it was amazing

I was fortunate enough to receive an ARC for an honest review.
griev·ous
ˈɡrēvəs/
adjectiveformal
1. (of something bad) very severe or serious."his death was a grievous blow"
2. synonyms:
3. serious, severe, grave, bad, critical, dreadful, terrible, awful, crushing, calamitous;

Lucian Fane
Brilliant businessman
Formidable foe
Deadly killer

Yaseem Michaels
Lonely orphan
Lover of art
Beautiful soul

When Lucian's baby brother is murdered his rage burns red hot. Two years ago he and Yas spent a night of passion that neither has forgotten. Lucian drugs and kidnaps Yaseem telling her that she is the only thing that will preventing him from annihilating most of New York in his rage.
Yaseem is already half in love with him; he is totally cut off from his emotions due to his childhood. He has only allowed the love of his brother to fill his heart.

This book shredded me, I have not had a book make me this emotional in a very long time. I had to set it aside from time to time and take a deep breath and psych myself up to continue. My love affair with the Vengence series is cemented once again. It isn't often a series can continue to carry the same quality but Nancy Haviland has scored another winner.

Hot sex, sadness, rage, unacknowledged feelings, and revenge this has it all.

“As it was mid-afternoon in New York, one of his most dangerous men answered on the second ring. “Please, tell me Pivchenko has surfaced,” Lucian unabashedly begged. “I’m sorry,” Zlatan said with a mix of apology and frustration in his voice. “There is no sign of him yet.”
