These comic strips are the highlight of my social media feed when they pop up, so I jumped to a chance to read a whole book of them. And it turns out, they work in quantity too. The laconic insights into life through the eyes of Mouse, Bird, snail and Turtle are funny and poignant. Other characters make appearances too, like some cats, the snake king and the mountain expert. And although it’s called Poorly Drawn Lines, the simple illustrations in full colour work well in conveying a whole range of emotions—unless you’re Bird, of course. Will recommend this for anyone who needs a good chuckle or a new perspective to their problems.
