Owen nearly stole the spotlight, between his teenage comebacks keeping his dad humble, and melting my heart with his immediate love and acceptance of Harper. Coming from a woman who married a man with a ready made family, and then proceeded to add to that family, this story hit my heart extra hard. And Claire managed to negotiate not only the fun, swoony, joyful moments and topics, but the tear-filled and tough ones as well, with such authenticity and precision.
