A month has passed since the previous book and Ingrid has been searching for her brother Grayson. There are huge tensions between the dispossessed and the alliance since the dispossessed elder Lennier was killed. Ingrid is being hunted by alliance assassins. Nolan’s cousin Rory is in London watching over Gabby and training her. Gabby learns that Vincent the human and duster hating notra Dame gargoyle is vying for the elder position against Luc who has been assigned to Lennier’s former location. Vander has been helping Grayson deal with his demonic traits. Dusters have been going missing and gargoyles are suspected. Ingrid gets captured by axia and her blood gets taken. She’s rescued and Grayson visits her. She learns about luc’s whereabouts. Leon is killed by a chimera gargoyle. Vincent and the alliance both take the same stance on dusters and wanting them wiped out because they will be used as soldiers by axia for her harvest. Nolan betrays the alliance by protecting the dusters and steals the donated angel blood and flees to London and reunited with gabby he learns about dupuis son Hugh who helps them. Axia takes control of the dusters and has them attack the city and new dusters are born from this attack. Hugh and gabby use the blood for a net trap to be used against Axia. Vincent and his supporters happily kill dusters so Gaston Constantine’s gargoyle amasses an army for luc they choose him because of his humanity. Luc defeats Vincent and saves vander’s life becoming elder. Ingrid and axis run into each other and she barely escapes. Ingrid reunited with luc who gets visited by the angel Irindi who tells him he has been forgiven for his sins by saving vander who is an ordained priest. He chooses to stay with Ingrid and the dispossesssed instead of moving into heaven. A dangerous plan to defeat axis happens and Grayson dies in the process of weakening her for Ingrid to finish her off, axis is captured by the net, her blood is drained and the gargoyles deal with the body. Grayson funeral is arranged, Ingrid has her gallery opening thanks to the work that Grayson did. Nolan and gabby exchange love yous as does Ingrid and luc. The angel irindi surprises luc that due to his selflessness he is given a reward a second chance at life as a man. Ingrid and luc are happy to be together....more

He angrily accuses that Grayson harmed gabby. It turns out that in London Grayson was wanted for questioning in the death of a prostitute which he did kill that’s why his father sent him away. Gabby has been secretly training with Chelle. Nolan returns with his father Carrick who informs gabby she can’t be a member of the alliance. Constantine’s gargoyle gustav warns luc that a man named Robert Dupuis wants Ingrid for her angel blood. Dupuis is a member of Daicrypta an occult demonologist group that study demons. Marco and luc don’t trust Dimitri. Chelle and Grayson begin patrolling together because his hellhound senses are strong he shifts into a hellhound and controls another one to protect chelle. Luc tries to keep his distance from Ingrid but can’t and he tells her how he came to be a dispossessed. His sister Suzette had a relationship with their priest who refused to help her when he got her pregnant their father kicked her out of the family home and in despair she drowned herself. Luc killed the priest in revenge and was hanged for the murder. The angel irindi arrives and tells luc that Marco will be the other dispossesssed at the abbey and Irindi has no knowledge of a dimitri proving his and Marcos suspicions. Ingrid’s father is kidnapped by dimitri working for dupuis and is forced to give herself over to save her father. She learns that Nolan’s father Carrick betrayed the alliance and he sent the mimic demon after her. The alliance wants her dead because of the threat of axia. She temporarily loses Marco and Luc as her gargoyles but is rescued. Grayson in hellhound form controlling other hellhounds. Carrick is killed by a hellhound. Gabby makes a huge mistake killing lennier the elder of the dispossessed now they’ll be seeking revenge against her. Luc kills Dimitri. Grayson gets disowned by his father and goes off with Leon. Ingrid’s twin brother Grayson came to Paris two months prior to find them housing and she’s been worried for her brother which only solidifies when they arrive and learn he’s been missing for days. Ingrid wasn’t particularly upset by the move because she embarrassed herself by publicly announcing her affection for Jonathon Walker who proposed to her best friend Anna whose house she accidentally set fire too. Now Ingrid is worried about her missing brother and that young women have been going missing. Grayson is Alive held prisoner by something inhuman that has poisonous bites and is slowly corrupting him. So when he died he was rejected from heaven and became a dispossessed for over three centuries later. Like all disposssessed they serve the angelic order. He and his fellow gargoyles Rene, Yan and Marco all know that Grayson is alive and trapped in the underneath where they and angels are forbidden to go. Ingrid and gabbby seek out bookstores and cafes that their brother visited hoping to get clues on their whereabouts they meet Henri who is withholding information from them and a bookseller named vander who gives Ingrid a book that he gave to Grayson about gargoyles. Gabby visits Henri on her own only to discover his dead body she meets Nolan. Ingrid is attacked by a hellhound and saved by gargoyles one reveals himself as luc. He tells her about the dispossessed, demons and the human group alliance who work with them to kill demons. Henri, Nolan, vander are alliance and vander has a gift to see demon dust and knows a gargoyle killed Henri. Ingrid learns she has a gift to produce lightning and vander tells her that like her twin Grayson they both have demon dust meaning they’re part demon. The hellhounds grow bold attacking Ingrid in broad daylight forcing her to use her strange powers again. Nolan and gabby exchange a heated kiss and so do luc and Ingrid which is forbidden. Her abilities draw the other gargoyles attention and they learn age has power over them like an angel does. Ingrid discovers the alliance member Marie and the gargoyle Rene were the ones who betrayed her brother to the hellhound because Rene was promised that he and the other dispossessed would be freed from their servitude. Luc and the others confront rene and destroy him. But he tells them a fallen angel axia is the demon master of the hellhounds. Grayson is released from his prison to fetch Ingrid. Gabby is lured and betrayed by Tomas another member of the alliance he was the once who tricked Rene into helping on the false promise of freedom because he was dragged to the underneath and made a deal with axis. Grayson turns into a hellhound and a fight between gargoyles, Grayson break out Ingrid reaches into her new powers making her look angelic. Gabby is mauled by a hellhound but survives, Grayson captures Ingrid taking her to the underneath axia was her abs graysons guardian angel who was tired of serving the angelic order because she believes humans are inferior to her and she feed them and others like vander demon blood but with Grayson and Ingrid she also feed them her angel blood to create powerful soldiers for her fight with the angelic order. She took back Grayson’s blood but unable to get Ingrid’s because they’re rescued by luc, Marco and Yann. Nolan and gabby kiss abd he plans to teach her to fight in the alliance. Luc gets told by the angel irindi that another gargoyle will come to help him protect the girls. Luc breaks Ingrid’s heart by telling her he only sees her as his charge which isn’t true. Vittoria reveals she wants her to join her and reclaim the eighth house of vengeance and that nonna and the star witches killed two mortals to make them mortal and bound their powers. She hates the part she played in getting the curse wants to fix things seeks out the well of memories learns time is rubbing out to break the curse and that Lucia prides missing wife was heartbroken over the thought of vittoria and pride she left pride by getting her mind willing erased and was her best friend Claudia making her feel more guilty. Fury questions the first witch learns the blade of ruination the hexed blade that could kill wrath can break the curse it’s with Claudia whose blood is needed to activate it she visits Claudia gets it but learns it will cost magic to break the curse. But she’s no longer a goddess but she has wrath who organises her queen coronation and they complete their bond. Vittoria is proven innocent when vesta is revealed to be alive she’s a wolf demon hybrid that was kidnapped by greed and domenico sister. So they’re both safe now vesta staying with vittoria. The crone frees her magic. She uses the items and learns that her sister vittoria is alive she goes to Antonio’s cell and see his missing but another skull from her sister telling her to meet at the isles. Hurt and angry over the fact that her sister has been alive for months as she grieved and almost became a monster. She meets wrath and shows him her fire powers that he already knew and that he already knew her sister was alive. He can’t tell her everything because of the curse that is in play. She realises the amulet was used to bind her powers as much as hide his wings. They seek out wrath’s permission to go to the pillars and abysses the guard imprisons envy where a now vampire vexley Torturing him but Camilla kills him and frees envy solves the last clue activates the pillars and they head to the unseelie court where envy learns she’s Lennox’s daughter her father gives back her talent and takes the locket her mother stole from him. Envy is hurt by her betrayal but concerned over her wcuch confounded by wolf issuing a warning about her. Her father forced her to paint a hex object the key and locket open a portal to the mortals where he tortures then while she watches chained in an iron cage. Envy comes to her rescue after getting the chalice of memoria back his wings return and he frees Camilla and they kill the king but ge leaves with the key without saying goodbye spends days healing his people. Camilla believes he will never forgive her. However Alexei his second encourages him to talk to her and when news of her brother onyx trying to assassinate her he intervenes imprisoning him in the cage. He and Camilla reunite and she happily goes back with him to his house. She’s everything to him. They get engaged....more

I absolutely loved this book for multiple reasons first because itBook 16 of the magnificent guild hunter series by the talented author Nalini Singh. I absolutely loved this book for multiple reasons first because it focused on Elena and Raphael as the primary couple. I loved reading more about the characters that have now grown up thanks to the significant time skip since the series first began. With the young children Zoe Elena nearly twenty one in college wanting to be a weapons maker like her father deacon. Elena’s niece Maggie eighteen and half years old now with a love of fashion and her thirteen year old nephew Laurent. Eve now the same age as Elena was in book one 28 years old and her sister Amethyst 33 married to Maynard with twin three year olds. I loved finally seeing Vivek be able to walk apart from issues with pain and a limp in his left leg, I was glad to see a potential love interest in a vampires Katrina hopefully a book focusing on them will happen fingers crossed. I absolutely loved reading about them. This was a fantastic addition to the magnificent series I can’t wait to read more from this series. I loved the fact that Elena had some personal issues with her family resolved. I also loved the hidden history of the angels revealed in this book. a definite must read.

Three years have passed since mercy chose a normal life with Parker to raise her daughter Eve. They’ve tried to keep from drawing attention to themselves from the angels and demons but Eve has healing abilities and a mysterious shiny man encouraging her to use her powers. Adam watches her and Eve quite often and things get complicated when Adam has to step in and help when people are obsessed with Eve who later become a church of new faith dedicated to the prophecy of Eve being the child of light daughter of the bringer of life. Adams prescence causes mercy to be conflicted over her emotions for him and Parker. Gabriel summons mercy to deliver a message to Sam, Parker grows more insecure with Adam around, the archangel Michael arrives in the middle of the night to warn them Eve has been taken by Lucifer who has taken her to githa a part of hell. They immediately go after her although only gone for a few hours in githa two years have passed, realising Lucifer will come after her Adam takes mercy, Eve and help to remiel’s Texas ranch leaving Parker behind for his safety but Lucifer turns up he offers to take both mercy and Eve she refuses and learns from Michael she’s equilvant to an archangel Lucifer can’t freeze her, Lucifer leaves. Parker never received her message from Adam so he sold his club eden bought a coffee shop, married luz adopted her two sons and they have a baby girl, upset she missed so much. She visits matty and oriana who suggest binding eves grace but needs dahlia dark witch to do it, visits midian and does the ritual using her grace but they’re now linked and needs to let dahlia feed off of her grace to keep the spell going Adam isn’t happy about this, mercy gets Eve and they live with nelo and Adam. She sleeps for days, Adam wants mercy back in a romantic sense but she’s still grieving over her relationship with Parker and the fact that she doesn’t trust Adam to stick around despite still loving him. They realise that mercy continuous weakened condition is because dahlia is constantly draining her grace, Lucifer attacks daphne and Sam and mercy goes after him he wants evesocarion Adam kills dahlia getting mercy fully powered but Lucifer senses Eve grace again goes after her Michael and Lucifer fight and mercy kisses Lucifer draining his grace and he is forced to take a vow to wait until she’s grown up to go after her again, Adam and mercy romantically connect again but it’s not peaceful because demons and the church of new faith are targeting Eve forcing them to have to bind eves grace so she can live a normal life oriana knows of a better ritual to do it, but it comes at the cost of adams life who he hid this from mercy heartbroken and angry lashes out at oriana and, nelo is transformed into a human they move to Washington and cuts ties with everyone, remiel removes any memories of angels and demons from Eve, months pass by and mercy is summoned by Gabriel who reveals a fallen angel has been redeemed its Adam and they agree to keep him as uncle Adam and plans to stick around when he can considering he’s an angel of the lord again. I love the characters of mercy, Adam, Sam, daphne, Parker, luz, oriana, Matty, Nelo, Bert, hubie, Nathanael, Gabriel and the introduction of Lucifer. This was a fantastic book to read highly entertaining and enjoyable book to read.
Following the events of the previous book mercy pregnant with Adam’s child he’s fled for their safety leaving her heartbroken but she meets with his attorney and learns he left her with lots of money, his car and his home. But she refuses to use it wanting to stay independent, back in her apartment meets Remiel who she manages to get adams number from but refuses to call Adam. She deals with her pregnancy one day at a time and has an unpleasant reunion with her father at her brother matty and oriana’s wedding dinner rehearsal afterwards kidnapped by Ben but surprisingly rescued by Lucifer himself who doesn’t want Azazael to be reborn he expresses an interest in her child. He agrees to help her decontaminate bens soul from Azazael influence she heads back home bumps into remiel who was alerted to her trouble by Adam and tells him what happened she has missed calls by Adam calls him but he never speaks only hangs up. Luz helps mercy introducing her to dr hathaway she’s surprised to learn she’s three months pregnant and concerned because Adam was in midian she wasn’t with anybody else at the time of conception. Months pass by and daphne and Sam give in and have sex but mercy catches him packing up his apartment first Adam leaves her now Sam is leaving daphne. Luz and Parker broken up detective Santiago turns up questioning mercy since Ben is missing again. After a long shift raziel has returned from midian and tries to kill her under heavenly orders but chooses to sacrifice himself and give her his life force. Parker takes her to his home they grow closer during her pregnancy. Oriana assures mercy the child is adams conceived in the ether while he was in midian. Raum shows up wanting oriana back but is scared away by mercy. Parker accompanies mercy to birthing classes and tells her he wants to be there for her and proposes to her, she’s conflicted and calls Adam who never speaks and hangs up. She decides to move on and accepts Parker’s proposal she moves into his home with her cat and nelo, he’s made a nursery. But Adam arrives wanting her back and she angrily confronts him for leaving and telling him a relationship in only the ether isn’t good enough and wants something more stable and rejects him. Mercy goes into labour and gives birth to her daughter who goes missing and all her friends and family have their memories wiped with no recollection she was ever pregnant she calls Adam for help and they go looking for their daughter first visiting raum but doesn’t have their baby girl, but dahlia reveals hens whereabouts they go after him next but he doesn’t have the baby either but his mind isn’t good ends up in a sanatorium, Adam visits Lucifer in hell and gets the location the angels have taken her baby they go after the angels and find their daughter mercy names eve before they’re confronted by Nathanael and the other angels she confronts him angrily about taking her child without letting her see her first. A fight breaks out before the arrival of archangel Gabriel who punishes Nathanael for his crimes he was the one who sent raziel after mercy and kidnapped eve, he becomes fallen and mercy is honoured by the title of Gabriel’s clarion. Mercy returns to Parker but the next few weeks are a struggle dealing with a newborn baby and the fact that the others have no recollection of eve or mercy being pregnant. She visits Ben often and bumps into Gabriel who wants to give back to her after being wronged she chooses for Ben to be fixed and have no memory of ever meeting her. When she gets back she’s surprised that Parker has his memory back and they go to make Love but interrupted by Adam visiting eve mercy learns he returned Parker’s memories not Gabriel whom she had assumed he a happy she’s got Parker looking after them before leaving again ...more

I must admit i feel bad for mercy character because she’s made to look like she’s juggling multiple boyfriends with Adam, Parker and Ben. Adam as a character is getting more annoying for me I get he wants to keep mercy safe but his condescending attitude towards her at times is frustrating and the fact that once again he leaves her in a time she really needs him, part of me hopes she doesn’t take him back if he comes back because he clearly isn’t going to change his leave when it gets complicated move. This book is highly entertaining and enjoyable book to read.

They start making plans on how to get there and rescue them but mercy gets questioned by detective Santiago In regards to bens disappearance. Mercy is feeling moody, tired and nausea frequently figuring she’s just got the flu, Nelo informs her there are other ways into Midian but witches are needed, Parker and mercy have to act like a couple to cover her against the cops. Parker finds a witch named luz to help them, Sam and mercy kill the demon cephas who tells them about a fallen Angel remiel who might be able to help. They track him down but he refuses to help without payment. Nelo and mercy bribe the demon guardian Naberios with chocolate to get passed the gate. She finds Adam in the room she was kept he doesn’t believe it’s her at first until she proves it’s her, he refuses to leave with her since he made a deal but raziel arrives and exchanges places with Adam but they can’t get Ben, they head back home and learn the seer witch oriana from Raums court has come with them. Oriana stays at sams apartment her brother Matty is attracted to her. While visiting Parker and luz detective Santiago arrives requesting to question her at the precinct about Sam involvement in Charles weatie death, accuses her of involvement of bens disappearance. Adam arrives and whisks her away. They upp their time to get Ben out of Midian and then the binding ritual for Azazael. Marry takes oriana away and hides when mercy tells him they need her to bargain with raum for Ben. Adam and mercy visit remiel who gives them the ring and how to contact Hecate to get a portal but mercy owes him a favour. They get to Midian find Ben still possessed and they are escaping when ambushed falling mercy has snow white wings emerge and together Adam, Ben, Nelo and mercy escape raums demon army but she promises the goddess exchange for anything to open a portal back to sams apartment. Luz circle of witches binds Azazael essence from Ben into a box, but mercy can see his soul has been corrupted thanks to the prolonged exposure to Azazael. Ben tells her he still loves her but she tells him she loves Adam despite them having jealousy issues. Mercy mother turns up that matty is getting married to oriana and her mother thinks she’s dating Parker. Still experiencing nausea, Ben and mercy go to the police precinct where Ben tells he went on a drinking binge after mercy broke up with him. While at work Ben turns up threatens Parker with a gun she resolves the situation but warns him to stay away from her. Adam and mercy fight over his jealousy with Parker, the Angel Nathaniel arrives warning her she’s failed to stop the prohecy it wasn’t about Adam it was Azazael the fallen Angel now has made Ben evil, and she’s ordered to fix this problem, she tells the others and learns bens taken the box with Azazael trapped inside. Her symptoms continue and agrees for Sam to heal her but they’re shocked to learn she’s pregnant she’s nervous about telling Adam because he’s wife was killed for being pregnant with his child in the past. The prohecy of her being the bringer of life is accurate. She seeks Luz for advice and on Christmas Day tells Adam she will move in and accepts his marriage proposal and will introduce him to her mother, oriana, matty and her mother join them for Christmas meal but oriana lets slip she’s pregnant and Adam isn’t happy after confirming she’s pregnant with his child leaves her despite telling her he loves her, weeks pass by Sam fails to find Adam because he doesn’t want to be found, parker offers to help her raise her child, Ben been quiet and unseen no doubt waiting for his moment to strike and then mercy is visited by a lawyer in Adams behalf leaving her large sum of money and properties and a letter stating he won’t be back, leaving her heartbroken, ...more

I loved reading this book as it explored more of the Angel and demon world with mercy caught in the middle of it all. I loved the introduction to new characters like the demons raum, Ubel, hubie, Bert, nelo, naberios and the angels Gabriel and raziel. I loved reading this book the only thing that irked me was Ben and adams behaviour get with Adam because he lost his wife Mariah he wants to keep mercy safe however he keeps making decisions for her that keep getting hurt one way or another, and I didn’t like Ben’s treatment of mercy either when he reacts to being verbal abusive to her after she returned from an ordeal not exactly a supportive boyfriend, but the rest of the book I loved it it was highly entertaining and enjoyable book to read.

He’s afraid his love for her will get her killed like his wife Mariah. She learns Adam hates azazael because he was the first to take a human wife and other angels followed causing corruption when they were being worshipped which caused them to be punished. Sam warns her that azazael will need to have sex with her to be free and he can shapeshift into someone she loves to trick her, also Raum the demon lord is after her and keeps sending demons after her, her friendship with Parker grows strained when he introduces his girlfriend Sharona who mercy senses is a bad person and warns him but he gets angry at her. Daphne and Sam and mercy watch movies together, her relationship with Ben grows strained because Sam has to be near her all times to protect her from the demon attacks when she goes to visit him she’s kidnapped by demons hubie and Bert who take her to the demon land midian to raum who forcibly feeds on her grace she calls to Adam for help he does come but refuses to take her from midian stating she’s safer there from azazael but she angrily confronts him about azazael nearly raping her and raum forcibly feeding her grace he’s horrified and helps her to learn how to fight with her grace to defend herself and leaves but after she’s attacked by raum the demon imp Nelo offers to help her escape and they do of course a favour is owed to the gate guardian Naberious but she returns home to learn it’s only been hours passed on earth instead of days in midian, she reunited with Sam and later Ben who just verbally attacks her and basically breaks up with her Adam visits her in the ether they have sex and he tells her about Mariah that she was pregnant with a Nephilim which is why she got killed and he wasn’t there for her because he was helping Sam adjust to being a fallen after refusing to kill Adams wife, when mercy and Daphne go to do Christmas shopping she hears a strange sound it’s a horn Gabriel’s horn she runs into Sam and they spy on an Angel meeting where she joins them Gabriel allows her to stay and the Angel raziel defends her against Nathaniel she hears about a possible prophet needing to be checked out before deciding to leave Gabriel gifts her with a sword, days pass by she hasn’t heard from Adam but azazael turns up pretending to be him but he leaves. She and Parker fix their friendship when he reveals she was right about sharona and he invites Ben to come talk to mercy so they can fix things which in this case officially end things, they go back to her apartment and when she tells him she loves Adam he lashes out but she realises he’s possessed by azazael and Adam arrives and ties the unconscious Ben up with blessed ropes which will trap azazael in ben’s body and tells her both Ben and he have to go fo midian where azazael can’t get free and for him to fulfill his end of the bargain he struck with raum to get his demons to back off on mercy by allowing raum to feed off his grace for 366 days, she’s heartbroken and has thanksgiving with Daphne, Sam, Parker, Matt and nelo she tells them everything and she plans to get both Ben and Adam back they agree to help but are interrupted by the sudden arrival of raziel....more
Book one of the fallen series, I loved reading this book, I enjoyed the introduction to the characters of Mercy, her brother Matty her best friend DapBook one of the fallen series, I loved reading this book, I enjoyed the introduction to the characters of Mercy, her brother Matty her best friend Daphne, her boss Parker, detective Ben gates, I loved the angels Samael aka Sam, the social kooky Angel Adamiel aka Adam a huge flirt and Nathaniel. I loved the pace of the story of the book the only thing I can say as a slight critique is this book ended abruptly but not to worry there are four other books in this series, I loved the love triangle between mercy,Ben and Adam. This is a fantastic modern setting with angels and demons. I liked the fact that first Adam comes across as flirty sex obsessed angel but reveals a deeper layer to himself, I liked detective Ben Gates character friendly and kind to mercy but seems to have a jealous streak to his personality. this book was highly entertaining and enjoyable book to read I definitely recommend reading this book, I am looking forward to book two.

After visiting her brother catches sight of the stranger and follows him to his apartment he tells her his name is samael a fallen Angel, he did a forbidden thing by giving her his grace and gave too much now she’s changed something new, he’s a fallen Angel he healed her because she came to help him feels responsible for her she thanks him. She notices at work she’s getting a lot more male attention even from her boss Parker, she gets a call from detective gates warning her Charles out on bail he attacks her in her apartment she escapes and he disappears she stays with the detective and they begin dating, she visits Sam and meets another fallen Angel Adam who flirts with her calling her new and shiny. Adam turns up at bens apartment flirting with her and tells her his true name adamiel and if she calls his true name he will come, she tells Daphne’s the truth and she supports her. At work detective shows up with news that Charles has been murdered later visits Sam who admits to killing him because he hurt her, Adam tells her that humans finds angels irristible which is why she’s been getting so much attention Sam and mercy hang out often and learns that she’s the only female Angel like creature in existence they’re virtually all male with a small selection of gender neutral. She practices her powers of invisibility on her brother matty, despite being in a relationship with Ben is drawn to Adam. While on a date night with Ben she’s confronted by an Angel named Nathaniel questioning how she got grace and adam turns up, Nathaniel leaves, mercy and adam question each other she learns that Sam was an Angel of death but was cast out because he refused a direct order to kill someone, adam tells her to him she looks like an Angel and they share a kiss before he says goodbye, she visits Sam and overhears adam and Sam talking that adam is afraid of mercy’s safety and that he lost a woman named Mariah. He says goodbye to her and leaves Sam comforts her and tells her that he loved Mariah and when he was ordered to kill Mariah he refused and was cast out but raziel replaced him and killed her hence the grudge Adam bears against him. Ben goes over to mercy apartment to have dinner where she planned to tell him everything but he confronts her about Adam and Sam and basically accusing her of being dishonest she tells him to leave and they break up, she goes to the nightclub to drink and then goes to church bumps into a demon calls Sam for help no response calls Adam Who shows up gets rid of Cephas but is concerned about the imp reporting to his master about her says his goodbyes again, she doesn’t hear from sam in weeks and Ben and her get back together but at a work Halloween party sam arrives and tells her that Adam asked him to stay away to protect her but has secretly been watching her, he visited Nathaniel to come clean that he was the one to give her grace so Adam wouldn’t get the blame, the angels are reserving judgment on the matter for now, but warns her of some troubling rumours he has heard and needs to talk to her ...more

I loved the previous trilogy demons after dark covenant and hoped this trilogy would be just as good it was. I absolutely loved it. I loved the characters I was so happy that Morax the seventh and missing legion member had been found and put back together. I loved the truth about Eva’s past had come to light. I definitely recommend reading this series it’s entertaining and enjoyable to read.
Following the events of the previous book infernal has been destroyed and the hellgate is open, the human world has finally been exposed to the supernatural world and it’s creatures. Asmodeus goes into the gate and discovers it doesn’t directly lead to Lucifer’s city Allyria but has split into two paths the other leads to the seventh circle of hell. Eva comes to terms and overcomes disagreements with her darkness until she fully accepts herself and truly become one being. The legion want Eva to tell their story, the truth to the whole world. Eva starts remembering more flashbacks of her mother being concerned over Dr Wilkes and begins investigating. The legion track Hannah the witch that gave them info in the prior book to help them see what kind of magic caused this hellgate to open, Hannah tells them something supernatural caused this and that this gate was intended to stay open forever meaning creatures of hell will be able to run rampant on earth, Hannah tries a spell but it doesn’t work the gate reacts and opens wider the legion begins to suspect her but are interrupted by the fae River who tells them they were tricked the Potion that caim stole isn’t the cure it’s a spell to open the gate. Caim feeling horribly guilty that if he had forced Eva to take the cure she would have died but she misunderstood his demeanour thinking he is rejecting her because of her demonic side. The fallen angels Suriel and Gabe come with a dire warning the demon was Lilith is on earth and is hunting. Stolas tells them all Lilith has ever wanted was her lover back Adam the stories were wrong they weren’t ever human they were the first created from the great pit of hell, Adam was a demonic monster that even a soulless Lucifer couldn’t deal with him so he took his rib and hid it on earth and Adam as long as his body was never completed he would be trapped forever. Eva gets an uneasy feeling about the story and the pain in her rib. Lilith turns up at caims apartment and tries to take Eva but is stopped but escapes. Eva decides to see her doctor to get answers but all he’s stuff is gone from the clinic luckily they catch him at home unfortunately Lilith turns up as well. Eva learns her father was part demon and that dr Wilkes is part of the league of morality entrusted to keep the rib of adam hidden by doing so he hid it in unsuspecting humans. Her demon didn’t come from the orb it was always there only hidden by a witches spell. She learns that Adam is a monster that wanted a kingdom of his own and endless wars his favourites would be spared and become loyal subjects but the others would be in eternal hell. The legion think it’s a good idea to flee and keep Eva hidden by River forces her to go to hell to trap Lilith by using the favor that Eva owes her from the previous book. So Mia and Asmodeus go into hell to warn Lucifer and caim and Eva go to hell to head to the great pit. Unfortunately theyre separated and Eva is captured by a demon who holds her until Lilith arrives. Lilith takes to her to the great pit and tells her their history Lilith, Adam were some of the first demons however another was created weak and a half breed called Eve who seduced Adam and took his rib in hopes of becoming powerful like him but it killed her that’s why Dr Wilkes targeted certain women including Eva they’re descendants of Eve. Lilith takes the rib from Eva, Eva accepts her true self and uses her powers to heal herself, caim fights Adam and Eva fights Lilith and destroys the rib, because if the rib is exposed too long it will be destroyed. I absolutely loved reading this book it was action packed of awesomeness, i loved the characters especially the legion members. I was thrilled by the return of Asmodeus and Mia and that Mia kept her promise and found the missing Morax. I loved the struggles that Eva went through this book very good character growth. This book was entertaining and enjoyable book to read. I definitely recommend reading this book and this series. Gotta warn you there’s a hell of a cliffhanger at the end of this book.
Following the events of the previous book Eva finds herself kidnapped by members of the cult of Lilith held in a luxurious prison they take her blood and get turned into demons. This happened because the orb destroyed in the previous book it’s power went into Eva. Eva escapes while they’re unconscious and gets reunited with Caim however she blacks out and doesn’t recognise him or her friends she regains consciousness in hospital and remembers them but Caim is concerned that she isn’t completely the same as before. Especially when she’s constantly hungry her blood was black only demons have black blood. Back at her apartment with Sarah and Anya Andrea one of the newborn demons attacks and offers her answers to her mysterious illness and her mother. She escapes. Caim, Eva, Bael and Phenex meet with the fae river who tells them that a group of fae have defected and created their own court and have probably been working with the witch that created the demon power nullify spell. River tells them Eva’s turning into a demon which is strange because the others were turned instantly yet she hadn’t. River tells them about a relic a potion to cure a demon that could help but it would cost Eva makes an open ended deal with River, fearing the growing darkness inside of herself. The orb that was destroyed was supposed to go into Charlie but went into her. The legion try to stop the fourteen new demons that are attacking humans. Valac tells Eva that there something natural aversion going on with the demon. They learn from a witch that the cult of Lilith are planning to kill Lucifer by tricking him into taking the cure, they think he’s weak because he got his soul back and ended the soul game meaning the hellbeasts will be starving and that he closed the gates. That’s why the cult want to free Lilith from hell so she can takeover and rumours are open more portals. Eva loses control after smelling blood by caim brings her back. They learn that her illness may be connected to the cult of Lilith, Eva wants to stop searching for the cure and focus on stopping the cult. But caim secretly continues searching, the cult attacks and nearly kills Anya pushing Eva over the edge but the demon doesn’t rage much to the shock of the others and even willingly stands down so Eva can take over, Asmodeus and Mia return, he heals Anya who is barely living, the plan to trap the cult members in infernal and caim shows Eva the cure but she gives to the members turning them back to human. She and her demon have made peace became one being in a way which alarms caim because that isn’t the way it works and Asmodeus tries and fails to cure her. They’re celebrating the defeat of the cult only to be shocked by the infernal club being destroyed and the hellgate being opened and the hellbeasts are coming....more

I love the legion characters Caim, Phenex, Valac, Bael, Stolas. This book is set after the events of the demons after dark covenant trilogy. Az and Mia don’t make an appearance but we do get to meet new characters Eva Caims love interest. I definitely recommend reading this book it was entertaining and enjoyable book to read with lots of surprising twists especially the surprising cliffhanger at the end of the book definitely can’t wait to read the next book to find out what happens next.
Az and Mia are away on the honeymoon and Caim has taken over responsibilities of the infernal club and legion business. Eva and her roommates Sarah and Anya are tired of being rejected entry to the exclusive nightclub Internal and decide to break in through an open window only to be caught by Caim. Eva and Caim share a drink and dance they have chemistry. He walks her back home and exchanges numbers. Despite her chemistry for Caim she’s not looking for a relationship. However as a lowly paid assistant at metro news she dreams of becoming a proper reporter and her boss Charlie Offers her a payrise and promotion if she agrees to do a story on Caim initially reluctant but Eva suffers from a rare bone disease her body rejects her bones the same thing killed her mother and her lastest episode lands her in hospital with a whopping medical bill to pay for so she agrees to it. Caim and the other legion members need to use Eva to get information on her boss Charlie because he’s the head of the Lilith cult that’s been causing trouble for them. She and Caim go on a date and after a misunderstanding they separate but come back together because Charlie encourages her to keep spying she does and overhears a conversation about prison cells in dungeons blackmailed by Charlie to get photos of the dungeon she ends up caught in the middle of a fight. Caim learns from Valac that there is something wrong with her something he’s never sensed before she’s dying. Caim tells her about Charlie and them being demons. Charlie sets them up and they fight off cult members and learn that they’re after the demons and can nullify their powers. Caim and Eva finally come clean with each other and end up sleeping together. They and the other legion members research and Eva comes across information in the book of Lilith that Lilith used her blood to create vampires for an army turning human into demons, but Eva learns that the cult of Lilith want to become immortal. They meet up with Charlie and Stolas gets kidnapped, Eva breaks into Charlie’s office and gets a warehouse address where they’re keeping Stolas, they go to rescue him, but again their powers are nullified by the seal or Lilith. Eva stops Charlie from finishing the ritual but the orb explodes and sends her across the room, Charlie dies and she wakes up. Charlie’s actions are exposed by members of the cult and Alanna the head boss of metro news offers her a better job. Caim leaves to get food and Eva is surprised by a woman in white who knocks her out....more
