Blood of Elves (The Witcher, #1)

Blood of Elves is the first real novel in the Witcher series. The previous 2 volumes were interconnected short stories which included creatures inspired from different mythologies and fairy tales. They were pretty light and loved the humorous writing. And Geralt, of course.
With this novel, the story becomes more serious and starts to have structure and epic-ness.
Everybody is looking for Siri, the prophesied child. Gerald takes her to his training grounds, where we get to meet other Witchers. They all start training her to fight, which will prove to be in her advantage. At one point, Triss arrives to help them deal with the girl’s prophecies. Yennefer, will also make an appearance.
There are more characters, more intrigue, more relationships and less chopping. There is the specter of a new war looming over all the events in the novel.
I listened to the audiobook in Romanian and it just flew. I did not even realized that I was nearing the end of the book. I love Ionut Grama’s narration but, unfortunately, this is the last one he recorded so I will have to switch to English.

Nice one, Adina. I'm looking forward to reading your opinion of the following ones. I had the intention of reading them all, but I found the last one I read a bit boring. So I'm taking a break for the time being.

They are not too big so it should not take too much of my time.
