This is a very well written book. It fills in some details about Uhura’s life before she joined the Enterprise and after her mind wipe at the hands of NOMAD ( The Changeling, season 2, Episode 3).
I found this book refreshing because it focused on Uhura character and allowed her to shine. I did find the whole premise that she is the only person capable to stop the impending tragedy a bit too cliche, but that’s par for the course with Star Trek. It was nice that it was someone other than Kirk, Spock, or McCoy for a change.
As far as the plot and the technical details, they were impressively presented in a manner that is consistent, understandable and feasible, within the Star Trek universe.
Living Memory is a must read for any “Trekkie.”
