Exactly my thought!!! I just said today to my friend that it felt like I was reading a Hallmark movie!!!!

You’re exactly right! I’m on page 200 and so far it does feel exactly like a Hallmark movie. Cheesy and predictable. I expected so much more. I’m going to keep trudging along to finish but I’m already skim reading 😞. It has moments of greatness and momentum builds and then it gets lost back in the schmaltz.
Felt the same. I struggled through it, actually skimmed quite a bit, and thought there was much to much cheese factor. But then I’m not a Hallmark Movie fan either.
When I read the description all I could think was “Hallmark movie” seeing that thought from someone who read the actual book, I can safely say I’ll be skipping the book. Thank you for your review
Agreed. I thought I was missing something, but I'm not. The book is cheesey, cookie cutter, and nothing really happens. I kept waiting for the snark to break out. Nope. Yawn.
