It isn’t until you throw a resignation letter at your boss that he finally gets his head out of the gutter and looks at you in a new light, as the respectable lady that you are. this book made me realize that some books aren’t THAT bad just because you were in a ‘slump.’
⌞ Luca Windsor & Valentina Diaz ⌝ ᯓ 34-29
• Luca & Valentina have this professional boss x assistant relationship going on for 8 years. of course, she got a little comfortable sharing her opinions and remarks, but at Ares Windsor's wedding, thanks to Luca's impulsiveness and jealousy, they hooked up. And things went downhill (not really) from there.
Initially, i stamped Luca with an ASSHOLE label for how he behaved post-hookup, saying all the dumb things to Val, that made me scream FUCK YOU in capital letters, bold, underline, and italics. i even agreed with all the one-star reviews because why not?

“Dear Kitten, please know that I wish it were my hands on your skin each time you wear these necklaces.”
Don’t we all deserve someone like Xavier Kingston (or just him), who's been obsessing over Sierra for decades? stealing her projects just to get her attention, naming every one of them after her (including her favorite dishes on the menu), keeping her favorite drinks in his cabinet in case she comes over, gifting her an annotated book to express his feelings, baking her cookies every day because she loves them, and even decorates them with X & S. cashed in on all the favors her brothers owed him to get their support in his plan to marry her, got her a machine that keeps her drinks warm because she forgets about them while reading books, and he even writes a book titled *The Story of Us* ...more

he suffered guys!!!! he suffered way too much and i was eating up each & every scene. theresa walked him like a dog ffs! the whole book had groveling, and it's a proper marriage-in-crisis book. it did have a lot of problematic moments and made me furious, but groveling & suffering > his assholeness.
“Theresa, if you ever wanted revenge for the way I’d treated you, you got it in spades when it felt like nothing I was doing or saying was making any difference to the way you felt about me.”
⌞ Mr. & Mrs. De Lucci ⌝
ᯓ theresa & alessandro might've had a good relationship as they both liked each other from the first moment, but because her father forcefully made Sandro marry theresa, he despised her. their 18 months were purely physical (aaron warner's excuse iykyk), and she slowly lost her trust and love for him and asked for a divorce!
–
“I want a divorce,” she whispered. “I’m sorry,” he groaned. “I’m so sorry for more things than you could possibly imagine… but that’s the one thing I can’t give you”
seriously, these men need a little push in the right direction and 'i want a divorce' was the best one for Sandro. he did act cruelly towards her emotionally and thought that hanging her cousin's debt over her head would make her change her decision, but he wasn’t ready for her cold attitude. i swear theresa's constant flinching from his touch, as if he's not worth touching her, and not even believing anything coming out of his mouth, literally tore his heart out, and i was on the sidelines cheering for my girl ...more

I don't even know how I'm feeling right now after reading this. I’m going to develop a new personality soon! THIS BOOK WRECKED ME. It’s the first in the series, and it was so messed up that I’m jumping to the next one immediately. Kade's obsession with Stacey is something I'll never forget!
• KadeStacey (21), have been obsessed with each other since they were 15. They became intimate when they were 18 and fell in love. But something happened between them, and they fell apart. Now, Kade despises her way too much.

“She’s the girl I watch, the girl I obsess over until I feel like I’m going fucking insane."
Kade Mitchell is a complicated character. He’s got a lot of layers—psychotic, obsessive, but also deeply emotional, even though it’s hard for him to express it. As a teenager, he had a vulnerable side, always panicking and nervous around Stacey. But after their breakup, he went down a dark path, getting involved with the wrong people. He’s badly traumatized, and I literally sobbed because of what he was going through. Reading his pov, seeing how he retreated into his own mind, feeling the emptiness that consumed him, was heart-wrencing. They could never make me hate him ...more

I don't know what rating to give this book because i have mixed feelings for it. It was such a wild ride with really good plot twists and likable characters, but the length was a bit much. I thought i wouldn't mind since it's kind of about healing, but nope. and lemme tell you, it's not similar to mindfuck series or haunting adeline because these 3 books are totally different! No comparisons and nothing. Killing the abusers doesn't mean it's like those books. ...more

To be honest, this book was okay! I had a good time, but it had insta-lust, if you can say it that. They met after 2 years and had 2 brief interactions before, but Silas started feeling something for Coraline.
╰┈➤ Silas Hawthorne & Coraline Whittaker:
Coraline's — trauma is not portrayed well. She molded herself into a person who's rude and hurts others if needed, just like Sage. Otherwise, she wasn't healing properly and kinda became rude and confident 2 years later. I would've preferred some more vulnerable scenes from her.
Silas — he was actually pretty different from the other guys and was genuinely nice. He wasn't toxic or manipulative or had any issues and I thought that his povs would have long paragraphs about Rosemary (his ex) but there weren't! He grieved and accepted her death!
This book had nice scenes too, and Silas was caring for her, helped her a lot, and was patient. Also, the revelation about his schizophrenia was shocking. ...more

This book didn't help much! I enjoyed it though! I thought maybe I'll get how much Adrian is regretting that Lia jumped the cliff and he'd be out of his mind, but nothing much happened! He was terrified and all, but still!
The first half of this book is just like book 2. Adrian is still thinking she cheated on him I don't blame him when he saw Luca kissing Lia, but thank God he believed her after his PuNiShMeNt. Everything was really predictable, but I still enjoyed it! Rai and Kyle had too many fights in this one, but I guess I like this one more.
• In this book, Kyle's past is revealed and he's out for revenge. He wants to kill the people who killed his parents – Irish and Russians because they were somehow involved. He could've taken his revenge but he also wanted Rai, that's why he set-up an arranged marriage plan!
Kyle — is wayyy better in this book now that he started sharing his past with her. I actually felt so bad after reading his past scene where his mom and dad died. That scene was truly heartbreaking, and his parents loved him! What happened to him was bad, and I'm glad he found his godfather. Kyle's character is complex, and his past makes it understandable why he's so obsessive; he has put the lives of the people in love in danger once before because of his nature.
His betrayal with his godfather wasn't told, so I had to read it in 'ghosted'. Kyle was disheartened that his godfather was neglecting him for his wife/lover, so he aimed a gun at her and tried to kill her and also tried to kill himself. Well, he was forgiven, but he went to England!
Rai — aahh she was still the same. She's super indecisive, on one hand, she doesn't want to trust Kyle, but on the other, she can't just live without him. Glad she put up a fight with him for the things he did, but she should've held onto them!
Kyle exchanging her birth-control pills and making her pregnant was seriously so freaking wrong. And the hypocrisy of him to act like it's Rai's fault that she wants to abort the child—like, seriously? He was withdrawing from her and being petty, and Rai was like, "I WILL KEEP THE CHILD NOW." Okayyy soooo, I would've been more and more pissed, but Kyle actually apologized for it in the letter and told her about the reasons he did it and respects if she wants an abortion and all! And then he left her again... lol, he came back then. It's just, there's no point of being guilty, and I don't think he really is lol because he wants her to have his baby, it's just that he thinks he lost her. well now we have NIKOLAI so ig it was worth it eh? ...more
