Cerita ini lebih pilu, karena latar belakang kisahnya nyata. Saya malah bandingin sama buku-buku lokal yang banyak nyeritain soal kekerasan 1998. Settingnya beda sih, tapi cerita yang ditawarkan hampir sama. Yang bikin buku ini beda dan menarik adalah sudut pandang yang digunakan. Korban, orangtua korban, penyintas, teman korban, saksi.
Saya baca ini harus dalam kondisi on 100%, alias harus fokus dan berkonsentrasi banget. Susah sekali buat saya (yang kayaknya lagi mabuk oleh cintamu) membedakan tokoh-tokoh di buku ini. Mana saya punya kekurangan dasar yaitu sulit sekali membedakan nama korea. "Hah ini siapa? Siapanya siapa? Itu tadi namanya siapa?"
Tapi di akhir, setelah segala kesulitan dalam membacanya, saya suka. Bikin googling soal sejarah gelap Korea tahun 1980, bikin punya bahan obrolan rada bermutu sama doi (NAON)....more

Tapi ukuran bukunya astagfirullahable banget, berat-beratin tas pula. Udah tau saya malesan. Alhamdulillahnya, buku lain pemenang KSK tersedia di gramedia digital. Belum pernah denger sebenarnya saya Rio Johan ini siapa, dan ga ada bayangan juga bukunya gimana. Jadi saya baca ini dengan kerendahan diri, kalo bukan kerendahan hati. Saya sadar buku pemenang KSK pasti buku berat. Dan saya selalu underestimate pada diri sendiri kalo saya ga akan sanggup menyelesaikan buku berat. Ketika saya menikmati sekali baca ini bahkan komen, “ah masih beratan LDR sama pacar yang ga doyan telponan” dan menyelesaikan buku ini dalam waktu 2 hari aja, tentu saja saya amat bangga sama diri sendiri. Dongeng banget! Yah, mungkin itu alasan saya suka. Karena dongeng banget. Ceritanya berlatar Mesir kuno, tentang raja, mimpi, dan kutukannya. Idenya sebenarnya sederhana, tapi detil-detil soal tradisi kuno, upacara tua, dewa-dewa lama, tafsir mimpi sampe jadi lagu (udah kayak LotR aja sungguh), intrik-intrik kerajaan, bikin ceritanya jadi penuh dan….. magical (?!?). Belum lagi pemilihan kosakata yang digunakan penulis. Kayak di buku Raden Mandasia gitu. Klasik banget. Tua banget. Kuno banget. Sampe saya harus cek KBBI beneran ga sih kata ini ada di kamus bahasa Indonesia. Keajaiban cara bercerita dan bahasanya itu menghasilkan buku yang buat saya beneran jadi kayak naskah sejarah kerajaan masa lalu. Kereenn!...more

Tapi saya udah bolak balik nulis review pake bahasa yang baik dan benar, berusaha jujur sekaligus kritis, mencoba menyampaikan kesan, pendapat, dan isi buku dengan bahasa yang bagus, tapi jadinya malah meh. Maksa banget rasanya. Dan terlihat berlebihan. Jadi saya mulai buka halaman baru lagi, dan nulis review sesuai kodrat saya; sambil curhat.
Rasanya saya tau rasanya kehilangan (semua juga kayaknya tau), dan ditinggalkan tanpa kejelasan (I talk to you, kutil cumi-cumi!). Tentu tidak semenyakitkan apa yang dirasakan sahabat dan kerabat aktivis yang hilang taun 1998, tapi yah... I think I can relate. Gimana rasanya hidup berpegang pada harapan samar, gimana lebih bahagianya hidup di kepompong masa lalu, betapa lebih mudah berpura-pura semuanya akan baik-baik aja. Gimana beratnya melepaskan, dan betapa sulitnya berdamai dengan kehilangan.
Buku ini dibagi menjadi 2 bagian. Separuh awal buku ini adalah bagian cerita Biru Laut. Biru Laut adalah salah satu aktivis yang hilang tahun 1998. Dikisahkan dari POV Laut, part ini banyak membahas tentang masa-masa awal gerakan mahasiswa terbentuk, persahabatan Laut dengan aktivis-aktivis lain, sampai kemudian dia diculik, disekap, diinterogasi, dan disiksa oleh aparat. Miris banget baca part ini. Ngeri. Saya pribadi lebih suka part 2 buku ini. Bagian cerita Asmara Jati, adik Biru Laut. Mendengarkan cerita dari sudut pandang dia, hati saya kayak diremes-remes. Dia bukan cuma harus menerima kakak kesayangannya hilang, tapi juga harus menghadapi orang tuanya yang gagal move on akut. Pedih banget, Jendral. Teriris hati Tika Bravani baca ini. Part Asmara Jati ini bukan hanya menceritakan strugglenya mereka yang kehilangan aja, tapi juga menceritakan mereka yang kembali, mereka yang bertahan hidup. Gimana para survivor menghadapi trauma, selalu dihantui rasa bersalah dan mimpi buruk. Buat saya part Asmara Jati lebih intens dan emosional dan kurang panjang. Hahahaha. Saya lebih suka kisah dari POV dia soalnya. Konflik emosinya lebih kerasa.
Buku ini juga yang bikin saya makin paham soal makna aksi Kamisan. Saya sering sekali denger aksi Kamisan (beberapa temen saya malah aktif ikutan), tapi saya terlalu males nyari tau atau mungkin terlalu enggan memahami. Ketika baca ini, saya sedikit demi sedikit mengerti, memahami, mengapa banyak sekali yang bertahan. Mengapa harus bertahan. Saya sampe mikir, "ya Allah, saya yang ditinggalin tanpa alesan dan satu-satunya yang jadi ga jelas adalah status hubungan kami aja bisa segini tersiksanya, apalagi mereka yang kehilangan seseorang yang ga jelas nyawa dan keberadaannya. Saya mending mungkin suatu hari bisa menuntut jawaban dan nyalahin si kutil cumi-cumi karena udah bersikap kayak Draco Malfoy gitu (you are trully Slytherin like you said, damn hobbit!), mereka yang anaknya ditembak pas kerusuhan bisa apa? Ya Allah, betapa sepelenya masalah saya dibanding masalah orang lain.."
Intinya, sekali lagi, Leila Chudori berhasil membuka mata saya mengenai hal-hal sosial yang selama ini cenderung saya abaikan. Susah untuk tidak, seenggaknya, mulai berempati sama para pendemo aksi Kamisan. Suka bukunya! Cara ceritanya bagus. Dan ngingetin ke Pulang. Leila Chudori emang jago ngemas cerita begini jadi ngepop dan enak dibaca. Dan satu lagi, sepertinya saya emang tidak ditakdirkan bikin resensi yang tak ada muatan curhatnya. Hhhhhh......more

Lalu miris, lalu sedih, lalu banyak istighfar, "ini beneran ya jaman dulu manusia sekejam ini? Se'hewan' ini? Tentara kok gini-gini amat? Lalu sampe sekarang nasib mereka gimana? Adakah keadilan buat mereka?" *tsaaahh sok ngerti
Shock menjadi-jadi ketika saya diyakinkan ini memang kisah nyata. Saya berasa ditampar dan diingatkan bahwa saya--yang mengira sudah cukup tau sedikiiiiit tentang sejarah negeri sendiri-- sebenernya sama sekali ga tau apa-apa. Bahwa saya--yang menganggap diri ini paling menderita karena diharkosin gebetan--sungguh hanyalah serpihan rempeyek jika dibandingkan penderitaan Jemilah.
Lalu akhirnya saya ngeri sendiri karena belom ada yang ngerated buku ini di Goodreads. Ngeri kalo baca ini bakalan di-kayak-Jemilah-in. Ngeri ada yang ngegedor-gedor kosan, lalu bilang, "KAMU ZULFY YANG MEMBERI BINTANG 4 PADA BUKU PE-KA-I YA?! IKUT SAYA KE PLANTUNGAN!!"

Tapi ga tahan rasanya kalo ga bikin sedikit komentar tentang buku ini.
The 100-Years-Old Man Who Climbed Out of the Window and Disappeared. Judulnya cukup belibet dan terlalu panjang buat ditulis di Twitter –ngabisin karakter soalnya—dan yang saya temuin di Path adalah versi bahasa swedianya, jadi kurang greget buat dipamerin. Soalnya semua orang tau, saya ga mungkin baca buku bahasa swedia, kalo bahasa inggris kan masih mungkin.. (((INI APA)))
Yang ingin saya kasih 4 jempol dan 5 bintang adalah Jonas Jonasson. Jenius yang berhasil bikin saya ngeh sama keadaan dunia sejak tahun 1905-2005. Jonas Jonasson berhasil merangkum sebagian besar kejadian-kejadian penting di seluruh dunia, dengan menggunakan karakter Allan Karlsson –lelaki gila super beruntung—yang secara langsung dan tidak langsung terlibat dan berhubungan dengan hampir seluruh kejadian penting di seluruh dunia. Super salut saya sama penulis yang berhasil nyambung-nyambungin dan nemu aja celah buat masukin tokoh Allan ke semua kejadian sejarah itu. Cerita Allan ini terlalu gila buat dipercaya, terlalu mungkin buat terjadi, dan itu terutama yang bikin saya ngakak sepanjang cerita. Gimana Allan cerita ke Nixon cara memperoleh karier politik di Indonesia, lalu selanjutnya Nixon terjerat kasus Watergate... Allan mem-puk-puk Kim Dong Il, ketika komunis yang waktu itu masih berusia 12 taun nangis jejeritan mendengar kalo Paman Stalin meninggal karena stroke... Allan selamat dari hukum gantung di Tiongkok karena berjasa menyelamatkan istri Mao Tse Tong............ Baik, baik, saya cukupkan spoilernya sebelum diarak massa.
Termasuk jenis apa novel ini, saya ngga tau. Saya nangkep fiksi-sejarah, biografi, satire, komedi. Mungkin gabungan semuanya. Tapi apapun jenis novelnya, saya sangaaaaatt suka.
Terjemahannya, saya sih yes, ga tau mas Anang sama mas Dhani... Sedikit bosen di beberapa tempat. Terlalu bertele-tele di tempat lain. Kocak hampir di semua bagian. Berhasil bikin saya tergerak buat gugling mengenai apa saja yang terjadi di Amerika, Uni Soviet, Swedia, Prancis, Spanyol, Tiongkok, Korea Utara, Korea Selatan, daaaann.. Indonesia!
Omong-omong soal Indonesia, ending novel ini apa banget dah... hahahahaha ^^ ...more

Adalah Amba, yang akan menunjukkannya. Amba, 20 tahun, mencintai Bhisma. Amba, 60 tahun, mencari kebenaran tentang Bhisma. Selama rentang waktu hidupnya sebelum ia “menemukan” Bhisma, Amba terjebak, ga bisa move on kalo kata anak sekarang mah, dan selamanya terkurung dalam kenangannya bersama Bhisma. 40 tahun lebih (40 taun loh!! Kurang setia apa yang namanya perempuan??!! Yah tergantung cewenya juga sihh) Amba menunggu Bhisma, bahkan jika Bhisma hanya tinggal setitik kabar. Amba mencari Bhisma, mencari tahu kenapa Bhisma tak kembali. Lalu akhirnya Amba menemukan Bhisma. Di Pulau Buru.
Well, baiklah. Novel ini emang kisah cinta. Tapi syukurlah, ini bukan roman yang menye-menye. Bagaimana Amba menjadi wanita setegar, sekeras, dan sesinis itu. Bagaimana Bhisma sampe dibawa ke Pulau Buru. Pencarian Amba ke Pulau Buru, yang akhirnya memberinya surat-surat tak terkirim yang Bhisma tulis selama menjadi tapol di Pulau Buru. Balutan sejarahnya kental sekali. Menceritakan nyaris dengan rinci dan sarat bahasa politik (yang saya ga ngerti) kisah tentang bagaimana “orang-orang komunis” ini ditangkap, pandangan-pandangan mereka, apa yang terjadi di Pulau Buru selama tempat itu dijadikan “pulau buangan”, menjadikan novel ini layak banget dibilang luar biasa. Ditambah diksi yang keren (tapi buat saya, yang lemah ini, cukup melelahkan), wajar lah kalo Amba dipuji banyak kalangan. Walaupun buat saya, tokoh Bhisma ini kok kayaknya sempurna sekali. Nyaris tidak manusiawi.
Yang saya tau tentang Pulau Buru hanya satu. Tempat pembuangan. Penjara para tahanan politik, penjara untuk mereka yang (atau cuma dikira, atau malah cuma sedikit berhubungan sama) komunis. Saya sama sekali ga tau dimana lokasi geografisnya, disana ada apa aja, keadaan penduduknya gimana, bahkan apa yang dilakukan para buangan itu dulu disana. Dulu saya kira Pulau Buru itu kayak Alcatraz atau Nusakambangan gitu (yang dua terakhir juga ga tau detilnya siihh..) Lugu sekali bukan? *perbedaan lugu dan bodoh memang hanya setipis rambut pi..* Saya juga tau Pulau Buru dari kata-kata “Tetralogi Buru”nya Pramoedya Ananta Toer yang terkenal itu. Dinamai “Tetralogi Buru” karena memang Pram nulis semua buku itu disana. Tapi setelah baca Bumi Manusia, saya tetep ga dapet gambaran tentang kayak gimana Pulau Buru. Orang Minke ga dibuang kesana kok. Dan akhirnya.... kebuntuan saya tentang Pulau Buru dipecahkan dengan dipinjamkannya buku ini kepada saya! Sungguh beruntung bukan? *tidakkah anda kenal internet dan mesin pencari, dek upi? Dan tidakkah anda ingin sekali-kali ngemodal buat beli buku bagus kayak begini?*
Sulit sekali, buat saya, untuk tidak membandingkan novel Amba dengan Pulang. Walaupun ceritanya beda banget sebenernya (Pulang: kisah tentang tapol yang terusir dari negeri sendiri, Amba: kisah tentang tapol yang dipenjara di negeri sendiri), tapi banyak unsur-unsur pendukung lain yang sama. Latar belakang sejarah yang digunakannya sama, ditambah pendekatan cerita di kedua novel ini yang dihubungkan dengan epos Mahabrata. Utamanya sih karena jarak saya membaca kedua novel ini hampir deketan juga. Gimana ngga ngebandingin coba? Dan terus terang, saya lebih suka Pulang. Temen saya bilang, Pulang sebenernya novel pop, yang jadi terkesan berat karena unsur sejarahnya. Buat saya, mengenalkan sejarah dengan novel pop seperti itu justru yang paling kena, menyenangkan dan gampang diterima. Amba ini terasa berat sekali. Belum lagi unsur-unsur wayangnya. Di Pulang, penulis menceritakan kisah Mahabrata nyaris secara tersurat, detil, dikasih paragraf sendiri. Di Amba lain lagi. Sama seperti segala hal yang ada di buku ini, kisah tentang seorang Amba yang dicampakkan dua pria, yaitu Bhisma dan Salwa (pada kisah wayang) ga dijelaskan secara gamblang *tidakkah kalian pikir kebetulannya agak kelewatan? Nama tokoh cerita ini sama tokoh di kisah wayang terlalu sama? Jadi aja “takdir”nya juga dibikin sama. Eh, apa ini emang sengaja?*. Dan buat saya itu agak menyulitkan, karena saya yang emang ga tau sedikit pun sama kisah perwayangan. Sehingga, membaca Amba terasa bagaikan perjuangan berat nan melelahkan bagaikan mendaki Himalaya #halah.
Amba adalah novel yang engga to the point dengan diksi tingkat tinggi. Saya perlu “menerjemahkan” kalimat-kalimat dan puisi-puisi yang ada dalam buku ini sebelum bener-bener sampe pada maksud yang sebenarnya *lelah! Lelah!!*. Saya kira, novel sejenis Amba ini adalah novel yang pemahaman dan penerimaannya bisa jadi beda-beda pada tiap orang. Kita yang harus pinter-pinter nangkep makna dari apa yang ditulis pengarang. Ditambah kenyataan bahwa novel Amba ini mengandung informasi sejarah dan politik yang jauh lebih padat daripada Pulang. Lebih padat, tapi ga dijelaskan dengan detil, seakan penulis menganggap semua pembaca adalah orang yang expert sejarah dan paham sekali soal politik dunia. Itulah satu-satunya alasan kenapa saya kurang klik sama novel ini. Dan lagi-lagi, kesalahan ada pada diri hamba yang hina ini. Kesalahannya adalah saya sama sekali buta tentang perkembangan politik pada masa itu, jadi aja baca ini kayak melewatkan banyak hal. Ada missing part-nya gitu. Bukan karena ceritanya, tapi karena pengetahuan saya yang minim. Sebenernya, kalo saya rajin dan niat pengen nambah ilmu sekaligus membaca ini dengan pemahaman maksimal, informasi-informasi itu bisa saya dapetin (minimal dan semurah-murahnya) di internet. Tapi berhubung saya malesnya udah setingkat Patrick-nya Spongebob, jadi yahhhh..... ya udah lah ya. Ga usah dibahas.
Gimanapun, saya rasa saya butuh sekali novel-novel seperti ini. Dengan mental males level advance dan tingkat kepedulian terhadap sejarah setingkat kepedulian saya terhadap cowo-kurang-tampan-kurang-pintar-kurang-ajar, novel seperti Amba ini terasa sangat informatif, menambah wawasan dan sangat mencerahkan. Pulang. Satu kata yang paling ditunggu banget sama anak rantau kayak saya. Ketika masih jaman kuliah (dimana libur lumayan panjang cuma terjadi 6 bulaPulang. Satu kata yang paling ditunggu banget sama anak rantau kayak saya. Ketika masih jaman kuliah (dimana libur lumayan panjang cuma terjadi 6 bulan sekali), pulang adalah sesuatu yang amat berharga, amat ditunggu, dan amat bikin frustasi karena 48 jam sebelum hari pulang rasanya bagaikan sepuluh tahun cahaya *lebay lebay!*. Pulang memberi saya rumah. Tempat dimana saya tau bahwa saya disayangi tanpa alasan, diperhatikan tanpa pengharapan balasan. Rumah adalah kotak penyimpanan ribuan kenangan, tempat dimana semua hal dari mulai orang tua, adik sampe kursi dan remote TV pun kayaknya kenal dan menerima saya sebagaimana adanya. Tempat yang menjanjikan perasaan nyaman, hangat dan aman. Demikian kira-kira arti rumah bagi saya, dan kenapa pulang jadi momen yang sakral banget. Kegiatan pulang adalah kegiatan yang mudah dan sederhana buat saya, dan nyaris tanpa perjuangan (kecuali kalo menolak dengan tegas sambil melototin mamang-mamang tukang gehu atau tukang kerupuk kulit di Cileunyi bisa disebut perjuangan). Saya tinggal duduk manis di bis, pasang headset, twiteran watsapan smsan dan lain lain dengan santai lalu tidur *contoh perilaku yang individualis sekali* lalu ujug-ujug “Garut Garut abis!! Minal minal! Habis!!” yak, nyampe.
Tapi rupanya ga semudah itu melakukan aktivitas pulang buat Dimas Suryo dan putrinya, Lintang Utara. Bagi Dimas, pulang berarti bertemu dengan rumah yang dirindukan, dengan wanita yang dicintai, dengan negara porak poranda yang membuang dia ke negeri antah berantah. Pulang merupakan hadiah yang sulit didapat, karena keadaan politik tanah air tidak memungkinkan baginya. Bagi Lintang pulang berarti mempersiapkan diri menghadapi kisah sang ayah tentang sejarah tanah leluhurnya. Lintang yang “dipaksa” untuk pulang justru pada awalnya menolak, memberontak karena menganggap tanah air menyimpan masa lalu suram ayahnya, menyimpan alasan mengapa ayah dan ibunya bercerai, alasan mengapa dia merasa tak pernah kenal ayahnya. Lintang menolak mencari tahu tentang akarnya. Sampai kemudian dia dihadapkan pada situasi yang membuatnya berpikir “bagaimana semua ini terjadi sampai ayah dan aku jadi seperti sekarang? Apa yang sebenarnya terjadi pada ”akar”ku?” Akhirnya Lintang memutuskan pergi ke Indonesia, kebetulan di saat negeri itu (lagi-lagi) diancam tragedi. Setelah mengenal Indonesia, manakah negara yang merupakan rumah baginya? Yang membuatnya merasa bisa pulang?
Lalu ada pula Rama, seorang pemuda yang merasa menjadi “korban” ketidakadilan indoktrinasi rezim *naon sih eta?* yang membuatnya merasa harus menanggalkan nama keluarganya hanya agar diterima oleh masyarakat. Ada juga si cassanova Alam, anak seorang tapol yang cerdas, idealis, kritis tapi sinis dan skeptis tarariis kumaha kitu. Taksirable banget lah. Aduduh Alam Alam Alaaaammm... :3 Tapi bukan faktor taksirable-nya yang bikin saya ngefans sama Alam, melainkan karena saya ngerasa diajak membuka pikiran lewat pemikiran Alam. Melihat pemerintahan pada masa itu dengan cerdas dan kritis, walaupun dibayangin sama dendam masa lalu yang mungkin berakibat pemikiran itu jadi sedikit subjektif. Salah satu pemikiran Alam yang saya suka adalah: “siapakah pemilik sejarah? Siapa yang menentukan siapa yang jadi pahlawan dan siapa yang jadi penjahat? Siapa pula yang menentukan akurasi setiap peristiwa?” (hal 290) Oohh... sejarah PKI jaman saya SMP ternyata versi pemerintah Orde Baru ya?
Ini bukan cerita sejarah. Ini adalah cerita tentang bagaimana sejarah berdampak pada manusia, dan bagaimana setiap manusia itu menyikapinya.
Saya bukan orang dengan kemampuan otak prima, juga bukan orang yang punya lingkar otak besar, dan sialnya bukan juga orang yang tertarik apalagi paham sejarah sampe detil-detilnya, dan terutama buta 98.7% soal politik *bodoh bodoh!! :(*. Ya, saya tau tentang gerakan 30 September (siapa yang engga? Apalagi guru sejarah SMP saya buldog banget), tau juga soal peristiwa berdarah Mei 1998. Tapi ya itu. Cuma tau. Titik. Ga ada terbersit di pikiran saya buat menggali itu lebih dalam lagi. Ketika belajar tentang PKI pas SMP saya masih lugu dan polos, ditambah hasil didikan serial Power Ranger yang mendarah daging, yang membuat saya ngerasa wajib ngedukung pihak yang baik dalam kasus apapun, dan untuk kasus ini jadinya saya mentok di pertanyaan hitam putih khas bocah-lima-tahun; “di peristiwa itu, siapa yang jahat siapa yang baik?” Karena sepertinya politik Indonesia lebih kompleks dari sekedar siapa-yang-jahat-siapa-yang-baik, maka kemajuan pengetahuan sejarah saya mandek sampe di titik 30-September-1968-terjadi-penculikan-para-jendral-lalu-TKI-ditumpas-habis-kemudian-Soeharto-jadi-presiden-selama-32-tahun-lalu-rakyat-bosen-dan-pada-Mei-1998-terjadi-demo-besar-besaran-yang-akhirnya-memakan-korban. Selesai. Tamat. Kesimpulan: SAYA CACAT SEJARAH. Sehingga, saya membaca ini tanpa distorsi kanan kiri, dan sebenernya, dengan pesimistis setinggi Monas bahwa saya ga akan sanggup namatin buku ini. Alesan minjem ini terus terang buat keren-kerenan aja sebenernya. Biar dianggap pinter gitu.. #DigilesMobilMolenSamaYangMinjeminBuku. Ya, maklum lah, lagi ngegebet cowo nih.. *sumpah, apakah info itu penting dan relevan untuk review ini dek upi?* Jadilah, review ini ga berisi pujian dan tetek bengek soal latar belakang kisahnya yang sangat sarat sejarah, tapi lebih ke “komentar seorang pembaca awam sejarah mengenai kisah tentang seorang eksil politik yang ingin pulang dan kebetulan punya setting sejarah yang bagus”. #RibetDah
Dulu, ketika baca Bumi Manusia-nya Pramoedya Ananta Toer, saya terpengaruh sama banyak sekali pendapat bahwa buku Pram sangat bagus, merefleksikan Indonesia pada masa itu, tulisan yang berani dan jujur, dan sejenisnya dan semacamnya dan sebangsa setanah airnya. Sehingga terus terang, saya kurang menikmati ceritanya karena terlalu fokus nyari bagian yang keren dari buku itu. Membaca ini berbeda. Entah karena belom semeledak bukunya Pram, atau karena sayanya udah lelah berusaha keliatan pinter karena ternyata dia cuek-cuek aja. Duh sedih ih.. *APA SIIIHHH??!!* Eniwey, jujur saya aja kaget ketika sadar saya suka buku ini. Karena saya rasa, buku ini tidak menjelaskan tentang sejarah. Saya ga merasa digurui atau lagi dikasih penjelasan soal tragedi G30S ataupun kerusuhan Mei 1998. Buku ini adalah kisah perjuangan dan pergolakan batin manusia yang menjadi korban dan saksi dari tragedi-tragedi tersebut. Ceritanya bagus, dibangun dengan tidak terburu-buru tapi ga lambat, sehingga tiba-tiba saya udah masuk aja ke ceritanya. Dengan penggalan sejarah yang diramu secara amat sangat tidak membosankan sampe nyaris ga kayak sejarah, saya ngerasa dikasih dongeng nyata, menyambungkan “dongeng-dongeng” itu ke pengetahuan saya yang emang minim sekali, kemudian berpikir ulang mengenai tragedi-tragedi itu. Alasan semuanya terjadi, gimana dampaknya buat korban, gimana reaksi manusiawi dan rasional saya misalnya saya adalah korban (amit-amit) atau paling engga saksi dari tragedi itu, dan seperti apakah saya harus bersikap sekarang? Yah, kejauhan sih kalo sampe harus nentuin sikap sekarang kayak gimana, tapi minimal setelah baca buku ini, saya jadi lebih banyak tau tentang apa yang sebenernya pernah terjadi di negeri gemah ripah loh jinawi ini. Mata saya jadi lebih terbuka, hati saya lebih jernih, pikiran saya pun tercerahkan.. *ini sih antara abis baca buku dan selesai dirukiyah*
Kesan: baguuuss banget! Ga nyangka sejarah indonesia bisa masuk ke otak-bebal-sejarah saya dengan cara yang begitu menyenangkan. Salut juga mba Leila bisa bikin saya mikirin keadaan politik negeri ini. Terima kasih mba Leila S. Chudori.. :) Makasih juga buat yang minjemin bukunya. Kalo ga dibalikin boleh ga? #KurangAjar
Pada akhirnya, setelah melihat perjuangan Dimas dan Lintang untuk sekedar pulang, saya bersyukur, karena tidak sulit bagi saya untuk pulang. Untuk menemukan rumah saya. Dan kamu, apakah kamu udah menemukan rumahmu? Tempat di mana kamu bisa merasa pulang? Kalo belom, kamu bisa pulang ke hatiku kok.. *INI APA LAGI SIHH?!! SEMPET-SEMPETNYA!!*
