★★★★½ Loved this one. Why did I wait so long to continue this second in the Blades of the Rose series? It is a wonderful paranormal-romance action-adventure set in a stunning local: Greece! I enjoy a good “road trip” story, and this is one that takes place on the ocean. Seems to me to have more romance this time around than the first one did, or is that just my imagination? There’s certainly magic in the air, as well as on the sea. A delight!
I was as enchanted with the heroine, London, coming awake and aware of the world, as much as with the superhero, Bennett, realizing there really can be just one woman for him, especially if it is London. Bennett sure painted himself into a corner with his philosophy on the “three little words” and it was neat to see how Ms. Archer was going to get him out of it. Here is a hint: (view spoiler) Regardless, here are more pictures of the beauty that pertains to this story:

Okay, Kristen, I'm done! ☺

WOW! The pictures are awesome. Wish I had the patience to look them up when I read the book. I also liked your review. Pardon my ignorance, I thought Colossus of Rhodes was a creation of Ms. Archer's. :)
Yeah, Jency, that is one thing I love about Ms. Archer, she always bases some much of her work on actual fact. (And I always learn something!) Loved doing the pics for
b/c everything
actually
existed. Well, except for the last monastery, which, as far as I can figure out was a combination of them all.
great review lisa. I love these books. However, they take me forever to read and forever to get to. I'm a history buff so reading them is like reading a history book and a romance book all in one. Which is amazing to me. Great pictures, Zoe archer writes so finely you can see everything. I could just see the beautiful crystal blue waters of greece! :)
Yes, definitely, Tai! I read Ms. Archer slowly on purpose. I want to get the most out of it. I usually read a book in a day or two and this one took me six days. I take the time to find the pics as I go along and that helps get a visual in my mind - not that she doesn't write descriptively.
WOW. Amazing photos and great review, Lisa Kay! I really need to read this series already! Your visuals have really enticed me. Love the setting. Thanks!
