Just as heartachingly beautiful as the first time. ♡
If this isn’t one of the greatest declarations of love then I don’t know what is. 😭❤️
4.75***** stars
I’ve been so busy these past few weeks I’m now 10 books behind my reading schedule/goal and haven’t read a book in weeks (audios only) and I’ve been missing the hell out of it!! It was like a balm to my soul to finally sit down in peace again and read. And what a come-back this one was.
⇢ Hell, “Exiled” was so hard to put down. The desperation. The need for each other. It was everything. And once again, Jessie Walker amazes me with her writing skills. The intense and vivid descriptions of what was happening, the surroundings as well as the feelings and thoughts of the characters. She really is one hell of a writer.
I loved everything about this book. Nolan and Skyler stole my heart, broke it and pieced it back together. Everything they fought for and succeeded to gain for themselves they deserved. And only the obstacles they had to overcome brought them to the place where they finally could be happy. Together.
ABSOLUTELY RECOMMENDED! So don’t miss out on meeting Nol and Sky, fall in love with them and come to agree with the author when she said “We need more Nolan’s in the world.” I also absolutely love the idea of getting more books from this universe for the two couples JW introduced in this one as well one day. I’m looking forward to them.
side note: Jessie Walker said it herself, this is not her usual dark romance, it’s more like the lightest (and steamiest) she’s ever written, but still a heavy read, so *please heed TWs, regardless.

“When it gets all loud and you feel itchy, like you’re crawling out of your skin, and you feel like you might do something stupid…” […] “Find me.”[…] “I can take it, okay?”

It was as if he stepped right into my storm, reached into the eye, and threw me back out.

Storms and all, always.

I've wanted to try this author for a while, but I'm always a little intimidated by how long all of het books are, lol. I'll get to them soon though.

She definitely is a force to be reckoned with! So very happy that this was such a great read to come back to, Kati! Fabulous review! 💜
i hope you'll find your time to read as long as you're not punishing yourself for not reading (coz i do that sometimes) and great comeback with this one! glad to see this review, i have been eyeing this book for a while now. sounds perfect :D
@Rebecca - it probably doesn't lessen the intimidation when I say her books are so worth reading (but only if you can take the pain too --at least spoken about her other books). When I picked this one up as part of this multi-author series I thought it would be way shorter and I was slack-jawed when I saw the number of pages!! 🤣
@Elisa - hey girl! the move went good but super stressful all in all with also getting my daughter into school for the first time and my son now back into a new day care. I'm beat, honestly. 😅 I'm so looking forward to entering normalcy again.
@Amina - this really was so good and I'm happy I took the time between all the chaos to pick it up. Absolutely worth it, thank you! 😍
Thank you, @Nicole ❤️ I've missed GR and y'all too. I hope I can make time for it again more often now!!
@Iman - oh no, why do you do that? 🥺❤️ But no I don't punish myself for not reading but I def feel punished by not being able to. 😂
Glad to have you back 💕 I’m still (mostly) in my audio phase because I need to drive around a lot, but I’m sure it will change soon. Putting it on my tbr 😊
Glad your come-back book was a success! I guess this is gonna be the next book in the series I read. I doesn't surprise me that despite it being a "light" work for her, it's still pretty heavy. Thanks for the heads up.
Glad your comeback read was none other than Jessie Walker’s release!! Amazing review, Kati and so happy you loved this sm. 🥹🩷 Reading it currently and I’m in awe of how she makes us so emotionally invested in her characters and really puts us through it, but worth every second. Hope your next read is another win! 🥰
great review, kati!❤️ I loved this one too. I haven't read Jessie's other books but I was shocked she considered this light lol, it was so angsty to me. I loved it tho. Glad that you did as well and glad you finally had time to read!❤️
Brilliant review Kati! ❤️❤️ I’m so tempted to pick it up.. but these days I also don’t have a lot of time to read due to some commitments so don’t know when I’ll get to it. Can this be read as a stand-alone?
@Cat - thank god for audios, that's for sure for the both of us currently, right?? I hope you're not missing actual reading as much as I did tho! ❤️
@Ann - haha, to clarify, she didn't say it was a light work only the lightest she'd ever written. But this was honestly nothing compared to the angst of WTAW and ITAW. Honestly, at the end of the book I didn't even recognized as a Jessie Walker book anymore. 🤣
@Gabi - girl, I'm so happy to hear you're loving it! I hope you enjoy the whole damn thing and I'm looking forward to your review! 🩷
@Zakiiya - yesss!! 😍 And it was your review that made me not hesitating for a second to pick it up right after release!
@ellie - it's not like I feel pressured by my reading goal or anything but it shows how little time I had for myself these past weeks because usually I struggle to not exceed my goal. I'm usually several books ahead of schedule. 😂 But thank you, hon! 💜
@Mila - bahaha, as I've read it she didn't considered this light, only HER lightest book. And from what I've read so far by her, I can only agree to that. 🤣 And yesss, I am so glad this was the first book I took time for after my absence of reading. It was so worth it, even besides its length. 🥰
Yes, @Vanna. This is a multi-author series and you can read all the books as standalones. And as far as Jessie's books go, there are no connections to her other books so far. Happy reading as soon as you have some time for it. ❤️
damn i've just seen your reading goal and it's crazy!!! I always put an 'easy' reading goal otherwise I know myself and would do anything to achieve it (and I would rather choose quanlity over quatity). But that's on me for being waaaay too competitive. I hope you have more free time these months you have left to keep up and achieve it! and I specially hope you love them as much as you loved this one 💛 excellent review!!
@aleksandra - I so freaking did!! And I see you liked it the most in the series so far too! I'm very curious about a few other titles as well. 🩷
@Lau - You see, last year I read more than 400 book, so my goal for this year was to tamper it down a little to ONE BOOK A DAY. So more like, keep myself in check, yk? 🤣 With all the audios I listen to besides reading it's so easy to get ahead. So now it's probably a good thing I have a little buffer for the last months of the year. Thank you tho, sweetie. I hope you're reading smth good rn as well! 💗
Aww I’m so happy to see you had your comeback with such a good book!! I totally get the feeling of finally feeling that satisfaction of picking up a book again after a long break! There’s nothing quite like it💗
@Imme - right? I'm so happy this book was such a blast. Makes me anticipate JW's next release all the more!! 😍
