After Martin’s HEA, the hero’s brother, we have a second chance romance.
Thaddeus and Edith were torn apart by egocentric people who only thought to themselves and standing, yet what chance could have the son of a builder and a Duke’s daughter.
But the betrayal runs deeper than a mere problem of rank. Edith was left with no other choice as a loyal person to comply to her kin’s demands when Thaddeus’ pain made him deaf and blind to her plight.
Still, the author portrays flawed characters who in spite of their failing, show a kindness to one another as time muted the hurt and love is never forgotten when it has its root in one’s soul.
