This book forms part of the Stuck With You series - I can't find any other books in the series yet, so am BC assuming that this one is the first book.
Either way, this definitely reads absolutely fine as a standalone read and I knew the second I saw the cover, that this was going to be the sort of book I'd love!

I was quite surprised by the length of this as often books in this genre vary from quite short novella sizes to the longer full length novels and this one took us on quite an in depth journey which I loved and can't believe how quickly I raced through it.

This book sets out with a bang and we open with Cassandra sharing a spicy encounter with James in a nightclub.
She's out for fun without emotion given her past and the trauma that remains after her previous abusive relationship.
But James has other ideas and sets out to get what he wants.

This was a slightly different read to many in this genre and I absolutely loved that there was no real power dynamic here.
James was the most respectful, caring person and it was so lovely to see how he went about getting what he wanted from Cassandra without overstepping boundaries or being demanding.
This was so refreshing without losing the passion and spice that we love.

Cassandra took time letting James in due to her past abuse and especially when her ex made a reappearance.
I found this backstory added authenticity to her as a character and brought focus to her personality and resistance to trust.

I loved the way the relationship develops and the way each character responded to both last and current events and found a real connection to them and their story. I was really rooting for things to work out for them together.

This was well written and with a nice, easy reading style.
I was hooked from start to finish.
