The Return of the King takes about a hundred pages to sink one's teeth into, but persevering is worth it for the glint of sunrise on a victorious maiden's hair, for the show of willpower against all odds in the eleventh hour, and for the golden bloom of a happy ending.

But when the men have died in battle and honour, you have leave to be burned in the house, for the men will need it no more. But I am of the House of Eorl and not a serving-woman. Travis I must confess - I have not seen this cover for RotK before ... very nice ! 3 Stars ? Wow. Why ?

Hannah Greendale (Hello, Bookworm) @Travis: It's an old paperback print I found at an antique store for $3.00. Three stars because the book swayed back and forth between a two-star read and a four-star read. There were moments where I was spellbound and others where I was slogging through page after page just wanting it to be over. When that happens, I tend to land in the middle and opt for the three star review.

AJ Ah... I see you read these individually no wonder we didn't match. I have mine all under the trilogy.

Hannah Greendale (Hello, Bookworm) @Aaron: Yes. It took me some time to get around to buying all three. The first was a spontaneous bookshop purchase. The second came years later - ordered online (probably) after watching the movies. And the third - a cheap little paperback - I found for a few cents at an antique store. :D

Certainly no mark up there.

Gavin Abdollahi Wow... This reads like a review that appears on the first page of a book.

Hannah Greendale (Hello, Bookworm) @Gavin Abdollahi: Why, thank you. :)
