I will say that I am not a Felicity D fan. She seems to be the type of woman who burns her bridges, but then expects for others to let bygones be bygones. She honestly thought Jae would still be pining for her (and I have never, EVER typed that phrase in my life) after 10 years.
Yes, I said 10 YEARS.
So yeah, she is more than shocked when she discovers that Jae has moved on with his life and. Like he really moved on. But he does tell her about The Club (which I personally found to be a bit weird, her ex telling her that business). So she meets Cole, and that is the bulk of the story. What I didn't like was how much Felicity is still hoping for a shot with Jae, even though she has irrefutable evidence that Jae does not harbor those romantic feelings for her. I thought it was disrespectful towards Cole how she would behave when Jae happened to be around. Even Cole felt like he would never be in the same league as Felicity and Jae. I personally loved Cole, he definitely was able to turn his life around.
So, even though I'm not a Felicity D fan, I will say that this book is still a really good read, probably the best one in the series so far, and I'm already looking forward to more books in this series.

ThI was excited to read this when I saw the blurb, but I'm sorry to say that my excitement began to dissipate the further along I got into the story. The more I read, the more questions I had that were never answered. I will admit that I almost DNF'ed this book a couple of times, but kept reading in the hope my questions were answered (and they never were). This book also felt like part of another story, or a series, simply because of the way some topics were discussed, but never fully explained.
What we have is Marcus Morgan (or Marletti), a Wall Street buisnessman turned potential Don of the Marletti Family. Due to Marcus' and his brother Michael's parents, they were able to survive in both worlds (the Marletti mob world and the Morgan super upper class world). He meets the lovely political fundraiser Anna at an event and decides that he has to have her and comes up with a scheme to get her. Anna is both furious by his shenanigans, yet she can't deny that she is attracted to him. We get to meet a few characters along the way, and there's also a stabbing, a death, a kidnapping and a surprise revelation (although if you pay attention throughout the story, you already know what's going to happen).
Unfortunately for me, this book just didn't work; Marcus came across as one-dimensional. I understand that he would have to do what it takes to prove he could run the "family", but he was just an all around ass, there was nothing redeeming about him at all. He seemed to have the whole caveman act going on.
And now for the questions I have that were never answered: 1. Exactly where did Marcus go when he off grid for those months? 2. When were the readers told about Anna's boyfriend? 3. When did Anna write the note to the boyfriend? 4. What's the real story with Sal? 5. At what point was Anna in danger that Marcus had to resort to kidnapping her in order to keep her safe? 6. Why were Michael and Jackie working together?
Overall, this is a book that has potential, I think there needs to be more character development and for questions to be answered and/or explained further.

What made this fun wasI found this to be a really fun friends-to-lovers story, I loved watching how the dynamics evolved over time for Mac and Raine. What made this fun was the fact that they really were friends to start with, even if they did both notice how attractive the other was, they were actually comfortable staying in their respective lanes of friendship. You couldn't help but laugh and cringe at the same time while reading about Raine's dating disasters. Mac unfortunately doesn't do love and relationships simply because of his childhood (and from the little that we're told, it could be the stuff of nightmares). Despite that, Mac went on to not only serve his country, but has decided to become a teacher now that he is out of the military.
So although Raine and Mac don't intend to, they do eventually fall in love, but of course the road to happiness is a bit bumpy, but with the circle of friends helping, they do manage to find their HEA. I thought this was a fantastic debut from RC Boldt and I'm looking forward to reading more of her work in the future.

While Foster is definitely knowledgeable when it comes to the law, he could be a hot mess at other times, especially when it comes to April, the young woman he met (and subsequently rescued) at some attorney networking function. Of course Foster is a one-and-done man, until he gets with April.
April is an ambitious young woman who dreams of being a lawyer same as her late mother was, but an event takes place at the start of the story that leaves April scrambling to find employment. Fast forward eight months after the networking debacle and April is interviewing at a law firm and who is the last person to interview her? That's right, hot mess Foster. Of course feelings are flying all over the place, regardless of how much they try to remain hidden from the rest of society.
But wait! There's more to the story.
In a nutshell, dating parents throw a monkey wrench in the works. Not to mention a conflict with a particular client and lawsuit, a smarmy little sh#t-for-brains douchebag who thinks he's God's gift to everyone trying to blackmail a character and you get one hell of a fun story to read. This was my first time reading Jessica Ashe, and I can assure that this won't be my last.

This is a quick read, but I loved it! A definite grown-up twist on the classic Little Red Riding Hood fairy tale we know. In this instance, in the Enchanted Forest, the big bad wolf has unfortunately been cursed by a scorned woman from his past. Marrok is cursed to live as a man by day, and wolf by night. There's only one way to break the curse, and heaven only knows how long Marrok has been waiting (because there is no true concept of time in the Enchanted Forest).
One of the things I really liked about this book is Marrok's explanation of the Enchanted Forest and how time works once inside the Forest. Marrok and Lily are already familiar with each other, as he's been visiting Lily in her dreams for 10 years. So yay for fate finally bringing them together. But remember, this is a fairy tale and there's always going to be that bit of drama that occurs to delay the HEA for the couple, and this story is no different in that regard. Have no fear, Marrok and Lily do get their HEA, even if it is unconventional.
This was my first time reading Belle Scarlett's work, but it won't be my last, I'm already looking forward to the next story in this series.

Now, just from reading those 3 lines, you might think this isn't the book for you. But if you're looking for a light, sweet romance without a convoluted plot that could make your brain melt, this is the book for you.
This is a cute story with a updated twist to the Cinderella story we all grew up reading. Jaine's sisters don't mistreat her, but they do take advantage of her and her good nature, so I was glad to see when she finally stood up to her sisters, especially Bree, who apparently is the queen of backhanded compliments. It's an eventful summer for Jaine and all of the wackiness that ensues, but everything comes together in the end and makes for a fun read. I can't wait to read the next book in the series, hopefully it will be Krystal's turn at romance.

Don't get me wrong, the sexuals were plenty hot, but I would have liked to see a bit more of relationship-ness to them, even though neither one was looking for a relationship. True, they had a rather unconventional yet extremely up close and personal introduction, I just would have preferred that the sexuals between them didn't happen so....frequently. I would have liked to see more dramaedy when it came to the secondary characters, especially the ex-boyfriend/baby mama angle. There were a few laugh out loud moments between Rafe and Chelsea, and Rafe's father had the sense of humor that I like (the dry, sarcastic type), but I'm hoping we get stories on Chelsea's BFF Laurie and Rafe's sister Arden at some point.

Going into this book, I thought I would be getting a story about a hotshot member of the military and the woman who is both the bane of his existence Going into this book, I thought I would be getting a story about a hotshot member of the military and the woman who is both the bane of his existence yet the one woman he wants. I'm so happy this book was much more than that.
I was so happy to read that Derrick was NOT a Navy SEAL. Please don't get me wrong, I have nothing but the utmost respect for the members of our nation's military (I'm an Air Force veteran who was stationed with special forces members from all branches of the military), but I was happy that the author decided that her hero didn't need to be part of an elite team in the military. He also didn't sign up to be a babysitter, but that was his current task, keeping Adriana/Ariana safe (not exactly sure what her is supposed to be), until she can be safely removed from the war zone.
I can understand Adriana/Ariana's wanting to get the human interest stories since she is a journalist, but I'm not sure why she was so upset when she was rounded up and taken to a safe location, she was in a war zone after all. And while neither she nor Derrick get off to the best start, they're both still insanely attracted to each other.
I loved how both characters were written, but I really connected with Derrick's character. You can sense the bitterness and apathy he's feeling, and how much of a toll being deployed is having on him. That's not something I see a lot of in stories: the flipside of what being deployed to a war zone can do to a person (it also brought back some memories from my deployments, some good, some not so good). The chemistry and sexual tension between Adriana/Ariana and Derrick was great, the actual sexuals were well written. The action scenes were also well written, which makes this book that much more enjoyable since our couple as an actual life-or-death situation to contend with. One thing that bothered me was how Adriana/Ariana reacted when she Derrick again. She knew firsthand how it is in a deployment zone, yet she acted like a spoiled brat towards him at first. Everything seems to work out, but I'm not sure I would classify this as having a HEA, with the way it ended it seemed more like a HFN. I do hope we get to see more of Adriana/Ariana and Derrick in future stories.

Elizabeth Green is an art buyer with a few wealthy clients, and she meets an extremely attractive gentleman at an art auction. There's some sexy banter and flirting between them, until Elizabeth is stunned when she learns who the mystery man is.
To say that Adrian Kimg is sexy is probably the biggest understatement I've typed this year, but there it is. You have to read the book to get even just the surface of his sexiness. Now, in all fairness, he gave Elizabeth warning they would only have one night together, but he turned her out so thoroughly she's craving everything he is, which is one helluva sexy Dom. He tried to refuse her because she's not ready for the lifestyle, but does she listen?
That my friends is where the cliffhanger comes into play, and now I have to wait to find out what will happen between them.

Told in dual POV, Noah Hardy isn't the hot mess of rock star the media is portraying him to be; he's actually trying his best to regroup after an incident occurred and has the potential for Noah to be locked up for some time. Laurel is doing what she can to revive her journalist career, including getting the inside scoop on Noah. But the more time she spends with Noah, the more she falls for the man behind the rocker persona. But will Noah forgive Laurel once he discovers the reason why they met?
I love how Noah is portrayed in this book; there are many layers to Mr. Hardy, he did what was the right thing, only to have his actions blow up in his face and for everyone to turn their backs on him. I mean dang, with friends like that, who needs enemies? And yeah, Laurel only had one plan in mind at the start of the book, but we know how these things will go and they usually work out for the best. Of course there are twists and turns along the way, but that is what makes the story that much more interesting to read. And let's not forget: this is written by Ms. Valentine, who certainly knows to write hot and smutty sexual scenes and this book is no exception!

But that's not enough to detract from the story. I liked the whole possible second chance at love premise, but I wished that both Jax and Lil were a bit older, and that there had been more time that passed in between them seeing each other again. Overall, Jax didn't seem to be overly cocky, and I liked the twist as to which one of the two was the person to carry the grudge on for so long. I liked the way the story wrapped up, with the way the parental units handled the situation.

It was definitely unconventI'm not even sure I know where to begin with this review. From the moment we meet Tight, he's a force to be reckoned with. It was definitely unconventional how he ended up with The Black Vipers, and do that as a teenager and you're confronting not only the Road Captain, but also the President of said MC? That takes balls my friend.
Tight has made a name for himself over the 10 years he's been with The Black Vipers, and definitely made enemies, but there is still someone from his past haunting him, and the guilt he's been feeling over the way they ended is still plaguing him.
Sasha was an innocent teenager who fell in love with the wrong boy and paid dearly for giving away her heart (and something else). As much as she wants to hate Tight, there is still that connection between them that never went away, even after a decade apart. But there are quite a few secrets that Sasha has been keeping, and it's not until the last chapter that all is revealed.
This is book with some heavy events that happen, but there are a couple of laugh out loud moments (Grandma Lil for one, and the catheter removal scene). But Tight is determined to reclaim his woman and make good on the mistakes he made all those years ago. And that is what I love about Tight: he knows how he messed up and he wants to do whatever it takes to make things right between him and Sasha.
This is a book that had me pulled in from the first page, and didn't let go until I got to the end. And damn, what an ending! I had to go back and read it again just to make sure I read it right the first time. I can't wait to see what's going to happen next, because how on earth do you continue after that bombshell?
