Cali Boy is one of the most pure and sweet slow-burn romances that I have ever read. Also to my shock and surprise it was not an enemies to lovers situation between stepbrothers. I loved this flip on the classic trope because it offered such a different take as you get to watch such a beautiful love story begin in such a sincere and platonic way.

Another one of my favorite aspects of this story is the practically love at first sight Finn has towards Oliver. He doesn't understand why, but he is completely under Oliver's spell. Oliver is reserved, kind, artistic and completely different than anyone Finn has ever met before, making him not only enamored but completely devoted and protective of his new stepbrother.

Cali Boy is such a strong debut from this author. She made a story with so many layers for each main character, making for such a heartwarming and beautiful love story that I couldn't get enough of. Cannot wait to see what this author writes next.
