to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press , Minotaur Books for the privilege of reading and reviewing An Insignificant Case.

The English Girl will capture your heart. Its after the war and Fran is working in a POW camp for Germans where she meets and falls in love with Thomas a German prisoner. Emotions are high in the small village of Norfolk after the war and people more than resent the Germans especially Fran's sister. Any relationship would be taboo and the consequences far fetching. A New Lease on Death is an entertaining cozy mystery with characters that are quirky and ghostly. Cordelia tragically departs this world and returns as a ghost. ( that's a learning experience for her) Her death has been classified a suicide. Ruby is the new tenant and she soon realizes that she is not alone. Then the unthinkable happens and together they team up to solve a murder. I laughed out loud at times and I absolutely loved Cordelia. Twists and turns with an ending that will surprise you. Another girls goes missing before they can even blink. To add to the confusion another teen accuses her mother's boyfriend of kidnapping her best friend. Miss Beeton's Murder Agency is a delightful read and the excellent start to a new series featuring a diverse set of characters that are quirky, relatable and endearing. Alice Beeton runs the the Good Household Management Agency and one of her members Enya that she placed in service is found dead , she can't help but turn into the sleuth that Agatha Christie would be proud of. Enya it seems wasn't who Alice thought she was. Alice is determined , she made me laugh and she is a formidable investigator but has so much more on the go with recipes Her dog Agatha stole my heart. The Night of the Crash more than lives up to the caption "an ending that will take your breath away" Jessica Irene Smith has written a taut thriller with twists and turns that keeps the midnight oil burning. Steppy (Stephanie) a true crime broadcaster awakes in the hospital after a horrific car accident with an acquired brain injury that results in remembering only bits of pieces what happened to her. She does remember however that her mum is dead and her brother is a suspect in her murder plus a person of interest in the case of a local missing woman. The story is told in a dual time line which works very well as the suspense mounts with each story. You cant help but feel for Steppy as her family falls apart and I thought I had everything figured out. Expect the unexpected in The Night of the Crash. Grab your copy and settle in for a roller coaster of a ride. Thanks to NetGalley and Headline for the privilege of reading and reviewing The Night of the Crash.

By day she is a pharmacy rep (that's not going well) and by night she avenges those males that are just plain bad and prey upon women or children. Cordelia is also quick witted, has a best friend, a god daughter and a neighbourhood dog who prefers her home to that of her neighbour. She had me lauging, she had me cringing, she had me telling her look out ( to no avail) When things go bad for Cordelia they really go bad and quickly. Emma C. Wells takes the reader on a graphic but fun ( sounds strange I know ) journey that has you wanting more at the end of the book . I hated for the book to end. I certainly hope there is a Book 2. Thanks to NetGalley and Poisoned Pen Press for the privilege of reading and reviewing The Girl's a Killer.
