Moriarty's being blamed by Holmes of doing the crimes that are under Trepoff. He doesn't mind until Trepoff contacts him and tries to play Holmes and Moriarty off of each other. Moriarty recruits a journalist(who gets a really good secretary who wants to be a real journalist. No one'll give her a chance since she's a woman until now) who works to get him information on all fronts.
Moriarty is not the 'Napoleon of Crime', but Trepoff sure is. Also, a submarine is destroyed. Or is it? Moriarty believes that Trepoff plans to use it to take down the Victoria & Albert.
