Welp, I didn't expect the MMC's ex to appear so frequently in the book. Although she's not a bad person or a witch, I still don't like reading about the exes in a single dad romance. Like seriously, I really, really don't. The ex and the FMC even became friends.
Irl, this would've been an ideal scenario, but since this is fiction, I don't want the exes to be part of the story. And to top it all off, the ex factored in so many decisions between the MCs. So much so that they couldn't decide on some things without considering her opinion. 🤦♀️
Anyhoo, still thinking if I'm going to write a long review...

That’s disappointing, I was looking forward to this but now I’m not sure 😫 is he with others after meeting?

That’s exactly how I feel about single dads in books being friends with their baby mama. In real life, that’s great (my cousins mom even lived with my uncle and his new wife at one point😂) but in books I hate when the FMC becomes friends with the baby mama and the MMC is friendly with baby mama.
That’s one of the problems I had with in the details by Julia wolf, the MMC and his ex were really good friends and he often babysat her kids she has with her new husband

That's the same case here. The MMC is very close with his ex; they're good friends. In the beginning too, there were some physical touches between them, like hugs and neck massaging, and that annoyed me. 😑 But those touches eventually stopped when he decided he wanted to pursue the FMC. She's a huge presence in the story. 🙃
Ah might have to think about this one, I don’t know if it’s for me 😫 maybe I’ll feel in the mood for it some point…or maybe not…

Okay I just finished that other book by Julia Wolf that has single dad x single mom in it and if this is the same scenario where the MMC is insufferable I’m gonna 🤬

He's just really close with his ex and friends with her because of their daughter. Also because they were together since college and have been separated for only three years in the present time.

I knooow they're really close and it's probably a me thing, but I feel like the ex would always hold a place in his heart. Like deep down he would always love her, because of their history and kid. He said it himself he only saw a future with two women, the ex and the fmc. So idk... As for the hoe part, I haven't read a guy from this author who isn't like that. 🤷♀️

Single dad is bad enough for me but add an ex to the mix and i'm running away, i much prefer a bad ex than a good one that's always gonna be around

The part that really bothered me was when they dripped Daisy off at school and he started like massaging her neck bc she was upset. Da fuq??? Any of my exs did that to me I'd swat them away. It's weird and intimate. And he was winking at her? I get she was trying to convey how strong their coparenting relationship is but just no. I don't want my fictional MMC wanting to touch any other female at all!

He said he can't stop thinking about her and yet he's still doing physical touches with his ex. Idk, in my head he should've stop that sh*t already because some other woman is already occupying his mind. He should've felt some wrongness with that action now that the FMC is in the picture. 🤧
YES. Ok I really appreciate you writing this review because I sort of thought I was being ridiculous. I usually hate OW drama when they're pining after the MMC but this might have been worse!!! It felt like he still had feelings for her. He bought her a 3 million dollar home bc he wanted his daughter to have the best, too. I don't know. Just. Weird. In real life this situation would be ideal, but I almost feel like if she didn't travel 3/4 of the month for work that he'd still be with her.... I didn't finish though. I saw the direction it was going and couldn't read it anymore.

I feel like if the ex wasn't busy and career oriented they would still be together. And imo, she would always hold a special place in his heart, and the love he had for her would always be there. Idk, it's just the impression I got, and I hate that idea. 🤧
