did not like it

Follett phoned it in. Such a fascinating time and could be amazing. But no. No character development. No plot development. Elementary conversation. Low level crap aimed at selling to people who bought into Pillars of the Earth. Do not waste your time.

Rich Pal I really liked this book. I thought it was better than the second in the series. Each to their own. Not everyone will share your opinion so dont advise them otherwise.

Karen France I also gave it one star. I read the other three in the series. The first and second were the best. Third and fourth not so much.

Lord Bathcanoe of Snark I've now tried three books by Follet and to be honest they have got progressively worse.
His stereotypical characters and dumbed down soap opera dialogue should have told me to quit after book one.
How this guy has sold 160 million books is a mystery to me. There must be a lot of easily entertained people around.
