I guess it’s a sweet story but somehow I feel high school romance is not working for me anymore. I have a lot to say why this particular story wasn’t working for me as well (and it was not only the high school setting) but I just leave it at that.
Totally in love with the cover, tho. ♡

Idk why i have been sitting on the fence about reading this one. But now that you say that it was a high school setting, and I've heard that the narrative tone is... meh, I'm thinking of pushing it far, far back down in my tbr.

I love the cover on this also! Unless I have a lot of GR friends convincing me otherwise, I also cannot read highschool books, I think I'm just too old for them lol
Hi @Moon 💜 Well I really can't recommend it. It's a debut and feels a little like the author took a lot of plot-ideas that worked in other high school romances and mixed it up in here. But most didn't feel like it was progressing organically or with reason. Idk...
@Jamie - haha that's what I thought too (but didn't wanna say out loud), that I maybe now in my mid-thirties I finally outgrown high school romances 🤣

High school romances never really worked for me. Even when I was in high school. Years later with the stress of an oncoming PhD on me, I don't think I'd find it appealing. At all. But the cover is so so pretty. That blue with that pink 🤧

@Moon - I used to like the drama only teens can come up with but I think I really am too old for this shit now *lolll Still like drama tho 🤣 And so yessss, the colors, the whole cover, just beautiful.
Sorry it was miss, Kati! I guess I’m showing my grouchy age, but I’ve never been into high school/YA romance, in fact I’ve never read one😃. As soon as I see those tropes I go nope nope that’s not for me!
@Nelly - YA can be so so sweet but I can rarely bring myself to read them. Overall you probably didn't miss out if you never tried them and pass all the high school romances as well 🤣
@Iman - sometimes I think I can still make a high school romance work but no, it def works better for me when they reach a college age and setting. *lolll
Ah yea that’s too bad, cus I thought this was definitely sweet indeed, but I get why high school stories don’t work for you. They rly are so young haha
@Imme - it was sweet and there are hs romances that worked for me in the past but with this, I wasn't feeling it.
Yeah, I totally get that. Unless someone like K. Webster or Bethany Winters writes it, they can fall a little flat. I gave this 3 stars but it really was just okay. Very sweet but sort of boring too.
