Deri is a witch, who has been banned from using her magik or contacting her family after her former boyfriend, Chad, used Magik that harmed a human, and promptly blamed her for it. Paranormal Bureau of Investigations enforces the sanctions and she ends up in Grove Bluff, a town she's passed through years ago and had felt at home in.

Coyle is the owner of the pub Deri goes to looking for work. He is a 700 year old, tattooed, Scottish Druid, who protects the local humans from things that go bump in the night.

I thought the story was great, I've never really read anything about Druids before. However I thought the confrontation with Chad was kind of short and could have been more in-depth. The story is short but there could have been a bit more on this as there was a chunk explaining Deri's background.

It is a quick break from reality with a sexy Highlander (as a Scot I sometimes found the word usage a bit weird but this will fill your nothing that would put me off. Sexy rolls off the page with Coyle and looking forward to the others in the series.
