Only the last 50 pages or so were interesting, otherwise the story was a complete drab. Nothing significant happened in the first 400 pages or so.
The book could have been written in half the pages if it was not filled with unnecessary details, like we don’t want to know about the Color of the lace on Elayne’s silk dress or the cuffs of Rand’s coat. I skipped so many useless paragraphs just like this.
