a few people said this was better than the slob, so, against my better judgement, as the gore hound and death game lover i am, i shelled out the $3 to try playground. another mistake.
once again, the true horror here was the author’s abysmally juvenile writing style and misogynistic tendencies. every time i almost got interested in the plot i would be subjected to a phrase like “fermented beaver” or a description of a wound as resembling a “gape” video.
lesson learned. next time i want to read something this “edgy” and poorly written, i’ll just go to reddit.

When I was reading that section of the book I couldn’t help but wonder if the author really hates female genitalia. You summed up my thoughts about the book very accurately.
I personally disagree because I think that the point was that the women never showered as she “wanted to preserve her natural oils” but imagine if someone never showered or cleaned themselves what that would look and smell like. I think that is what the author is trying to get across even if it was described in a more grotesque manner.
I agree completely, I could appreciate (most) of the storyline but the writing is what really got me…
genuinely don't understand how he's apparently won awards when his writing style is "baby's first novel"
Oh I am so glad that I wasn't the only one thinking this 😅 having known nothing about the author when I first started reading I did find myself wondering how young he was. I thought teenager. Overall I still get into the book eventually and I'm glad I read it through to the end but I wasn't sure for a while there 😅
i think the author did a great job of explaining the horror throughout this book. it is hard to be disturbed by a book because you can’t see what is being explained like you can with movies, but the author did a good job of creating a picture for the readers. i do think that geraldine or whatever her name was, i think her backstory was sort of unnecessary and disgusting to say the least. over all id give the book like a 4 star rating but i think some of it was no relevant to the story itself and towards the end i was getting bored.
