Throwing Hearts is a stand alone, sweet, sexy, angst free story by N.R. Walker. If you want something to make you smile and for your heart to feel all squishy and warm, this is for you. I live for this stuff and enjoyed this so much.



Leo Secombe is twenty eight years old. He works as a manager in a clothing store and also volunteers his time with the Bridge the Gap program at Arcus, a local LGBTQ centre in New Farm, Brisbane. The Bridge the Gap program pairs a younger man with an elder for companionship and to help them to get out socially by enrolling in different programs. Leo has been paired with Clyde for over two years now and they have become close friends. Clyde is an adorable grump. You can tell how much he adores Leo but shows his adoration with his snarky comments!



This week, Leo and Clyde are starting a four week pottery class at Kil’n Time and Leo is so excited about it. When they walk in to their first class, though, both of them get quite a surprise!

Merrick Bowman is twenty nine years old. For the last several years, Merrick has given every minute of his time to getting his pottery business off the ground. He’s had no time for a personal relationship. But then Leo walked in to his studio and it was like the time stood still.

“His laughter was light and contagious, the kind that made other people laugh. And that was it. Like something profound had just walked into my studio, like something tugged at a long forgotten heartstring...I had to know more.”

I love when this happens, when two people’s eyes meet for the first time and that beautiful connection is there. There may have been some shyness, some nerves, but these two both felt it and knew that something special had happened.

“I felt like I was floating. Was cloud nine really a thing? Because I thought I was on it.”



I adored these two together. And who knew making pottery could be so sexy? Maybe that only happens when it’s with the right person? These two were clearly meant for one another. And I loved how they navigated the early stages of their relationship as well as how they dealt with a situation with Clyde and someone else I don’t want to tell you about.

“It was pottery porn, not gonna lie. Porn hub should have a pottery making category.”

This is a bit of a two for one romance. We get our two main characters but also a secondary love story that you’ll have to experience on your own. It made the book all the more special. This was such a fun, sweet book and I’m so glad I picked it up. I can’t seem to get enough of N.R. Walker’s amazing stories.
