The problem is that the writing seemed so distant to me. I felt no connection to the characters. Lila is hard to like. She comes off as selfish and immature and I couldn't understand why she made the decisions that she did. I felt absolutely no empathy for her. I felt that it could have been better. But if you like lots of soap opera-like drama, you might like this. ...more

Sad tears, happy tears, angry tears. Haven is finally free, for the first time, to live her life the way she wants. But now Carmine is not and they have to learn to deal with that. And Corrado... So much to say, but you really need to read it for yourself. If you haven't read Sempre, definitely do it. Haven and Carmine are two people who seem completely different yet complement each other so well and change one another for the better. A bit dark as it deals with human trafficking and the Mafia. Quite a bit of violence and Carmine has a potty mouth. ...more

Where their stories cross is again very unexpected. The whole story keeps you guessing. Unclear what is The Game and what is not. There are still plenty of questions to be cleared up and I look forward to the third and final installment....more

The incident with Chris wraps up faster than I expected, but then we get back to taking down the bad guys. There is more hacking and undercover work for Raina, who is determined to take down the Ghost. I love how Raina changes throughout the trilogy, and Kas has to adapt to those changes. He adores those changes. Raina and Kas are just such a great couple. This was a great ending to the trilogy....more

With all the secrets and betrayals, I had no clue what would happen or how things would turn out. It could have easily gone a few different ways, though I had my hunches. Kate has the ability to sense connections between people and uses that for her matchmaking business. So far she has been unable to find anyone for herself, but has matched her own dates with their soul mates, leaving her lonely. Slade, a divorce lawyer, comes in trying to protect his sister, sure it's a scam, but ends up challenging Kate to find him a match. Of course when she touches him, she finally finds the connection she's been looking for. But Slade's not a relationship guy. Gustav's brother Pierre is around now and they are trying to put the past behind them. Serena is getting photo commissions and explores her more adventurous side. This one seemed more erotica than erotic romance and was a bit out of my comfort zone. Certain parts seemed gratuitous at first. However, as I read on I realized that it is important to Serena and Gustav's relationship to explore boundaries and trust. They have a very intense, unique relationship and I can't seem to look away. A new mystery at the end leaves me anxious for the third and final book. ...more

I needed a good HEA after a couple of books with unresolved endings. I was not disappointed. Emma is a widow looking for her husband's murderer and the man responsible for stealing her father's fortune. Luke is looking for his missing mother. They team up because they are looking for the same man. Emma is strong and independent. Luke is the tortured bad boy with a soft spot for his woman. There are plenty of twists and lots of suspense, even a bit of humor. I thought this was well-written and held my attention right until the end. The romance was a little flat for me, but it's not a romance so I wasn't too worried about it. The ending took me by surprise, but made complete sense. Just right for a good mystery. And Darla was tough with a dry sense of humor that I enjoyed. Very readable....more
